Doctor of Medicine - Batch of 2023

We are not allowed to work part time because of our student visa.
Tips: I definitely noticed a big difference between India and the Philippines, especially in terms of food and culture. Everything was new to me, but I enjoyed learning about their culture and way of life. Most importantly, I appreciated the respect that they showed me. I was unable to get a part-time job because I was on a student visa. The schedule at my university was so busy that I didn't have time to work part-time, and the pay wasn't very good. If you are thinking about working part-time in the Philippines, you may not be able to do so.
Likes (Safety): As far as I know, you won't have any trouble with safety in the Philippines because the people there are so kind and helpful in all aspects. I remember one night when my friends and I were stuck in a city in the Philippines. The people there helped us get home safely, which was a good experience for us.

The college is good but there is an intense competition for internships.
Tips: Before you join a university, it's important to do your research. Find out about the tuition fees, additional costs and whether there are scholarships or financial aid available. It's also important to evaluate the campus culture, diversity, and opportunities for extracurricular activities. Internships are available at this university. They provided valuable learning opportunities, exposure to the professional world and a chance to develop particular skills. However, the intense competition and high level of skills required made it challenging for students to grow. On the plus side, the university also provides opportunities for students to assist in many surgeries which gives them better exposure to the surgical field.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Vegetarian options were limited and most of the food offered contained meat or seafood. Vegan options were also limited and more expensive. Filipino food is mostly sticky rice and meat. So I didn't get to eat basmati rice or non-sticky rice very often.

Davao Medical School Foundation has very less events or activities on-campus.
Tips: The campus is very nice, with a calm and good environment. The students are good, and the faculty is excellent. Their teaching methodology is quite impressive. The staff is unique, and top doctors come here to teach. There are many students doing unwanted things, but the faculty tries to manage them and focus on education-based work. There is no availability of part-time jobs at the Davao Medical School Foundation. Students are not allowed to work part-time or online, which makes it difficult for them to earn money for various purposes. I was not eligible for a scholarship. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Davao Medical School Foundation has a diverse campus.
Tips: It is a beautiful place and especially a safe one where discipline is maintained. It was quite different from my place, and it took me some time to adjust to the people. But then it was good. I was lucky enough to have a family who provided for me. I got to see how a hospital actually works, including surgery, outpatient departments, and patient treatment. I also got to go to different hospitals, and the doctors were kind enough to share their experiences and guide the students. I personally never found the time to do part-time work because of the syllabus, exams, and chores around the house. When you get a free moment, it's best to rest. Days pass like minutes, and before you know it, it's the end of the year. So finding time is quite difficult. I was well satisfied with the Davao Medical School Foundation.

The course is very tough and we are not allowed to do part time job.
Tips: The people are nice here, and the best part is that you don't need to learn the local language. I love the Philippines because of this. I didn't get a scholarship, but the course is very strict. Davao City has the best public transportation. Jeepneys and tuk-tuks are the most popular mode of transportation. The fare is only 15 pesos. Taxi are a little more expensive, but they are available 24 hours a day.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): If you're thinking of getting a job while studying at Davao Medical School Foundation, it's not for you. The school doesn't allow students to work, and you won't have time to do so anyway.

Great college for strong academics.
Tips: Davao Medical School Foundation is academically good but a bit stressful. Scholarships are not offered, so students have to pay their own way. If you can handle the stress, you will get good results. But if you fail, don't give up. Just keep trying hard and you will reach your goal. There are also many on-campus events hosted by thee university for students to participate in and learn something new. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Friendly and welcoming place.
Tips: My department is big on research and academia. I learnt how to adjust to come out of the customs and societal expectations, which took a while to adjust to. Most of my classmates are international students, and my faculty advisor is very inclusive as well. Professionalism and punctuality are very important here.
Likes (Student Life): Kind, close knit people who are friendly and won't hesitate in helping if you need. I found the campus really lovely to stroll around and explore, with some of the green space being my favourite here. There are also campus pets, which make it all more pleasant.

Close knit and tight community.
Tips: My classes are very fast-paced and relevant; they like to cover what is more marketable and important for students to know. You'll discover things about yourself that you never knew existed after spending some time here. I like how the courses are structured and the campus clubs have made me feel more welcome than I'd imagine.

Great campus and faculty.
Tips: Something not a lot of people know is that Northwestern makes its education very interdisciplinary and encourages students to explore various aspects of their major, as well as areas outside of it. The student body is diverse and supportive. Public transportation is very convenient, accessible and affordable. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences so far.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time work for international students is honestly a rarity, with few options available both on and off campus. Off-campus opportunities involve many legal hurdles, making them very tricky to obtain. You could try looking for jobs in academia or research.

One of a kind university; supportive and encouraging faculty.
Tips: My programme is something I chose out of passion and genuine interest. I had several options to study from but Northwestern made the most sense. My professor have been supportive and helpful every step of the way and their teaching has made a difference. I also have a scholarship of 8000 based on my projects and that has made studying here easier.

Short course with very good education and hectic lifestyle
Tips: Be prepared to go through a tight schedule for the next 15 months. Make good connections with seniors well before coming to campus and learn how to network with people. I'm very satisfied with the course. All is good and I am happy.
Likes (Indian Food): There are quite a good number of restaurants of every cuisine around the campus. Korean, Thai, Mexican, Indian, Nepalese and a lot more.
I prefer cooking as it gets expensive if you eat out every day. My fav was 10q and hokkaido near the campus.
Dislikes (Student Life): It's a 15-month course. You'll be in job and intern search for 3-6 months totally together, although social life is not good, due to limited time of 9-12 months free time, it depends on person to person. There are a lot of clubs in the university you should be proactive and explore various clubs on the campus. My fav is NU Adventure.
