MBBS in Philippines

Studying MBBS in Philippines for Indian students 2026–27 is an option many medical aspirants consider due to English-medium education and comparatively affordable costs. In the Philippines, the medical degree awarded is Doctor of Medicine (MD). This MD degree is treated as equivalent to MBBS in India, provided the student meets all regulations laid down by the National Medical Commission (NMC), including eligibility, course duration, and internship requirements.

Medical education in the Philippines is taught entirely in English, which reduces language barriers for Indian students. The overall structure includes a pre-medical course (BS) followed by the MD program, aligning with international medical education standards. For Indian students, qualifying NEET is mandatory to pursue medical studies abroad and to be eligible for licensing in India after graduation.

Another reason students explore MBBS in Philippines is that tuition fees and living expenses are generally lower than private medical colleges in India, though costs vary by university. For the 2026–27 academic session, Indian students must carefully verify that the chosen university complies with current NMC guidelines to ensure eligibility for licensing exams such as FMGE/NExT in India.
