You won't learn significantly more than you did during your bachelor's degree in India.
Tips: I got bicentary global futures scholarship, the allowance is 8000 pounds. I am not satisfied with the course, country and university; they don't consider the difficulties that international students face. I believe education in India is far better than in the UK.
Likes (Public transportation): It is connected very nicely; there are trams and buses. It's expensive if you compare it to India. The prices increase every year. It's convenient to walk and then take the bus. If you travel in larger groups, take a cab, and you can split the same amount. The bus fare is 2 pounds one way.
Dislikes (Internships): You just get guidance for resume making, but you have to find and apply by yourself. No relevant internships. They dont take international students at all. You will see that all the Britishers of your class are getting it but not you as an international student.

Strong faculty, academically inclined, but poor career support.
Tips: Manchester + Uom genuinely changed me. I'd lived abroad in Sweden before, so moving countries wasn't new, but Manchester hits different. Manchester feels different, cloudy, social, and full of character. Living here has made me more patient and open-minded just by living in such a diverse place. It is also super safe compared to India, and that safety unlocks a new kind of confidence; you start feeling like the world is your playground. I become more independent, more secure in my own style, and more me. Day-to-day is very "Oxford Road main arc" where life circles lectures, library, coffee runs, and constantly running into people because the whole stretch is basically student central. When I am not in lectures, I am mostly hiking around speak district, people watching around NQ, or on my way to inhale food on Curry Mile. And the rain is super annoying at first, but as you go through the seasons, you go from gloomy to romanticising the rain, where later on you huddle up and imagine yourself as an indie movie character. Academically, the University of Manchester is strong. For data Science, a lot of teaching staff are from other departments, so they are genuinely experts in their fields. All the professors are warm and welcoming in general. I would suggest the university for students who want to pursue further studies. A lot of students secured partial and full ride schlorhsip, especially within the school of engineering and AMBS. Overall, being in university is strong academically, but there is not much support career wise 70% of the class always move back home, and the rest struggle due to international passports and strict government regulations. Even though I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, I think it is a better option to apply in the EU or Australia.
Dislikes (Internships): The University of Manchester has a dedicated careers centre but the support feels more like it only exists in theory. The practical support available for postgrad students seeking internships is limited in effectiveness. The opportunities are mostly available to students who already carry relevant work experience (2+ years) in their home country or are British passport holders. Many capable fresh college graduates struggle to secure a job despite making active efforts. There are no readily available internships; the university does have some programs in different schools, such as engineering or medicine but again these resources are mostly centred around undergrad students.

The city is well connected.
Tips: The culture is a bit different but one can easily adapt to it. I did not avail any scholarship for this course. It's a self learning course, the professors help with the work but the majority of the work is expected to be done by the student. This is a bit different from the learning structure in India.
Likes (Public transportation): The city is well connected. Bus is the cheapest mode of transportation 5-6 for an entire day. There are many reliable alternatives as well, in case of schedule changes due to weather, strike, etc. The transport system is very efficient for students.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Current changes in government might influence the route to ILR. Once someone lands a sponsorship, the route to ILR is quite straightforward. Would recommend students to have a look at the roles that are currently in demand before picking their course/specialisation.

Great experiences, vibrant city and a good student culture.
Tips: For my particular course which was the MBA, it is vital to have solid work experience. This is important for doing well in the course and for getting a job later. -There are many cultural differences as compared to India, but a student will experience them only when they arrive here. You need to be more outgoing as compared to India, be able to hold conversations with a barista of a coffee shop as well as a director in a company. Manchester is very diverse and is a wonderful city for students, very vibrant, very happening and not as expensive. I was awarded a scholarship of 7000 GBP based on my work experience and GMAT score. I was awarded this by the university and did not apply for it separately. Very satisfied with everything, I believe this is the best value for money MBA among the top business schools in the UK.
Likes (Safety): Manchester is a safe town, in general UK is quite safe. I have been around the city at 3 AM too and never felt unsafe. There are probably one or two streets where I would not venture out alone at night but for the most part it is safe. I have never had any bad incidents. The most popular crime that takes place is phone snatching, but there is a very easy solution to this, which is not to use your phones while walking on the street.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Various global cuisines are available in Manchester which is the most vibrant city in the UK outside of London. Indian food options are quite limited/average compared to other UK cities. I usually prefer cooking myself but occasionally eat out too.

Excellent and friendly university.
Tips: The University of Manchester is excellent. It is filled with people who are there to help you, and you have the freedom to explore your hobbies. I adjusted quite well with everyone and did not experience much cultural shift. I received an academic scholarship worth 7,000. If you are eligible, the university takes you into consideration without having to apply. I am quite satisfied with the university and the country. However, I would have liked it if the course had been paced more effectively and we had been taught more relevant material.
Likes (Indian Food): It is a cultural hub and you can find any cuisine quite easily. Especially in Manchester there is a street called Curry Mile which has shops from India, Pakistan and even Middle Eastern countries. The pricing varies from shop to shop. I prefer cooking my food because it allows me to put as much spice in the food as I want.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I'm not sure how many companies offer sponsored visas, but there are quite a few. Sponsorship is not based on the role; however, roles in AI and data Science see more sponsorship. For a sponsored role, your salary should be above 32,000 GBP while junior roles tend to start from 24,000-26,000 GBP.

Good courses and high competition.
Tips: The business and STEM courses are among the most popular programs here so the quality of education is high and so is demand hence, course registration can and will get intense. The city is very vibrant and cheaper to live as compared to cities like London. Very global campus and professors are very good at what they do. Part time work is limited so you'll have to keep trying for one that fits your schedule.

The university is good but can do better in terms of administration and student services.
Tips: I was quite confused at the start but the student body is helpful and so are the professors. The university can do better in terms of administration and student services, but other than that, Manchester is a nice and liveable city. Winters are brutal, and things shut down early in the evening. The maximum you can work is 20 hours, so be very careful to maintain that.

The university is good and classes are collaborative and engaging.
Tips: Learn to make your own interpretations, as classes are not based on rote learning or mugging up from the textbooks. The professors are keen to hear your thoughts and opinions out loud, and classes are collaborative as well. Lots of fellow Indians and Indian food places are spread around the city. The city of living is less than London but high nonetheless.

Maintain your work life balance.
Tips: Studying here has increased my exposure and growth, and Manchester is a very multicultural place so you'll meet people from all around the world. The classes are intense but you can adjust the schedule accordingly. My program is more research oriented than I had imagined. People are friendly but reserved.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Securing a job is increasingly difficult but I've observed individuals finding employment after months or even years of searching. Ensure your permit is valid and allows you to stay in the country post-graduation.

Tips: The programs are based on industry relevance and require analytical thinking. Good university where different culture meets.
Tips: The University of Manchester is a good place to experience different cultures because students from different cultures and countries come there. Some scholarships have to be applied for 7 months before the university starts and the university has professors from different countries and experiences. There are career guidance and CV preparation guides available at the University. However the UK job market is tough for international students, so finding an internship or job takes many applications and rejections. Unfortunately, there are no internships available for Master's students.
Likes (Indian Food): There are plenty of restaurants for every taste including Indian, Chinese, Italian and Middle Eastern cuisine as well as popular fast food joints like Subway, McDonald’s and Domino’s. However dining out at these establishments can get expensive and I personally find it much more cost effective to cook my meals.

Amazing university in a great city with friendly, welcoming and fun-loving locals.
Tips: The hardest part at the beginning was food. I did not know how to cook many things, but I adapted. Most people I know from India chose to live in catered halls to avoid this problem, and some knew how to cook. Living and taking care of yourself also comes as a cultural shock, you need to do your own cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, etc. Have an open mind, and you'll be fine. There are lots of part-time jobs available, but you have to put in the effort to look for those. Most jobs hire on a casual basis, which means they are flexible, and you can assign shifts based on your studies. The university also has many part-time roles available. Most pay is minimum wage on an hourly basis. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Internships): Securing an internship comes more down to personal skills rather than what university you attend. Most big companies use a holistic assessment approach to select candidates. It is important to be focused from the very start, join societies, and get some part-time work. This will surely help. The university has a brilliant careers service which you can use.

Enriching academic and cultural experience at UoM.
Tips: When you come to the university you can expect a cultural shift and a need to adapt to independent living. Engaging with your fellow students and the university as a whole will help you adjust to academic rigour and cultural diversity. The faculty at this college is highly knowledgeable, supportive and experienced. The professors are approachable and provide prompt email responses. The focus on practical applications is effective and engaging. The faculty comes from diverse backgrounds which brings a global perspective to the classroom. I am highly satisfied with my course, university and the UK's cultural richness.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The Indian food options in Manchester are decent but not always authentic. There are two types of restaurants in the locality budget friendly ones like Bundobust and Chaiwala where a meal costs 7-10 pounds per person and mid-range ones like Dishoom and Mowgli where a meal costs 15-25 pounds per person. I usually cook my own meals.

Diverse and culturally rich university with a lot of internal opportunities.
Tips: The University of Manchester is a diverse and culturally rich university with a lot of internal opportunities. The course content is good and designed for students with at least a year or two of experience in the field of study. The university is recognized globally and has a good reputation. Student diversity is above 90%. Different types of scholarships are available so students can apply for international scholarships.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The quality of teaching and the professors at this university are fabulous. The professors are very experienced in their subject of teaching. They are from different countries and have studied at top-tier universities. They also have ground-level experience in their fields. In addition, the faculty is very helpful and provides support for assignments.
Dislikes (Internships): The university does not provide internships. You have to find one on your own time outside of study hours. Also, it is difficult to manage a part-time job, your classes, assignments, and coursework because the courses are intense and you have classes three to four days a week.

Good college with amazing experience.
Tips: I was awarded a scholarship that provided a tuition discount. I applied for the scholarship online, and the process was straightforward. There were some cultural adjustments, but the large Indian population made the transition easier. I am very satisfied with the University of Manchester, the course I took, and the country itself.
Likes (Public transportation): The city is well connected by bus and trams and has multiple railway stations. Cabs are also easily available. The campus is in the centre of the city, so it is well-connected. It is also a walking distance from the city centre. Public transport is very affordable and they offer passes too.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It all depends on whether you've got a job or not, and whether the company wants to sponsor a visa or not. The chances of permanent settlement are pretty slim as of now given the global scenario and slim job market. But if given a chance, I would like to settle in the UK, barring some cities.

A break from the corporate world with preparation for the real world.
Tips: There definitely is a cultural shift here that we face, and it is much better than home so it won't be an issue settling down. We should be prepared for the hard work. The university rankings matter but not a lot, so you are mostly on your own. There is no placement department or anything like that, so we are ourselves responsible for job hunting and everything, and as in every other country, it's not that easy to get a job.
Likes (Student Life): The college community/student union has a lot of activities planned throughout the year, which really helps us lay off some streams from all the studies. Festivals, especially big ones like Diwali/Holi, are a lot of fun as all students get together and have fun. Student clubs are fun, but I wasn't able to participate a lot given the course structure and assignments.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are part-time options available, but the course is a little tiring, which leaves very few windows for working. Having said that, there is a lot of competition given the number of students and dependents, so it is also hard to get a part-time job. Also, because of this competition, employers, specifically restaurants, exploit the students by paying them cash in hand, which is much lower than the minimum wage. But yes, I have a few friends who got a good part-time job, but such examples are pretty low.

Lots of opportunities available for career growth and development.
Tips: Student should be clear about the course modules of their chosen programme. They should book the accommodation well in advance before coming to the city to avoid any last minutes inconveniences. They should check for various scholarships and apply on priority basis. They should be in touch with Indian Society of Manchester which organises social meetings for upcoming students.
Likes (Indian Food): Manchester offers a wide variety of cuisines, particularly South Asian cuisines. Its super convenient with regards to food as the city offer cuisines, snacks and local food items for their daily life style. Manchester has so many interesting cafes to visit which adds so much value to your student life experience.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): In the UK permanent immigration and settlement options are quite difficult due to government policies. The company hiring you as an employee needs to sponsor your visa which is an expensive and lengthy process for the company. However, if a student manages to get a job in the UK it is considered a better option as the lifestyle, career growth and future opportunities there are better than India.

It is good for academics, and the staff are very friendly. You will get so much exposure.
Tips: Don't have too many expectations and whatever you are seeing on social media is not going to be the same. This is really going to be tough and most people atleast once, will regret the decision in the initial period. After getting some part time and friends that will be okay, or you will get used to it. So prepare yourself mentally to do everything on your own.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Under current UK rules gaining ILR or permanent settlement is still possible but increasingly challenging. The traditional route allows people on qualifying visas such as skilled worker or family visas to apply after about five years of continuous lawful residence. The government is considering changes that could extend this period to ten years or more.

The lecturers are passionate about their lessons and reciprocity is expected in the classrooms so try to be more participative. The campus is very global with a good support system in place.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are something you'll have to figure out for yourself as the university can help out to an extent rest you'll be on your own. See if you can get any tie ups with places or ask professors for help, as they can be quite useful as well here.

The campus is diverse, safe, and very welcoming for newcomers. Reputed quality teaching and a beautiful city.
Tips: The university campus is tremendous. It's beautiful, the quality of teaching is marvellous. The only downside is its difficulty of getting a part-time job. It is not that easy. It's a small city with a limited number of opportunities apart from all these things. I availed 4000 of a scholarship.
Likes (Value for money): The University of Liverpool is part of the Russell Group, so the standard of teaching and faculty is quite high. The living costs in Liverpool is very low compared to London. My tuition fee is around 27,000 per year for the course of M.Sc. Marketing.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are very few food options as an international student and you struggle to find them in a restaurant. The city is not that huge. There are limited options. There are mainly Chinese restaurants. There are Indians in Pakistani restaurants as well, but they also lack the relatively authentic food.

My journey at the University of Liverpool.
Tips: There was a culture shift that I experienced. The way they talk including their accent, their politeness, was amazing to witness. Their adherence to public regulations, including transportation and public conduct, is admirable and inspiring. I availed a scholarship of 5000 GBP. Any international student can avail that.
Likes (Student Life): In my first month of college life, I received a lot of little freebies. Being a student comes with a lot of advantages because you get access to a lot of discounted prices or coupons. All the beauty stores/food restaurants have almost a 10% discount for students. Apart from this, the campus is really big and has 2 libraries. A lot of events are organised in my university which requires student involvement. A lot of career fairs are hosted by my university quite often. There are several student clubs/communities, for instance, banking society, the gym, the swimming club, women in business club, poetry club, theatre club and so on.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It has become very difficult to get an ILR in the UK. Due to the current rules and regulations, getting a job has become a serious issue/challenge. If given a chance, I would not want to permanently immigrate to this country.

It was tough but worth it.
Tips: It is a difficult shift, living alone, managing your finances, loneliness, but it's also fruitful, as once you overcome these hardships, nothing is holding you back. The University of Liverpool offer good scholarships. I availed a 30% discount, as I had a 9 CGPA in my Bachelor's.
Likes (Part time work): A lot of part-time jobs are available for students, especially those in the UK who are doing higher education. It can be tough managing both college and work at first, but it gets easier with flexible, well-organised jobs.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are no placements available. It becomes very much difficult to get jobs because they are left on their own while also exploring the job market.

Liverpool is 100% safe for students.
Tips: It's really a pleasure to study at an academic and sports oriented university. I was also granted with an ULMS scholarship, which provided me with a cover of 5000GBP. I got the scholarship on the basis of my previous academic achievements. The people are fun loving and the football culture over there is a must to experience.
Likes (Safety): Liverpool is 100% safe for the students as it's the UK's most student friendly destination. You have campus safety programs which will give you insights into campus and travel safety. There is 24/7 availability of communal resources. You will find Security and Police all over the city to ensure the smooth functioning of events and weekend nights.
Dislikes (Part time work): The options for part-time work are endless. Starting from the retail sector to security, you can find your best suited line of work and apply through IndeedUK or Glassdoor. There are campus jobs too, which provide you with a perfect work-life balance, but they are not posted often.

The university has very good faculty members, plenty of resources and great learning outcomes.
Tips: Getting along with the culture of this country was pretty easy if you were open to accepting changes. The university is a very friendly place where everybody is willing to help you at any time. I was offered a 5000-pound scholarship based on my undergrad scores. I love my university, this country and its people. I have never felt like not getting along with the local people here, I have made pretty good friends locally, other than people from my country. The Scouse accent was a bit hard to understand because it's very different from the rest of the accents in England. But I got used to it. Finding part part-time job at university was not easy, and I haven't gotten any opportunities. But the university itself is right in the middle of the city, so you will get other options around if you try.
Likes (Value for money): The university has very good faculty members, great learning outcomes, and you also get plenty of resources to help you study on campus. The classrooms are great, and the labs are well-equipped. The lecturers and tutors are very knowledgeable and helpful. When it comes to infrastructure, it offers a lot of space for students to feel comfortable. There are two libraries where I often spend time reading or studying. There is also a common place called a guild, where you have bars, a cafe and a gaming area, and it is also a place where I choose to spend my time working on assignments and projects. I have never regretted choosing this university or spending this money on it. It is ranked 147th in the world, is in the top 20 universities in the UK. It is also a Russel group university, which is why the fee can be justified.
Dislikes (Internships): Finding internships through the university might not be as easy as we imagine. I would recommend finding internships on your own via LinkedIn and other job platforms. To gain experience, unpaid internships are easier to obtain. It all depends on how consistent you are in applying for jobs and your skills.

Fun-loving, environmental, world-class university.
Tips: The University of Liverpool is a world-class institution that is fun-loving, environmentally friendly, and supportive of its students. As an alumnus, I suggest that you, as a student, prepare for a challenging and fulfilling life at the university where you will be involved in academic activities, sports, student societies, and so much more. I was lucky enough to receive a 2500 GBP scholarship that was a Commonwealth scholarship given to students from Commonwealth countries. I was very satisfied with the university and the great course I took. If you’re an international student, be prepared for an adjustment period, but don’t worry, you’ll get used to things. I recommend that international students not let any doubts about the country deter them from attending.
Likes (Safety): Liverpool is a safe student city. It is safe if the student is within his limits of enjoyment; otherwise, every place has bad incidents going on. Be responsible wherever you go. I have never had a bad experience because I knew what I was doing and was always together with friends. It is safe if you are always in a group and not roaming around late at night alone to explore.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are easy to get if you have a basic experience of 1- 2 years. There are many number of opportunities for internships in all fields. If applied on the right time and if it aligns with your background you will surely get it. Internships are available in my field, too. Just have to learn to apply sooner and connect with higher level employees on social media like LinkedIn.

The job market is in crisis, and it is difficult for international students because of visa.
Tips: The system is clear and easy. The assignments are given priority and are easy to do as well. Just have to give enough dedicated time and effort to clear the assignments. The exam system is handy as well, and easily scoreable question papers. I had a scholarship of 2500 pounds because India falls under the Commonwealth countries. I'm having a hard time finding an internship. As a Master's graduate, I've been finding it tough because companies provide internships to undergrad students instead of us. The job market is in crisis right now, and we international students are having an even harder time than usual because of Visa problems. Companies aren't ready to sponsor us, no matter what they say.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in Liverpool is so easy to use. The buses are cheap, charging only 2 pounds to take you anywhere within the city. Even the trains are cheap. It all adds up to a fast and convenient life here in Liverpool.

A smart choice for a bright future in a new country.
Tips: The transition was pretty smooth. Initially, I needed some understanding of how things were working, and once I grasped that, I was able to learn new things and develop myself. I received a scholarship from the university, which is given along with the university application itself. The amount is 5000 pounds. I am very satisfied with the university, the course, and the country, where I gained a new perspective on things and began to learn independent while understanding different cultures.
Likes (Safety): I found the area to be quite safe and never faced any safety challenges. The other safety facilities include CCTV surveillance, well-lit streets, emergency helplines and so on. Even the student accommodation needs access to cars multiple times to enter the premises. One positive experience was when I went to my friend's place late at around 3 am. The street were deserted, but I observed some police surveillance in the area during this time which made me feel safe.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK offers a structured and transparent immigration system with a clear process for obtaining a visa and permanent immigration options by being in skilled workers visa category. My chances of getting permanent settlement are fairly good, as I am pursuing a Master's degree in a high-demand field, specifically Data Science and AI. There are several opportunities for roles related to this degree in the UK. Obtaining a proper job with the necessary skills and meeting the requirements of the skilled worker visa would help in securing the Permanent settlement option. I would consider it seriously. The quality of life and opportunities in the country are immense for the role I am interested in.

The University of Liverpool is a space for exploring and enhancing your knowledge and skills.
Tips: Students should try to find more scholarships that your courses offer, you will get all the necessary information on the university website. I suggest that you try to connect with the alumni and ask them for suggestions. They can provide you with valuable information that can help you make an informed decision. Find nearby accommodation before joining the course in person for easy accessibility. Try to be a part of as many societies as possible and connect people from your department before joining for better advice. Use the international student ambassador facility to have a chat to clear your doubts with university representatives.

A mistake during covid time. Think twice before joining this university.
Tips: This course is not worth the money. You can look for other universities within the same fee range. The university does some scholarships, you don’t need to apply separately but make sure that SOP is perfect. I was fortunate to receive the ULMS Future Leaders Scholarship worth 24500.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation is very good. Frequent bus service from all parts of the city plus train service from nearby met cities. Quite affordable, bus tickets are 2 pounds for a single and a day pass is around 5 pounds, which is quite reasonable compared to other cities, but trains are expensive.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There is uncertainty regarding visa rules and the government. The UK job market is not stable at all and it is better to look for other countries at this point. The job market is saturated and clearly, it's a joke. I would personally recommend Australia, the US and Germany.

University is fun but it can not guarantee about jobs.
Tips: The University of Liverpool is a different experience for me from the university I went to in India. This has much more to offer in terms of education, entertainment, sports, and everything except for jobs. Maybe I sound pessimistic, but it's really difficult to find a job here, I have not gotten a good full-time job, let alone not even a part-time job. So, if bagging a job is your main goal, you have to give a lot of effort.

Great public transportation to explore the city and the country.
Tips: The University of Liverpool is a fun place to pursue a Master's degree. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from an under-average college, so I decided to pursue a good university. This university is in the Russel group and one of the most prestigious in the world. I'm a big football fan, and LFC and Beatles are here so, I had my reasons to come here. Make sure you have the right reasons before selecting a university. Look out for internship or part-time opportunities as well. Public transportation is almost always available so make sure to use the best of it to explore the city.
