Tips: The workload in NCI can be sometimes demanding. Time management is very important especially if you want to work part-time with your studies. The transition was smooth overall to Dublin. You need to get adjusted to the weather and cost of living in Dublin.
Likes (Student Life): Student life at NCI is very active and friendly. They host several events. NCI organizes a variety of events like cultural festivals, career fairs, tech talks and student gatherings. There are several clubs as gaming clubs cultural groups, tech societies which you will be introduced to on your induction day.
Dislikes (Safety): The campus itself feels safe, but Dublin can be unpredictable sometimes, especially late in the evening. On campus, we had student support services that guide you on safety in the city. Some parts of the city are not suggested to travel alone. Stay away from those places and you will be granted.

Likes (Safety): NCI and Dublin are generally very safe. The campus has 24/7 security and CCTV, and the city has regular police patrols. My experience has been positive, with no major safety issues, just usual caution needed at night.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus job opportunities at the National College of Ireland are quite limited and competitive. Most students rely on off-campus jobs in retail, hospitality or customer service, which are easier to find in Dublin. The average pay for part-time jobs is around €12–€15 per hour, depending on the role and experience.

Strong support with a room of improvement.
Tips: Must be clear with the course. They have a strict policy of not changing the course once enrolled. During the admission I was awarded with the scholarship. The country is good. The weather is unpredictable, people are nice but stay away from the youth.
Likes (Internships): NCI offers a good connection to the industries, a good dedicated career team, and a structured programs for the placement. There are regular workshops, campus events and CV and LinkedIn support. However, it's not a perfect 5 because finding and securing an internship requires efforts from the student - many end up sending 10-20 applications.
Dislikes (Safety): Due to a recent increase in the incidents in Dublin. You will feel insecure in certain areas. I haven't experienced any such incident till date. But you have to be careful every time.

Part time job is really hard to find.
Tips: Do some research on your own, do not trust any consultancy blindly because they'll surely manipulate by showing old data, so know about the current statistics, and do a lot of networking, which is going to help you a lot after reaching Ireland. The international ratio is also not that good, as more and more indians are moving to Ireland, so if you're applying to this university for the international student ratio, then I'd suggest not to.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is so vibrant and awesome, filled with lots of opportunities to connect with many working professionals and also a lot of activities to keep us engaged. I learned a lot through these activities. Student life is also so much fun with a lot of international students and we get to know about different cultures.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time job is really hard to find. I thought of repaying my loan and taking care of my monthly expenses using my part time as my consultancies suggested, but in reality, it's totally different. So don't trust any consultancies, they are just manipulating you with old data, do some research on current statistics.

Tips: Students should know that NCI has a strong academic structure with industry-aligned courses, but self-discipline is crucial. Accommodation near the campus can be expensive, so plan early. Also, engage actively in class and network for better opportunities.
The transition was smooth academically, but there was definitely a cultural shift—people are more informal, independent, and value punctuality. Group work expectations and communication styles were different, but I adapted over time by being open and observant.
I availed of an academic merit scholarship offered by NCI. I received it based on my undergraduate grades and Statement of Purpose during admission. The allowance was a tuition fee reduction of €2,000, which helped significantly with expenses.
I am quite satisfied with my experience at NCI—the course is practical and relevant to industry needs, and the faculty is supportive. Ireland is safe, multicultural, and offers great post-study work opportunities, making it a worthwhile academic destination.
Dislikes (Safety): I rated 3 on Safety because while the campus itself is secure with access-controlled entries and CCTV surveillance, the surrounding areas of the city can sometimes feel unsafe during late hours, particularly in less crowded zones, which affects the overall sense of security.
Apart from campus security, NCI offers student support services including mental health assistance, emergency contact protocols, and safety briefings. The college also collaborates with local authorities to ensure a safe commute and provides safe travel advice.
A good experience I had was attending the vibrant cultural festivals around Dublin—people are welcoming and it’s easy to socialize. However, I once faced a minor theft incident in the city center, which made me more cautious about carrying valuables.

The job market is very competitive; very few sponsored jobs are available.
Tips: I got the scholarship based on my grades. The university is fair, I would say. There are many things to learn, but that needs to be done by ourselves. The college won't help much, but the exam papers are tough, and strict rules are followed. There are many Indian students in the college, so the environment is good, however the part-time job situation is not so good now.
Likes (Public transportation): NCI is in the city centre and is well connected by Luas, Train and Bus. Public transport is affordable. A ride costs only 1 euro for 90 minutes. So college travel costs 2 euros, but it's not always reliable because buses get cancelled frequently. I suggest the Luas or train options instead of the bus.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Market is very competitive now. There are many students coming every year, but there are only a few jobs available, and they require experience. Supply of data roles is less than demand. Very few sponsored jobs are available. Even with experience, students are struggling.

Tips: At first, things were a little different because I was shifting to a different culture. But in Ireland, people are very friendly and supportive. My overall experience at the university is amazing. Multiple groups within the students' union are always there to help in every way they can.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at my university is well qualified and available whenever you need them. The support is great, and the facilities are easily accessible on teams or on campus. The professors are kind enough to explain anything you don't understand. They will walk you through it again and again, even the simple things.
Dislikes (Internships): I couldn't get an internship for this course, but the NCI support team helped me by sending out my resume to different companies, which is hard to get done these days in Ireland.

The college is affordable and worth the money.
Tips: There will be a scholarship available from the college only while applying and paying fees, which will be automatically deducted. Be aware that there will be a cultural difference in terms of food, work, and life balance, and you will need to adjust. I am only barely satisfied with the college.
Likes (Safety): Safety is the most important thing here while studying and also while working. Here, people are more concerned about safety in every industry, and safety comes first in everything. Even in food, they mention allergy things in all health information. In the city, some homeless people are the biggest threat, and there are no rules for teenagers, who can also be a threat.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There will be no Indian food available, and if there is, it is way too expensive. Some Indian stores are practically robbing customers, and Indian restaurants are at the top of this list. They don't taste good at all, and one dinner at an Indian restaurant is about as expensive as all my groceries for a whole month.

Networking is most important; reach out to as many people as you can.
Tips: Keep an eye on job boards that the college will be sharing, and keep applying for them regardless of the outcome. There is no concept of placements. Be ready to work any kind of part-time job to earn your bread and butter. Never get in an argument with teenagers. Never lose hope, never forget the purpose of your being here.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is available at any time, day or night. You can choose from many different ways of getting around. Luas is available right in front of the college. Within 200 meters, there are both Connolly Station and Dockland Station, where you can catch a train. Busaras, the main bus station, is right across from Connolly, and the TFI Local bus stops are all within 500 meters. The fact that the school is located in the heart of the city really makes a difference.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are no on-campus part-time jobs available, even if they are, they're only available for the January intake, and only a few can succeed. Keep an eye out always on Indeed for part-time jobs. Networking is most important; reach out to as many people as you can. It's hard at the beginning, but you'll get used to it. It takes at least three months to land a part-time job, so be financially prepared to support yourself for at least three months.

Tips: Think before you act because you are going to experience new things. Everything will be different, and you have to be ready prior to coming here. I did get the scholarship; it was for my tuition fees, and I got it on my Bachelor's CGPA. Regarding the course and the university, I'm satisfied, and the country is good, except it feels a bit depressing, though.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty are very friendly, and they are open to all kinds of discussion related to growth in terms of knowledge. When it comes to teaching, they follow the pattern that practical knowledge is more important than learning the theory all the time. The faculty members are very well diversified.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): My initial thought was to settle in this country, given my relationship back at home. But after spending some time here in Ireland, I understood that if I were to live my life only for myself without any feeling, then only I could live here because I can't find that bond here. So I would suggest that if you come here, you should finish your master's, get a job, gain experience, and then leave the country.

NCI is a good college with lot of Indians.
Tips: I got a scholarship of 5,000 euros, based on my grades and my IELTS/Duolingo scores. They reduce the scholarship amount from the tuition fee. I'm not sure about other schools, but NCI is good at teaching and helping students in their careers. So we have to plan everything before we buy, whether it will be useful or not. If we buy something and it goes to waste, there's no point. Our money is just going to waste. Eating out is also a lot of expense.

Have at least a minimum of three years of experience before joining.
Tips: If you're doing a Master's, at least you should have 3 years of experience, and you should be financially sound. On top of that, you need coding and database knowledge. If you're not financially strong, you should be ready to take on part time work. Here, student life is good because you will get enough time to do your part-time work along with your studies, so you will be able to survive even though the country is expensive. In addition, the assessments that they provide you with will help you learn a lot, and you will be able to apply what you have learned at work.
Dislikes (Value for money): Education here is cheap compared to other countries, and the quality is good. You get enough time to complete your assessments and prepare for your exams. During your time here, you can also develop other skills in addition to studying.

Tips: Students should avail the scholarships, and they should research properly about the area they will live so that they can get used to the transportation and local retail stores. It is not like they will be offended if you ask questions; instead, they will be happy to help and communicate. At NCI, the faculty and the student union are very helpful, and you will always get solutions to your questions.
Likes (Part time work): I spend my time attending lectures, and in my free time I play table tennis in the games room. The college also organizes various alumni meets, which helps to gain a perspective on the job market as well. I regularly participate in these types of events.

Russell group legacy and London life.
Tips: Before joining Queen Mary University, one should know that the university is situated in the eastern part of London. It has not one but multiple campuses. My primary campus was London but I had several classes in Lincoln's Inn as well. Very beautiful, neat and tidy, which gives you a reflection of British history as well.
Likes (Part time work): Work here in London can be a challenging task but I got my part-time job through Queen University job portals, where part-time jobs near me were released and I applied for them directly from the portals and got three job offers and finally accepted an MS customer assistant, which paid me 14 per hour and I worked for 20 hours a week which covered my expenses.
Dislikes (Safety): London has a high crime rate that is increasing by the year. Thefts during broad daylight are very common in Central London. Even though it's written as a warning in central London to take care of your phones as they can be snatched at any time, the worst part is that you can't catch or have a fight with the snatcher.

Great country for studies, but safety is a concern.
Tips: Before coming to London, one should keep in mind that London is no longer the city that it used to be. There is a huge search in the number of crimes and thefts I have experienced. This is because you'll find use number of immigrants from Middle East countries in London, you'll find more refugee immigrants than the English people themselves in the street and it is one of the main reasons for the increased crime in the city.
Likes (Student Life): The university has beautiful infrastructure, one class faculty members, wealth, class campus, and the best standard alumni network, it's not much talked about, but QMUL has one of the best networks.
Dislikes (Safety): The universities pretty much safe and it has got all the security gates at every turn. It's for London city, which used to be a hub for everything related to business management and technology is no longer a safe place. There are certain areas in London city which are advised by the citizens to know how to travel alone at night or in the evening. There has been a significant increase in the number of crimes, that is, stabbing, snatching and all that, in recent days.

Tips: Before joining this college, students should know London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Monthly expenses can cost from 1000-2000 easily in these expenses. I have not included extra expenses like outings and partying.
Likes (Student Life): Because of the world-class faculty members and world-class infrastructure of the university and the exposure that I got here was unthinkable. Faculty members are top notch in the teaching is world class.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The economy hasn't performed well due to which the taxation here is now so high also for the immigrants, permanent settlement, that is, ILR five years is not considered and might increase it to 10 years.

Tips: Before coming to London, one must know that London is a big city, which is divided into several zones, each zone feels like a different city. The central London cover zone 123 mainly zones one and two, which are the most expensive zones as well. I did avail a scholarship of 3000 from Queen's University of London. That was based on my graduation marks.
Likes (Indian Food): London has a large number of Indian restaurants. Not only Indian London have food from all around the world, whether it's Brazilian, Nepali, Thai, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, Pakistani, Israeli, and whatnot. It has all the world's food.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I have two stars out of five for permanent immigration settlement here in the United Kingdom. This is because of the new laws introduced by the government of UK. There are no new laws that are non-viable to these students who have just come here. Students who will be applying for PSW after 1 January 2027 will be getting a Psw for only 18 months instead of 24.

Tips: Before joining Queen Mary University or coming to London, the rules were very strict. Unlike India's roles. Here rules are followed by each and every citizen, especially the traffic rules. Pedestrians are given preference by the car drivers every time and are treated with respect. You will find that most of the people here prefer to work and use public transport.
Likes (Public transportation): London is well connected via bus, underground, overground national railways. Every part of London is connected together. The bus offers a flat fare of 1.75 for one hour, in which you can tap in multiple times, and you won't be charged more than 1.75 in that one hour.

Tips: London city is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but one should keep in mind that London is one of the most expensive cities as well, from transport, rent and food. It can easily cost you a lot. So, financial planning is very important as a student. I always plan my finances before each month. I would advise every student to do the same. I did avail a scholarship of 2000 from QMUL.
Likes (Value for money): World-class infrastructure and top notch faculty members. The teaching system in QMUL is perfectly organised and meets the world class standards and it is a group university. It has all the amenities and facilities that one could ask for from world class buildings to super-class computer labs.
Dislikes (Safety): London city was known for its people, culture and sophistication, is now taken over by thieves and snatchers especially in Central London. It is completely unsafe to take out phones and it is advised and written on the roads as well. Do not take out your mobile phones as you are vulnerable to the snatchers.

Tips: Before coming to London, students must know that there is a difference of four hours and 30 minutes between India's time as compared to London's time, which increases to 5hr 30 minutes during the winter season. The winter season is extremely depressing at sunset during the afternoon, which is 3 PM. You'll see dark skies, gloomy skies at 4 PM in the winter.
Likes (Indian Food): I have written five star out of five for the food options available here in London. Many Indian restaurants. I would say numerous number of Indian restaurants are available here in London International chain like Saravana Bhawan, Ananda Bhawan and also first branch of Bikaner wala has also opened in London. There are multiple varieties of Indian food available that is accessible and available to students very easily.
Dislikes (Safety): Because of the recent incident that has taken place in London city multiple stabbing cases and multiple snatching cases have been reported which is concerning and alarming for an international student like me. London was known for its safety and British culture, which no longer seems to exist here in London, to be honest.

Tips: During the initial days it was difficult for me to adapt to this new country and new culture as I was not used to off living alone and cooking. That means doing all the tasks myself. This country has made me independent. I can cook now. I can wash my clothes, all things I have to do myself.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The quality of faculty, especially talking about the business school, is one of the best faculty members themselves, who hold some experience in some kind of entrepreneurship, and they themselves are the graduates of world class top universities like Howard University, Oxford University, and Michigan University.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Average two stars for the permanent immigration settlement option here in the United Kingdom. This is because of the laws introduced by the UK government. These new laws, one of which is that the PSW post study work visa tenure has been reduced from 24 months to 18 months for the upcoming January intake, that is, 2027.

Dislikes (Safety): I experienced a lot of cases of robbery, mobbing near me. I had a friend who was teased by a number of guys in the area near my accommodation. City was great a decade ago, but now when it comes to safety, London is no longer as safe a city as it used to be.

Tips: Queen Mary University is known for its reputation in business and Law School. Primarily, the transition from India to London was quite challenging as I came here without my family. I had to leave my family back at home, so it was quite challenging during the initial days, but slowly I adapted to the culture and the way of life. Made a new friend and started socialising. I was awarded a scholarship of 2000 that was based on my marks in graduation.
Likes (Post study jobs): Multiple job roles are listed on the Queen Mary University job portals, where students can access the jobs that have been posted there and apply directly to them on their portals. The recruiter's email is also given so that a student can establish a connection with the recruiter directly by emailing him or her.
Dislikes (Safety): Currently, considering the situation of London, crime has aggressively increased in the city of London. Stabbing is in newspaper headlines every day or every other day and phone snatching in central London is so common that an advisory and a warning have been issued by the mayor of London on how to prevent your phones from being snatched, even though it's written on the roads as well.

You would notice that people are toiling during the weekdays and they enjoy their weekends with full joy. Ethics are so good that employees are not pressured at all. Mental health is considered to be a big factor here. I am completely satisfied with this country and my university.
Likes (Indian Food): You'll find Indian grocery stores and food restaurants wherever you want and wherever you go especially in areas like Eastham Wembley Hounslow and Southall. In these areas, Indian restaurants are so prominent that they are also called mini India.
