Best for postgrad than undergrad.
Tips: My transition was both peaceful and gradual. The initial two weeks were spent running around, trying to get the hang of things, opening my bank accounts and after that it became more peaceful. It takes time to build solid friend groups, although people are friendly there is a sense of being reserved. Classes are well planned and I would say I am satisfied here.

Good for independent learning.
Tips: The campus has a very supportive and peaceful vibe to it and students are encouraged to be more experiential and independent. Chances of a job after graduation within the country in my speciality are quite limited but the exposure and knowledge gained have been helpful. The cost of rent tends to vary based on the area.

Interesting and challenging.
Tips: The good part about studying here is that the faculty is very involved and genuinely helpful whenever needed and there are regular career fair and networking prospects to make the best of your resources. Opportunities are still limited for international students so if you're keen on coming here, figure out how to land an internship or at least some form of aid.

Good value for money to study here.
Tips: Great value of money as compared to a lot of other California universities. The level of academics and teaching did not disappoint and the weather remains beautiful throughout the year. The campus has a very free and friendly environment and people are naturally easygoing. Have learnt a lot here.
Dislikes (Part time work): Very limited availability and scope of part time jobs here mainly because of government regulations and the opportunities within campus are limited. Also sometimes the academic schedules make it tricky to maintain a part time long term especially during the final season.

Great place and people.
Tips: I did not face major cultural shocks. People here are quite warm and friendly and helpful when needed. The orientation was useful and after setting up my accounts and registration I could live as I please. The university has a dedicated team that answers your questions and offer assistance before committing. Good experiences.

Best return on investment.
Tips: You can get on campus jobs here in 4-5 months if you apply seriously and also, people here are friendly and will get along easily. You should complete your core subjects which will help you give the comps exam early and you can focus on internships or jobs at the end of graduation.
Likes (Student Life): Everyone is friendly here and there are many on campus opportunities to meet new friends. They organise events and meetups weekly, which help find connections and also clubs are great options to interact with people here. Other than that, the city itself is very peaceful.
Dislikes (Internships): Due to current job conditions, it's hard to find internships. You can get it's not completely impossible but you have to dedicate your time to applying and increasing your skills in a particular direction. You should attend conferences and make connections with similar people.

Needs better support for internships and decent academics.
Tips: Internship support is limited. The faculty quality is consistent. Some professors were supportive, but not everyone. Academics (curriculum) at least for the MSIS could be improved as it only offers two tracks - ML & Cybersecurity. There is scope for improvement in academics. The vibe is good. The campus is small with limited food options.
Likes (Public transportation): Long Each has an efficient and accessible public transportation network. Getting around the city and nearby areas is easy even without a personal vehicle. Public transportation is quite affordable-students can get discounted passes by Tap Card - LBT.
Dislikes (Internships): Finding internships largely depends on the individual effort rather than university support. There are occasional career fair and workshops, students have to rely on different platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed to find an internship. For me, CSULB did not help me in finding internship.

A journey worth remembering.
Tips: CSULB does not offer any scholarship for MSIS course. The student housing community is very good and the bus service in the whole of Long Each is too good. The bus stop is 5 minutes. Walk away from the housing community. Multiple grocery and fast food options from the housing community, which is just a distance of 3-4 minutes.
Likes (Value for money): The fee is very less compared to other universities in California. At the same time, you get the opportunity to stay in California, which is the hub of tech opportunities. The professors at the university are friendly and helpful. The university has many events, career fairs, etc.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The nearest Indian food restaurant is 35 minutes away by bus. There is an Indian area called as Artesia, where you can get Indian groceries, multiple Indian food options, Indian vibes and Indian festive shopping. Also, the bus takes about 35 minutes from the nearest bus stop to the housing community.

CSULB stands out for its academic excellence, punctuality, and discipline.
Tips: CSULB stands out for its academic excellence, punctuality, and discipline. No matter what your major is, you'll find top-notch professors here, and they are easygoing too. The student clubs here are very beneficial for students to grow their networks and interact with like-minded people. Never worry about the quality of education because CSULB never disappoints you.
Likes (Value for money): The University fees are very affordable, and the top-notch professors really contribute to levelling us up. There are also plenty of scholarships offered to those who are in need and to those who are deserving. When you compare tuition fees with other universities, it’s very reasonable and matches the high-class quality.
Dislikes (Part time work): The campus is very large, and part-time jobs are easily found. There are many options in the university, and students will have one or another alternative to work. However, they need to be patient in their search and while applying for part-time jobs. Once they have applied, getting a job should be easier, and referrals work much better.

Good energy and a promising campus.
Tips: Once you're in the US, it's important to be mindful of how you talk to people. It can be totally different than talking to people in India, and it can be a little tough adjusting to that. There are tons of international students at CSULB and I would say, if you are coming here, you should try to make friends with people from everywhere. Don't limit yourself to other Indian students. People in Long Beach are really chill, and there are tons of clubs and bars around the university to hang out at. There’s even a specialized gaming area on campus with the esports department, bowling, and more. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Immigrating to the US permanently was always hard, but after the Trump administration, it became harder. Permanent immigration after your studies doesn't depend on the university, but on you. It depends on factors such as getting a job and whether or not your employer wants to sponsor you.

Overall university is good enough in all aspects.
Tips: Do good research personally and get to know the information. Don't listen to the guys, who has no knowledge of the university you are choosing. Talk to the expert and analyze the situation. Have a complete report of each university you are applying to and compare the pros and cons based on your requirements. Then decide which is best. You can also grab the information about the university from their website or you can request extra information from the university service team.
Likes (Internships): For civil engineering lot of employees were offered internships and few days back career fare were conducted for internships and jobs. Now in USA there is a good scope for civil and mechanical engineering guys. Right now construction activity is booming up in the USA. I suggest Masters aspirants in civil and mechanical guys go ahead with a good university to kick start their abroad career.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I am flexible with the situations, I can go wherever I want to in based on the probability and scenarios. It is a good choice to work here and get to know about the technology they are using and the procedures they are following. Apart from that permanent immigration is a big thing. So later on based on the situation only I can decide if I want to stay here.

Well infrastructured and good maintenance
Tips: About the fees, present faculty, and other facilities like sports, library . About the reputation and previous reviews and results about the college. Every one must know about the college. And we must compare with other college also.
Likes (Indian Food): College has a good canteen and we can get our traditional food too. Few of them will charge at low cost.We can get any type of food , they are very specialized in this. We have number of canteen with plenty of dishes, pasteries, bakery, thickchakes and drinks.
Dislikes (Value for money): Because, they charge more for fees. And they add additional charges like , library, laboratories fees and etc. And people in this college are not getting a quality education for the money they spend. And some things will be skipped in the academic year.

Big campus with diverse population.
Tips: Cornell has a really big campus and an even bigger student population. There are more than 15,000 undergraduates, so you can always find your community and close friends. I did not face a big cultural shock as I was able to connect with people really well and got along with them. Before applying to Cornell, definitely research about the major you are going to apply at Cornell. Look at the clubs you are interested in and the professors with whom you would love to research with. For people applying from India, there is TATA scholarship and you are nominated for it after you submit the CSS form. I am really satisfied with my experience so far at Cornell and with my major courses that I have taken. Exploring more of this place gives me new ventures each time. Interacting with professors has helped me strategies my preparation strategy for exams and in general for the class.
Likes (Part time work): It is easy to find an on-campus job at Cornell as they have their own hiring website which makes the process hassle-free. There are a lot of jobs available on campus such as in libraries, cafes, dining halls, TA positions, RA positions, etc. I am not sure about the off-campus jobs as it utilizes CPT. The part-time work is manageable along with the school work as you are only working around 6-10 hours/week. The average payout for the job is 15-18/hr depending on where you are working.
Dislikes (Student Life): An average day of mine includes going to classes, helping students in classes as a teaching student and then studying at a library, preferably Olin or Uris Library. There were a lot of events during the orientation week, and I found most of my friends during that period. I also attended a few Indian events like Garba night, Diwali night where I can find my own community and have fun with my friends. There are numerous opportunities on campus to get involved with student clubs. Like, I am currently in the Blockchain club which deals with blockchain, ethereum, crypto-related things where we find new information and learn with peers.

De-stereotyping Cornell and Navigating the Job Hunt
Tips: The job application process in the US is quite cumbersome. The culture is vastly different compared to Asian countries. There are several research opportunities and professors are open to taking in students even after their first semester. Prepare to work on an assignment for at least 2 full weeks because there might be errors that are commonly occurring for the whole class.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty are very passionate about their field of teaching. They are mostly affiliated to some or the other company which enables them to have various research opportunities for students. Most professors are willing to spend time outside of class to clarify doubts.
Dislikes (Student Life): The students get really busy and there is not enough time to spend on other activities. Finding your community and groups that align with your interests is important in order to continue pursuing your interests. There are a lot of cultural events and hackathons that take place which connect you with industry professionals.

The professors are helpful and guide you through.
Tips: To transfer from undergraduate to graduate school is a significant shift as in graduate school you need to do everything on your own but the professors here guide you throughout the process. It is very rare to get a scholarship for master's unless you do a Ph.D. degree.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is well connected as we have the city buses called TCAT that run through the campus and connect different parts of the city to different parts of campus. The public transport is free for the first year using the Cornell card and after that, we need to pay an annual fee of 200 dollars.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are very few Indian restaurants around (just three). We have more fast food joints with few vegetarian options. We prefer cooking at home. There are some Indian grocery stores nearby so it is easier to get groceries and make the food at home if you are a vegetarian.

Amazing university for anyone who wants to do computer science or engineering in general.
Tips: The curriculum is very rigorous and the assignments are time consuming. The roads on campus are very steep as it is situated on top of a hill. There is surely a cultural shift as there are not a lot of Indian students here. Overall I am satisfied with the university and my course.
Likes (Student Life): I have classes and then spend the rest of my day doing problem sets. The campus is really beautiful. There are several events on campus like cultural, music, career, sports etc. Several companies visit the campus on a regular basis. There are various sports that are played on campus like football, lacrosse etc.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are 2 Indian restaurants in Collegetown. Additionally there is an Indian store in Collegetown as well. I prefer a mix of both cooking and eating out. For cooking at home you can order from Walmart+, and you can get groceries and various other hour items delivered to your doorstep.

Cornell has a great engineering program and all the top companies come to recruit students.
Tips: I lived abroad before moving to this college so I had a bit of an easier transition. Cornell is a great university with good career options in post-graduation. I was quite satisfied with the degree. There is a big Indian population at Cornell. The professors are dedicated to helping the students achieve their career goals.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The campus is beautiful and there are lots of activities to do in Ithaca. I enjoyed hiking around Ithaca, slope day and going to the restaurants in the area. There is an Indian Students Club as well. There are lots of planes to go for exercise as well and different sports such as squash, tennis, soccer etc. I would highly recommend Cornell.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is very accessible and the classes have more projects than other universities. This leads to a more hands-on experience. Cornell is very diverse with teachers from countries all over the world. It is a world-class Ivy League institution.
