Bachelor of Information Technology (Software Application Development) - Batch of 2026
3.5
Enriching journey with growth, diversity and friendships.
Tips: The college offers a diverse environment, however, students need to be independent and adaptable. I faced some cultural shifts in terms of communication and social life. I received a merit-based scholarship that eases the burden of my tuition fees. Overall, I am satisfied with my course, education and university life.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is very well connected with buses and trains coming very frequently. The campus is just in front of the tram, as it is in the middle of the city. Also, the transportation is affordable witha student concession. The computer is very reliable, affordable and convenient.
Dislikes (Internships): Guidance for the internship is quite limited, with only basic workshops. Students have to look for their own opportunities. Moreover, many options are not directly relevant to the field of study. There is very limited to no networking for students to connect with industry leaders.

Underrated but exceptionally good.
Tips: Make the best use of resources in the university. Reach out when you need help. Try to look for jobs within the university. Have good communication skills. Research about the university and course structure before hand. Have information about the country and general rules.
Likes (Internships): Federation University is the only university in Australia that has the Co-operative model, which means that while studying, a student will definitely do a paid internship in IT, business, engineering or nursing. It is part of the study plan from 2025.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The process of Permanent Residence is a bit expensive and competitive at the moment. Also, the rules regarding immigration and the skills occupation list change quite quickly. If you score well and try your best, it's not impossible either. Also, must follow the rules of the immigration pathway to PR.

Master of Engineering Project Management - Batch of 2025
4.5
The university has a specialized faculty member for each course.
Tips: I have experienced a cultural shift as this place is new to us and I am learning and adopting a new culture over here. I am getting a 20 percent scholarship. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with my university, course and country. It's my best experience to date.
Likes (Safety): The security in college is excellent. No one can have a right to touch you in Australia, and it's beyond the law. Our college has provided a security guard to protect all students and additional security for all international students.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee is justified on the basis of the course. While there are cheaper colleges, they may not be as effective in the long run. The university also has a favourable study schedule that won't interfere with your part-time work.

Balanced experience with strong opportunities for self growth.
Tips: Teaching is mostly PPT- based, so self learning and staying updated with industry trends are important. Assignments follow APA7 format, so basic knowledge of it helps. The transition was manageable, but adjusting to independent learning and balancing everything took time. I did not receive a merit-based scholarship as it was not there for us at our time for our University for few countries including India. I am satisfied, but success here depends largely on personal effort.
Likes (Indian Food): There are plenty of Indian restaurants near the university and across Perth, making it easy to find authentic food from home. There are many Indian, Asian and fast-food options nearby. Most meals range between 15-25, with some affordable takeaway choices for students. I prefer cooking at home as I'm health conscious and want to save money as a student. I only eat out occasionally for a change.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is knowledgeable but most of the teaching is done directly from PPT slides. We often need to update ourselves with the latest technologies and industry trends to stay job-ready. There is room for more practical and interactive learning. The department mainly follows a PPT- based teaching approach along with presentations and group assignments. Most assignments must be submitted in APA7 format, which was very new and challenging for me at the beginning. Over time, it helped me improve my research and writing skills.

Waste of money and resources.
Tips: I would prefer not to go to this university if one is going for any business degree. I would prefer Curtin University and UWA more than ECU because I never felt like studying for a Masters degree. The grading structure is designed in such a way that students stress about passing rather than being creative and learning new things. The scholarships were not available for Indian students here but for some rural backward countries. I would suggest one to go to Australian colleges rather than universities because the fees in college are merely 40% of the university prices and one can enrol in several online courses with the rest of the money and build up their resume Linkedin and connections.
Likes (Indian Food): The food business is booming in Western Australia. You can find different cuisines in the various parts of Perth. If one does not like hotel food, people provide tiffin services of home cooked food with good quality and a reasonable price. The food items available such as fruits and vegetables are of premium quality.
Dislikes (Internships): The quality of study services is poor and leads to less chances of scoring good internships. Moreover, companies prefer domestic students over international students. Also some people took advantage of students to get their work done on internships without compensation. For an entry level person, there is not much probability of scoring a good internship and a job easily irrespective of your scores and GPA.
