Balancing academics and social life with best value for money.
Tips: I did not get a scholarship, but a lot of people did get a scholarship. If you have really good extracurricular activities and a really supportive SOP, then there is a high chance of getting a scholarship. We have a lot of cultural activity happening, and it's a very progressive city.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is very well connected to the city. Easy and affordable access to trams, the metro, biking and buses. Multiple modes of transport are available throughout the city, connecting the university campus to the rest of the city. The biking culture is superior in the Netherlands, with connectivity in the entire country. This eliminates the reliance on expensive cabs and public transport at odd times.
Dislikes (Part time work): Getting a part-time job can be tough, whether on campus or off campus, as it requires the restaurants/cafes to get a special arrangement (money paid to the government) for employees who are non-EU citizens. It can also be really tough to manage a part-time job along with a 1-year master's and maintain a social life. But it surely is possible. The average payout is approximately 12 euros / hour.

Maastricht University's PBL is extremely efficient and is highly recommended.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should be prepared for a cultural shift. This includes walking or biking a lot, a more work-life balance oriented culture, simpler food, and a high party/drinking culture. Despite these differences, I am very satisfied with the quality of education at my university, and I find my course very interesting and well taught.
Likes (Safety): The country, especially the city of Maastricht is really safe. Watch out for bike thefts though. There are often police patrols late at night, as well as the prison/rehabilitation system is very good in this country and the crime rate is generally very low. I have had many instances of returning from events or parties quite late at night alone or with few friends and we are able to walk/bike without a care of getting in any trouble. We observed the same confidence in safety amongst practically everyone else.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Not many Indian restaurants are there in my locality but mainly Turkish/ Surinamese or standard 'European' restaurants. I prefer cooking myself as I can eat healthy and save on cost. It is fairly easy to get a hang of cooking, especially if you are not picky about what you eat and assimilate with the respective eating habits of the place you live in. Doing so also helps save money as you don't have to get ingredients or cooking accessories considered foreign or exotic in such places.

Best university life I had
Tips: Moving out here definitely brought a bit of a culture shock at first, but honestly, it’s been pretty easy to get used to. I actually landed a couple of scholarships too, which took a massive weight off my shoulders. When it comes to the actual studies at KIT, I'm seriously happy with my course and how the university runs things.
Karlsruhe itself is an amazing city to live in as a student, and the overall quality of life is great. There are a ton of cool spots and attractions right nearby—like hanging out at the Schloss gardens—and the entire region has a really vibrant, international vibe with people from all over the place. Plus, because Karlsruhe is such a major tech hub, the local job market is solid, so finding good working student roles or internships actually feels doable.

Great campus and very amicable staffs and professors.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that knowing German up to the B1 level will be an advantage. Scholarships are available for women, and students get a lot of things at a discounted rate, including insurance and travel. I personally like Germany and its work culture, and everything here is a piece of cake if you know German. However, the top preference will be for German-speaking people with at least B1 level German.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professors provide excellent guidance and use well-equipped teaching strategies. They are very understanding and very liberal. They are very involved in the students' calibre and are great mentors. They have a really cool structured program for a better understanding. So far, I have no complaints.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian restaurants are a bit too expensive, especially for students who are working part-time and trying to manage their expenses. Turkish takeaway is a better option for students, or you can eat at franchises like McDonald's. Learning to cook for yourself is the best option.

Tips: The tuition fees for all the international students in all the universities in Baden-Württemberg state of Germany is 1500 Euros at least. Knowing German language would be extremely helpful to connect with other students, but living in Karlsruhe without knowing German is also possible. Everyone at the Bürgerbüro can speak English and a lot of shopkeepers do it too.
Likes (Post study jobs): KIT has a very good reputation among everyone and the employers in Germany. Mechanical Engineering and Informatics are two of the most popular programs here and after successfully getting the degree, getting a job at a company like Mercedes Benz or Siemens is relatively easy.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The free public transport zone included for students here is not as big compared to other cities in Germany, and public transport is only accessible for free from 6pm-6am every weekend. It is available for free on every holiday. But the quality of transport is very good. A network of bus and trains is provided for a pretty good range of travel, even upto a French city called Lauterbourg.
