Graduate Certificate in Business Management - Batch of 2024

The faculty are very helpful and understanding.
Tips: If you are considering studying at Fanshawe College be sure to apply for international scholarships and awards that are listed on the Fanshawe Academic Works website. Also consider joining campus volunteering groups to build connections as getting references is important for getting a job. While you are studying, focus on your studies first; earning money can come later. As of December 2024, I would not recommend coming to Canada for studies if you plan to settle here, as the government is imposing many barriers.
Likes (Quality of faculty): All of my professors were incredibly helpful and kind, and I still keep in touch with them even though I am no longer a student. Business management primarily involves case based studies where you earn marks based on in class participation. Most of the professors are Canadian.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees are higher but you can recover that money within 3 to 4 years if you secure a decent job afterwards. There are both pros and cons to studying abroad. One important question to consider is whether it is worth being away from your family for this opportunity.

The university offers great guidance and support.
Tips: Be prepared for academic integrity. If you are someone highly reliant on AI, it will not work well here in Canadian Colleges. The importance of self done work is high and appreciated. The support provided from the college and the Student Union is commendable and every student must take benefit of that. Students can apply for various awards and bursaries that have cash prizes involved. The bus pass is included the fee that makes traveling through the local transmit easy and at no additional cost. Overall, I highly recommend this college.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The programme has a focus on pharmaceuticals, food, medical devices, cannabis, and natural health products, and all of these are growing industries and their need will never decrease. Also, RA/QA is a very niche field and the country needs more professionals who can work in these roles. Also, the programme does align with new work permit requirements since it is related to healthcare.
Dislikes (Internships): The programme at Fanshawe College is a niche program. While the program does not have an internship component, the last semester is a co-op work term that is not compulsory. The college provides amazing support, but students must also put in the effort themselves. The college also accepted pharmacy assistant roles as co-op placements.

It is affordable and provide quality education .
Tips: Do your own research and look for scholarships.
Talk with the faculty members. Look for every possible option to make you better. You will find various people from around the world. It is a safe environment for learning and having fun. The co-op course helps to build Canadian work experience.
Likes (Public transportation): It is located in the best possible location. It is in a safe area. Along with that, the scenery surrounding the campus is really beautiful. You can focus on studying while being a member of a club. You can also choose a location accordingly. You can participate in various events on campus.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The faculty members immediately react to any queries. The process is really simplified by the faculty. We have every possible facility. Read the website and prospectus carefully. The teachers are helpful and kind. The students are from around the glob, which makes learning fun and interesting.

A diverse campus with strong engineering and business teaching.
Tips: The most important thing is to look after the scholarships which can help you to have a great life ahead. Keep your eye on new scholarships. Keep in contact with students from the college. Cultural difference is not a problem. Indian community here is quite helpful. Good luck with sending your applications.
Likes (Part time work): The part-time work is an important thing and the off campus opportunities are flexible here. On-campus jobs are available for students having good grades. You can easily manage your studies along with the job. The average payout is quite good like in other states. You can expect 9-15$.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): It's a great hub for post-study employment opportunities. Many companies extend sponsorship for work visas, particularly in fields related to technology and engineering. The salary packages here are among the most competitive in the market. So, the array of post-study jobs makes the college a great destination for students from India.

Easy to adjust to in Canada.
Tips: I believe that Canada is the country one can except the least transition from when coming from India. Homely vibes aunties and uncle everywhere, meet and greet going on. Engineering courses are good but I guess now Germany and Dutch are the most sought-after destination for me. Canada is working pretty well, no complaint at all.
Likes (Safety): Constant guideline updation is something that the college does to make students aware of the environment. Do's and Don'ts should be read carefully students don't do this and then complain to the college about bicycle thefts and other problems. Security issues are rarely seen no breaches.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Co-op internship has not started yet so it can get me hired. College has helped me with getting IT but jobs I don't know about drives. I don't think that it happens in Canada. Campus drives and placements mostly happen in India. In Canada you should know how to apply what you have learned yourself.

Excellent curriculum and teaching practice
Tips: Don't rely on the university way too much, it is not gonna spoon feed you. Academics are good and if any student wants to do research it is fine but for jobs others will be no help. I haven't received any sort of scholarship or allowance till now but I think that there is a scholarship given to 3 meritorious students so study and study! I am satisfied with the college and there was also no cultural shift. Feel like home in Canada.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty is top. I don't complain about faculty. Every lecturer is academically well proficient. Faculty to student ratio is a bit low but quality is what matters. The university does not compromise in terms of academics. Curriculum is also designed differently it is K4 and K5 of Blooms taxonomy so more focus is given to critical thinking and problem solving. For my course situation analysis is very important while answering any question. This is very much different from India.

Good university to be in.
Tips: Don't take up an on-campus accommodation trust me not worth it, live outside but nearby. There are no as such international scholarships but students who pass with over 75% overall grades are awarded with an entry level scholarship of 500$. Professors are all Ph.D. holders and have international publications. The area is beautiful with good scenery and it feels good to be under a cloud blue sky. Tuition fee is also not that much so it makes it a good university to study.
Likes (Internships): Co-op jobs are offered to most of the courses. Internship is based on selection so make sure to meet all the criteria. Comparing it with placements internship opportunities are good for my course also internships are provided. University website is constantly updated so keep a check!
Dislikes (Post study jobs): University doesn't provide much, you graduate then you are on your own. No campus placements as far as I have heard since I'm still studying but the university does help with part-time jobs so yes this is the thing. There should be something for placements as most of the students come to Canada to secure a job.

Cultural hotpot! Explore the beauty of untouched Canada
Tips: An Indian boy in a Canadian house was great. Nice people and experience for a foreign student. I had the opportunity to explore the beautiful Cape Breton, interact with hundreds of locals, and understand the economy and hospitality industry. Overall, thoroughly satisfied with the exposure offered by the Government of Nova Scotia and Cape Breton University.

The student life is stress-free and focused more on learning.
Tips: Cape Breton University is very easy-going. They have scholarships based on marks and cooperative teachers. The way they teach and structure learning is easy to understand, and they have extracurricular activities to help with your growth.
Likes (Public transportation): The curricular activities are driven by management. This university student's life is stress-free and focused on learning more. They have a slogan that says, "Learn with fun." They also bring the best out of students, which students themselves never realised.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The professors are very well-behaved toward the students, and they teach us like their own children. They are very good at some things while learning, and make it easy to understand the things. They do not show any partiality either. They give assignments and help guide and complete them.
