Warwick University History
Warwick University was established in 1961 after the approval given from the government and it also received its Royal Charter status by the year 1965. During the initial years, the university had a few students who had enrolled in 1964 and around 450 undergraduate students joined in Oct 1965. The overall student population had become over 23,000 out of which more than 9,000 were postgraduate students.
Warwick University has 29 academic departments and more 50 research institutes in Arts, Sciences, Engineering and Medicine faculties. The Warwick Arts Centre was later established in 1974 by the Charitable Trust of 29th May, 1961 and it had been expanded during the 1980s three times. The university had introduced a range of Foundation based degrees in 2001.
