Kingston University London - beautiful student life with healthy academics but find your own job
Tips: You have to be ready for everything. The cultural shift took some time, as we lived in our indian mindset where we adjust to everything. In the UK, nobody judges you, nor does anyone really care about you. They are kind people, but still, you know it's not your home country. You have to stay independent all the time. No one will be there to rescue. You will learn a lot of survival tricks while staying there. Overall, the UK journey was a roller coaster where I was working hard for the degree and for the finances. I had high hopes that I would get sponsorship, but it didn't last for long. I was very disappointed knowing that I didn't get that scholarship. It was 5000 pound aid, and it slipped out of my hands. Later I came to know it was highly competitive for an indian to crack that. There are a lot of aspects to it. I was satisfied with the curriculum but not with post-internships or placements. It was a bit worrying as we have an uncertain future after the Master's. So, in short, we need to find our own place in the UK job market.
Likes (Public transportation): The university has its own college bus. So it is easy to commute to the university if you are staying in the same town. There is a public bus or university bus always available for everyone. The bus is very affordable when compared to other modes like Uber or Yulu rides. The underground tubes are the best way to travel in and around London.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): For me the PSW renewal felt too much. Being a student who has already spent a lot in tuition feels, the visa feels should be much lesser. I had to come back due to personal commitments. But if given a chance I would definitely settled in a town like Kingston Upon Thames. It is a very pleasant place to live in with kind people around you.

Finding a job in the UK is very difficult due to high competition and limited opportunities.
Tips: While the university is good, know how to get take most out of it. Attend lectures, talk to professors, and take guidance from them. In addition, start applying for jobs at least 3 to 4 months before the end of your course. Employers take time to reply, and there are many applicants.
Likes (Value for money): The university is amazing and has free bus transportation. Also, the student accommodation is good, where you share the kitchen space but can get an en-suite room. You can access a common room to spend time with your friends and do your assignments. Overall, Kingston is an amazing place.
Dislikes (Internships): Finding a job in the UK is very difficult due to high competition and limited opportunities. To succeed, you have to tailor your CV, talk to people, and be active on LinkedIn. If you are seeking part-time employment, you must carry your resume with you when you visit random stores and ask if there are any available jobs.

No big companies hire interns, especially students.
Tips: Use your network of important people, as that is the only way you are going to get a job. Forget big companies and go wherever is going to work best, save what you can, and travel if you have extra money. One thing that I regret not doing was travelling while I worried about jobs and everything. Just live life and you'll figure it out.
Likes (Public transportation): Great transportation as there is connectivity everywhere and it's way economical and convenient, as Uber and a car cost as much as people’s groceries for a week. Be aware of areas you should not visit, especially by public transportation, as those areas are very unsafe. The rest is great. Get a student Oyster card, as it saves 40% of the cost. Don’t use a bank card, as they don’t have a spending cap. A 40% discount is a lot; that’s about 1,000 pounds per year.
Dislikes (Internships): No one gives internships. No big companies hire interns, especially students, as they do not hire students who are only allowed to work 20 hours. And guess what, we are not allowed to work more than 20 hours. That is something you need to understand before you go. It's not demotivating, but it's a taste of reality.

College provides a portal where you can see and apply for internships.
Tips: Make sure you have relevant experience; otherwise, you'll struggle to find a job post studies. I saw that most students were coming to the UK without having proper preparation. Those students struggle a lot with part-time and full-time jobs. If you are not planning to work in the UK, your purpose is only to complete studies, then it's okay to come to Kingston.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport was easily available. Even college has its own buses, which makes commuting very easy for students. You can apply for a student Oyster card to make your travel cheaper and faster. My personal monthly expenditure on transport was below 100 pounds.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships were not offered, and the one that I managed to find on my own was not suitable with my visa restrictions of 20 hours a week. College does provide a portal where you can see and apply for internships, but those internships are very restricted because of the visa restrictions.

The university is good, the faculty are sweet yet unpredictable.
Tips: The college offers scholarships to students with financial difficulties. I wasn't qualified for it, so I didn't apply. But my time at Kingston was a life-changing experience. I transitioned in a lot of ways, not just because I was at Kingston, but because it's a new country of living for me. So from independent living to studying and figuring out everything on my own, I changed as a person in my thoughts and personality and gained more confidence, plus learned a lot about the Western culture as well.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus has its own bus service, which is great. There is an app for it, and one can see its schedule. The bus connects the campus to all the important city centre places and to the other campuses as well. It's free, hygienic, and a service that not many other universities provide.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty was approachable and accessible only during work hours because one can have queries anytime. The teaching methodology is good, with a mix of theoretical and practical work that provides good exposure and mental stimulation to prepare you for the real world. However, I thought the faculty was not very diverse in terms of nationality. There were Indian professors and some of Indian origin, but apart from the local British faculty, there weren't many others, or perhaps my department didn't have many.

I feel that Kingston University is a platform to upskill your career.
Tips: I suggest the students first make sure to apply early so that you will get the offer from Kingston University early. I also recommend to choose the student's campus accommodation in the University itself which is safe and cheaper rather than apartment.

This University has given me a platform to be successful in life.
Tips: I recommend the students to find the accommodation early as soon as they get the admit from the University. The on-campus accommodation is a good choice without any hassle. If your preference is on campus accommodation then book it as soon as possible without being late.
Likes (Part time work): I must say the quality of life in the campus of Kingston University is amazing. We can do lots of fun activities apart from classes. We do have many activities to do and all the international students from different countries share their thoughts and are friendly.
Dislikes (Student Life): The quality of faculty at Kingston University is really amazing and I would rate 5 out of 5. The faculty is research oriented and they teach the syllabus in an understanding manner. The way of faculty here is research and practical oriented and they also help students in many aspects.

Excellent Transport and Academics, but job hunting requires high independence
Tips: Before joining, students should know that finding an on-campus part-time job is very difficult, making independent off-campus hunting essential. Transitioning to the UK brought a major cultural shift that demanded fast self-reliance, though I did not receive any scholarship. Ultimately, I am highly satisfied with the country, university environment, and course curriculum.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport received a perfect 5/5 rating because of the excellent connectivity of the campus and easy accessibility to it. The most remarkable thing about this choice is that the university has its own bus service that runs continuously from 8 am to 7 pm, linking the campus and university premises and considerably minimizing the cost of commuting. Besides that, public transport in the city is extremely cheap and convenient and offers many budget benefits, including daily caps and hopper fares.
Dislikes (Part time work): A grade of 2 out of 5 was awarded since acquiring part-time jobs at the university is extremely tough, compelling you to go hunting for part-time jobs outside the institution. But then again, with good time management skills, having a job would be quite easy and would not affect your studies. Moreover, the pay rate is quite stable and grows each year beyond the 12.26 pounds per hour rate.

Be Confident and don't fall in traps.
Tips: I don't think it is going to be like heaven or something. I feel good enough to be satisfied with myself because no matter which college I choose, it makes no difference. What is more crucial for getting hired is networking and communication skills. It took me some time to adjust here due to the obvious culture change. As far as scholarships are concerned, I found a part-time job to pay my bills.
Likes (Part time work): There is every reason to give a 5-star rating for a part-time student job since it acts as an ideal transition from financial self-reliance to career readiness. It enables students to earn enough money to afford expenses such as textbooks and housing while creating a strong professional network and CV at the same time.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Available companies: More than 127,700 licensed sponsors are registered in the UK to employ foreign citizens, according to the GOV.UK register of Licensed Sponsors. Among these sponsors are multinational technology companies, banks, engineering companies, and NHS trusts. • Jobs and salaries: Most common jobs that are sponsored include high-skill occupations of RQF Level 6 or higher (for example, Software Developers, Business Analysts, Mechanical Engineers) and unique job positions that are on the Immigration Salary List. According to current (2026) UK immigration regulations, the general salary level for skilled worker visa holders is £41,700 per year (or 100% of the specified "going rate" for that occupation code, whichever is higher).

My 'more than just a degree experience' at Kingston University.
Tips: The education in the UK totally meets my expectations, and I am very satisfied with this experience. The staff there is wonderful, and it helped me have an easy time there. Moreover, the cultural change had a positive effect on me. It is true that the students there were highly encouraged to take part in classroom sessions; thus, it helped me improve my soft skills significantly. The cultural change regarding the hours of college was rather difficult to get accustomed to, but having classes three days a week made things easier when I had to submit assignments and do tasks. The university provided excellent resources to make everything easy for us. Although there are many scholarships in Kingston, they depend on your skillset and financial state. My friend got one during her studies.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation is really wonderful. Even though the journey takes time when using the bus route, it's very cheap, which is good for students. There are trains, buses, electric bikes, and even rental bikes. The public transportation is both convenient and cheap.

A good college and recommended college for engineering.
Tips: You never have to look back once you join the field. There are no caste discriminations.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The state offers you a high paid salary job and offers you to stay and work there. You get paid high with all the accomodations for free. Less hours of job and salary.
Dislikes (Safety): I felt to give 4 star because every one has their own opinion. There are no such activity that concerns your safety. Everyone is busy with his or her own life no one cares about other.
