Life at National college of Ireland.
Tips: We can expect a practical, industry-focused environment and diverse students. I adapted quickly despite a small cultural shift. I received a merit scholarship with tuition support. I'm very much satisfied with course, college as well as the life in Ireland.
Likes (Indian Food): There are many Indian restaurants nearby the campus. All those are budget friendly with great food and good ambiance. I would mostly prefer to cook myself because it save money and as I'm a chef it will be easy for me to cook myself. I can get all the groceries in less than 100euros per month.

Good for Masters in IT Courses because you will complete masters in one year.
Tips: You won't feel major cultural shift once you came here because students will share accommodation with indians and in part-time jobs as well there will be one or two indians doing part-time job there. Scholarships will completely depends on the college if they like student profile they will offer scholarships, there are some government bodies in india those will also offer scholarships or less interest on the education loan, coming to my college experience it is good all lectures are welcoming and ready to help and my course is bit tough because we have pen and paper exams only for my course rest all courses have assignments and projects. If you have good skills and experience students can get good opportunities and weather is not that good here.
Likes (Indian Food): In Ireland, you've got maybe five or six main types of Indian spots that cover the usual veg and non-veg stuff. To be honest it’s a bit of a hit or miss situation as you might find one place with a great curry but their other dishes are just okay. No single spot really nails the whole menu. Thankfully there’s actually plenty of Indian grocery stores around here these days, so you can pretty much find all the right spices and stuff to just cook everything yourself at home anyway.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Job searching is hard here after a master's. If a candidate has 5-plus years of experience, then chances of getting a job are somewhat good; otherwise, it's tough to get a job. If a candidate doesn't have any prior experience, it's better not to choose Ireland. Most of the companies are not ready to sponsor. If a candidate got a good package, they can do self-sponsorship only if the company is willing to give a proof-of-work letter.

Gateway to come and stay in ireland
Tips: There will be little nervousness after coming here. Later it will be as usual, like in India, after a few months; for me, I felt nothing bad till now. There will be some default scholarships for every student based on the marks in earlier courses. It's not the best I can say, but overall it's okay to study here and stay in Ireland.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is the best in Dublin City. There are many transportation options to reach anywhere in Ireland from Dublin. There are trains, buses, Luas cycles, etc. Public transportation can be many ways, covering many areas in Dublin's city center to multiple parts.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are less in number and have a huge competition. It's very better to apply before start of going college as it's takes almost 8-10 months of application process, so when already graduated, they no longer consider for internships. Student must be in college while joining internships.

Great place to learn and network.
Tips: Students can know everything from the college website. If students are looking for budget education, then this college is the right place. If they have money, they can prefer universities otherwise, this college is a great place.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Now it is tough to get placed easily. If you have the right skills, you need to try and work hard for the job in semester 1. In 1G, you need to get placed in a good company and try to get the critical skills visa. Then you can apply for stamp 4.

Diverse environment and good learning experience.
Tips: Students should be prepared for independent learning and active participation. Dublin can be expensive, so plan finance well. The environment is diverse and welcoming and adapting to a new culture and academic style may take time. Overall a positive experience.
Dislikes (Internships): Because while there is support from the college, a lot of the responsibility falls on the students to find opportunities themselves. The career services team shares openings and conducts workshops on CV writing and interviews. Some internships are relevant to the course especially in business, computing and data related fields, but securing one depends heavily on individual effort and networking.

A Supportive, Diverse, and Career-Focused Learning Experience.
Tips: Look, if you’re actually thinking of coming over, just know it’s a really welcoming spot—especially if you're moving from abroad like I did. My first few weeks were honestly way smoother than I'd expected. There was definitely a bit of a culture shock at first, mostly just getting used to how much they expect you to do on your own and even just the way people talk, but it wasn't nearly as scary as I’d feared. The staff are so helpful and everyone is really chill, so I ended up settling in way faster than I thought I would. I checked out the scholarship stuff when I was applying and the uni is actually pretty open about how it all works. Obviously, not everyone gets one, but as long as you keep an eye on the dates, it’s easy enough to figure out. I'm just really glad I made the move. The course feels like it’ll actually be useful for a real job, and Ireland itself is great—it feels safe and the vibe is just super inclusive. If you're ready to just dive in, you’ll have a blast.

A welcoming campus and a welcoming city.
Tips: The workload in NCI can be sometimes demanding. Time management is very important especially if you want to work part-time with your studies. The transition was smooth overall to Dublin. You need to get adjusted to the weather and cost of living in Dublin.
Likes (Student Life): Student life at NCI is very active and friendly. They host several events. NCI organizes a variety of events like cultural festivals, career fairs, tech talks and student gatherings. There are several clubs as gaming clubs cultural groups, tech societies which you will be introduced to on your induction day.
Dislikes (Safety): The campus itself feels safe, but Dublin can be unpredictable sometimes, especially late in the evening. Likes (Safety): NCI and Dublin are generally very safe. The campus has 24/7 security and CCTV, and the city has regular police patrols. My experience has been positive, with no major safety issues, just usual caution needed at night.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus job opportunities at the National College of Ireland are quite limited and competitive. Tips: Must be clear with the course. They have a strict policy of not changing the course once enrolled. During the admission I was awarded with the scholarship. The country is good. The weather is unpredictable, people are nice but stay away from the youth.
Likes (Internships): NCI offers a good connection to the industries, a good dedicated career team, and a structured programs for the placement. There are regular workshops, campus events and CV and LinkedIn support. However, it's not a perfect 5 because finding and securing an internship requires efforts from the student - many end up sending 10-20 applications.

Part time job is really hard to find.
Tips: Do some research on your own, do not trust any consultancy blindly because they'll surely manipulate by showing old data, so know about the current statistics, and do a lot of networking, which is going to help you a lot after reaching Ireland. The international ratio is also not that good, as more and more indians are moving to Ireland, so if you're applying to this university for the international student ratio, then I'd suggest not to.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is so vibrant and awesome, filled with lots of opportunities to connect with many working professionals and also a lot of activities to keep us engaged. I learned a lot through these activities. Student life is also so much fun with a lot of international students and we get to know about different cultures.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time job is really hard to find. I thought of repaying my loan and taking care of my monthly expenses using my part time as my consultancies suggested, but in reality, it's totally different. So don't trust any consultancies, they are just manipulating you with old data, do some research on current statistics.

A practical and supportive learning experience in a global city.
Tips: Students should know that NCI has a strong academic structure with industry-aligned courses, but self-discipline is crucial. Accommodation near the campus can be expensive, so plan early. Also, engage actively in class and network for better opportunities. The transition was smooth academically, but there was definitely a cultural shift—people are more informal, independent, and value punctuality. Group work expectations and communication styles were different, but I adapted over time by being open and observant. I availed of an academic merit scholarship offered by NCI. I received it based on my undergraduate grades and Statement of Purpose during admission. The allowance was a tuition fee reduction of €2,000, which helped significantly with expenses. I am quite satisfied with my experience at NCI—the course is practical and relevant to industry needs, and the faculty is supportive. Ireland is safe, multicultural, and offers great post-study work opportunities, making it a worthwhile academic destination.
Dislikes (Safety): I rated 3 on Safety because while the campus itself is secure with access-controlled entries and CCTV surveillance, the surrounding areas of the city can sometimes feel unsafe during late hours, particularly in less crowded zones, which affects the overall sense of security. Apart from campus security, NCI offers student support services including mental health assistance, emergency contact protocols, and safety briefings. The college also collaborates with local authorities to ensure a safe commute and provides safe travel advice. A good experience I had was attending the vibrant cultural festivals around Dublin—people are welcoming and it’s easy to socialize. However, I once faced a minor theft incident in the city center, which made me more cautious about carrying valuables.

The job market is very competitive; very few sponsored jobs are available.
Tips: I got the scholarship based on my grades. The university is fair, I would say. There are many things to learn, but that needs to be done by ourselves. The college won't help much, but the exam papers are tough, and strict rules are followed. There are many Indian students in the college, so the environment is good, however the part-time job situation is not so good now.
Likes (Public transportation): NCI is in the city centre and is well connected by Luas, Train and Bus. Public transport is affordable. A ride costs only 1 euro for 90 minutes. So college travel costs 2 euros, but it's not always reliable because buses get cancelled frequently. I suggest the Luas or train options instead of the bus.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Market is very competitive now. There are many students coming every year, but there are only a few jobs available, and they require experience. Supply of data roles is less than demand. Very few sponsored jobs are available. Even with experience, students are struggling.

Seneca is perfect for your career growth. It's well known and holds a solid reputation.
Tips: If you are actually serious about your course, only then choose this college. They are strict about studies and assignments and if this is just something you want to do on the side, Seneca may not be for you. You will have to genuinely invest your time in each course and assignments.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Each and every professor is well established in the industry and is always available for advice etc. The professors hold good qualifications and are generally understanding and sympathetic towards international students. The teaching method is similar to all Western schools. Make sure you figure out how to write a research paper at least before moving.
Dislikes (Student Life): Seneca has a variety of student programmes but not limited to food banks, cultural associations and other sports etc. One would mostly spend their time working on assignments and research since you would be swamped with them. Likes (Student Life): The college life is quite fascinating over here. Because people from all over the world are present here and we get to know about each others cultures and languages. The people over here are quite friendly but be careful while choosing friends because some people may take advantage of your kindness and naivety.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Because of the lack of spices and people here have less spice tolerance the food here is not that good. Hence I have to cook at home mostly and I usually don't have much time left to take rest since most of the time left I have to look for groceries and plan what my next meal should be. That is the reason I feel there is a lack of food options from my country of origin.

Amazing college , perfect for Indian students
Tips: Well it’s very important for every student to be dedicated towards his hard work and success because this college has a lot of competition and students in this face a lot of study related problems. Also, you must complete assignments on time this college is very punctual.
Likes (Safety): Seneca is located in Toronto and it’s very safe place being an international student I faced many problems with part time job and my timings but I never felt alone or I never felt afraid because in this area there is always a hustle bustle so you are safe.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Being an international student it’s very difficult to deal with settlement for that it’s very important to get post study jobs but I chose diploma and it’s very difficult to get a job after diploma so I suggest if you are applying to college must apply for degree

Honours Bachelor of Technology - Software Development - Batch of 2024
Offered by Seneca Polytechnic
4.1
Life at Seneca is perfect considering the academics as well as non academics.
Tips: If you are joining from India, make sure that you know a little of your subjects and it would be great if you have some contacts in Seneca before joining it. Seniors are helpful and you may take their help in career guidance or ask them about anything other than the college itslef.
Likes (Post study jobs): If one knows a little about the Software Development area, then one knows that this sector provides lot of jobs for the passionate developers. Since the quality study material and hands-on learning experience are there at Seneca, the post study job rate is quite good.
Dislikes (Value for money): The faculty at Seneca at my campus is not that much great compared to what I expected. Moreover there are too many activities to conduct that makes it difficult for the students with their part time jobs as sometimes they cannot do both the tasks simultaneously. The cafe food is not up to the mark.
