Most companies look for experienced people rather than students.
Tips: It's life-changing. I often neglected my health because of back-to-back classes and a job. It was very could and I got a lot of skin and health issues. You need to be an extraordinary person to avail a scholarship and allowance. The University and the lifestyle were worth it but I wish I did my Bachelor's there instead of a 1 year Masters because most graduate programmes and internships are catered towards Bachelor studies. They also get to other opportunities like exchange programs, etc.
Likes (Indian Food): The city itself was known for it's multicutural aspect and the wide options for Asian cusine. There is a Chinatown right next to the School of Computing campus and there's an South east Asian market 15 minutes away from the campus. The city itself is pretty small and you could find Turkish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, North Indian, South Indian and many more. I usually cook for myself or go to the canteen in our INTO campus.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Most companies look for experienced people from India rather than Indian students studying there. It was hard for me to look for a full time job and I returned to India immediately after my studies. I think engineers have better job options and desk jobs are something treated like anyone can do after training. It's better to niche down an area of interest.

Great faculty and peers.
Tips: Focus on the core of your undergrad rather than choosing easy subs like management, because out of 100 students 80 are management so that creates a problem when it comes to career while they do have a lot of options when it comes to Engineering, medical, IT and data science.
Likes (Internships): I was able to secure an internship even before completing my studies, so many of my friends struggled because they did not apply for jobs/internships early. If you are a September intake, then students should start to apply at least from the end of November, which will help them.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There have been a lot of changes by the UK government for immigrants and the criteria are changing every year. I would settle for sure because the work culture and people here are really sweet and balanced.

Academically strong with real-world challenges.
Tips: Students should know that the academic workload is intensive and requires strong time management and self-discipline. Support services are available but you need to be proactive in using them. There was a noticeable cultural shift in terms of independent learning, classroom discussions and academic expectations. I received the Newcastle-India Leadership and Innovation Scholarship which covered 100 percent of my tuition fees. It significantly reduced my financial burden and helped me focus on academics. I am satisfied with my university, my course and the country. The education quality, exposure to diverse perspectives and professional opportunities make the experience valuable despite a few challenges.
Likes (Safety): The city feels generally secure and student friendly. Apart from campus security and 24/7 CCTV, there are well-lit walkways, emergency helplines, night shuttle services and active student support teams. There are always police officers on the campus and also the civic sense of local people are top notch. Once I lost my ID card but within 15 minutes I got my ID card back due to high CCTV Surveillance.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus opportunities are quite limited and highly competitive, especially during term time. Most roles (library, acres, student services) get filled quickly. Off campus jobs in retail, hospitality and warehouse exist but competition is high and schedules are often flexible. Managing part time work alongside academics is hard during peak course work period.

Tips: Choose university accommodation rather than private. If going for private choose the one that is near the college, or else you will spend your time walking all day. All-rounder, good crowd, fun and exciting.
Tips: It's the best place to be in. If you're a party person it's the best city you can beat. We have got several societies if you're into curricular, you name it, we've got it. I love how we have multiple diversities studying on one campus. Love meeting people from new places and I don't see a room for discrimination.
Likes (Student Life): Newcastle is the best city to have a good student life. It has two main universities Newcastle and Northumbria. It makes a lot of students from around the world to come and settle in. The good part about the city is that it is fun when you want it to be fun. Good experiences.
Dislikes (Part time work): I haven't gotten any yet and I don't see the university helping me with part time roles. University doesn't play a major role in helping you find a part time; honestly, you'll have to figure that out on your own. I did a lot of walk-ins to end up getting some response.

Fun, engaging and vibrant social life.
Tips: One of the best universities and it will teach you more about life. Honesty, things here are not that easy but hard work and not giving up will definitely lead you towards sponsored jobs, part time roles and so on. Academically, sports, other societies, everything is good.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is really good here. They won't stress you up. You get enough time to put together your learnings and apply them meaningfully. Also, the city is nice and the university is within a 20 minute walk from the city areas so less travelling. You'll also enjoy the nightlife.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Because it doesn't fully depend on the university and job market but also on the individual. I see students hustling more than others and they secure jobs because of the hard work they do. There are plenty of opportunities here and you will explore more job fields than your field of study.

Great faculty and interactive classes.
Tips: Be punctual and proactive. You should always stay active in the classes and listen to the teaching from the professor, as that will help you in your dissertation. I am very much satisfied with the faculty and the NUBS Team because they are very supportive.
Likes (Value for money): Ambience and education level are excellent, as well as teaching staff is very supportive. Every professor is very much interested in our doubts and queries. If you have any doubt related to studies, then you can directly email the professor and they will shortly answer you don't.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Dakwala restaurant is 20 per person. And this is too expensive for a one time meal for an international student coming from India. There are no such monthly tiffin options here for Indian food but when you come here then you'll automatically learn how to cook.

A supportive and career focused university experience in a student-friendly city.
Tips: The transition was smooth but there were some cultural adjustments. Teaching style is more self-directed and independent study is expected. People are friendly but social interaction and communication style differ from India. Weather can be a surprise with shorter winter days and colder climate.
Likes (Public transportation): Newcastle has one of the most convenient, reliable and affordable transport systems for students. Newcastle University is extremely central. The campus is within walking distance of the city centre. Well connected by metro, buses, trains and even e-scooters.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market in the UK especially for data-related roles, is promising, but securing a sponsored role still requires effort, networking, and strong skills. A good number of mid-size to large companies in the UK Sponsor Skilled worker visas. In the data space, these commonly include: Major consulting firms, Tech Companies, Financial institutions.

A good all rounder university for students.
Tips: I availed a scholarship of 7000 pounds and it is easy to get for Indian students and the transition was smooth. While starting university, we had a big welcome week to get us accustomed to here. I feel you can quickly get accustomed here. I'm satisfied with my university course and the city is also quite small and easily accessible.
Likes (Value for money): It is justified that you get study, lecture, seminar and computer cluster while also helping in getting jobs, CV and helping in mental health well being. Altogether you get worth of what you pay for. First thing they give you is free things like freebies, fair. You go to different activities and volunteer here.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Immigration and post work visa options are not very good in the UK, while a riot is also going on in this country. I wouldn't stay after my course. Affordable city, quality education and respectful people.
Tips: The transition was smooth though there's a clear cultural shift. Classes are interactive and self-study is key. I didn't take any scholarships but there are several if you apply early. I'm very satisfied with the university, course and city. Newcastle is affordable, supportive and great for both academic and personal growth.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation in Newcastle is extremely convenient and reliable. Most essential places are within walking distance from the campus which already makes daily travel easy. On top of that, the city has frequent buses that run on time, and students get discounted fares when using the Pop card. The city is well connected, affordable and very student friendly.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time jobs in Newcastle are available but not easy to secure especially when you first arrive. On-campus roles are limited and usually competitive so most students rely on off-campus opportunities in retail, hospitality or restaurants. By the time Christmas season arrives, hiring increases and most students manage to find something. Balancing part-time work with academics is manageable as long as you sick to 15 to 20 hours a week. The coursework requires consistent self-study so time management becomes important. The average payout for part-time work range from minimum wage to slightly higher depending on the role.

MSc in Renewable Energy, Enterprise and Management (REEM) - Batch of 2026

A supportive university with strong academics and global exposure.
Tips: Before joining this college students should know that the academic environment is quite independent and research-oriented, so good time management, self-study, and proactive communication with lecturers are essential. The assessment style focuses more on assignments, projects, and critical thinking rather than wrote learning. My transition was smooth though there was an initial cultural shift in terms of teaching style, punctuality, and communication. People are generally polite and professional, and adapting to independent living and academic expectations took some time but became comfortable gradually. I did not avail of a scholarship, but the university provides guidance on external funding options, early-payment discounts, and part-time work opportunities to support students financially. I am satisfied with the university, the course structure, and the country, as they offer good academic quality, international exposure, and a safe, welcoming environment for international students.
Dislikes (Student Life): It's better nice to be here and participate in everything. I am at social club in university. Meeting new friends and sharing knowledge is best. The campus offers a good balance between academics and social activities, though participation depends largely on individual involvement. I enjoy being part of the social club as meeting new people and sharing knowledge makes college life more engaging and enjoyable. The university regularly organizes cultural festivals, workshops, career events, sports activities and society meet-ups. I try to participate whenever possible, especially in social and networking events. There are various student clubs and communities such as social clubs, cultural societies, sports teams, academic groups and volunteering communities, which create a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Beautiful campus situated in a quaint town with cool vibes.
Tips: This particular university has a lot of Telugu folks, which can be a language barrier for people from other states. The professors and advisors are very approachable and helpful. This school provides scholarships of around 12,000 per semester for MS Thesis programs. The VLSI track has a good set of professors and the courses are well designed.
Likes (Public transportation): The shuttle service by the university is very convenient for travelling to college. There is a bus and metro service which runs through downtown Cincinnati, at very low fares for UC students. You can travel by the metro bus for free if you sign up with your college email.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There is an Ohio diversity internship programme which allows students to gain experience through CPT, which might later convert into full time jobs. Career fairs are held but not many companies come for core VLSI ( ECE) job roles. Reaching out to seniors for referrals and through networking on LinkedIn has worked for many in this field. Good for developing your career.
Tips: Academic life here is intense and can honestly feel endless depending on your programme but the professors are very established and help in restructuring your focus and ability. Courses are theory heavy so office hours and group study clubs helped me stay afloat. As for on campus jobs, you can expect to get paid around 12-18 per hour if you get one. Overall, it is a safe and friendly campus.

Diverse environment. Grateful for the experience.
Tips: You'll be required to be as self disciplined as possible and classes are project heavy but the TAs I have had so far have been quite helpful. When it comes to jobs on campus, you're more likely to get one as an undergraduate as compared to a post graduation. Immigration laws have made job security even more trickier than it has ever been so you should be well aware and prepared before making any major decisions.

Good academic environment.
Tips: Cincinnati has a quiet and peaceful vibe as compared to. Other universities and people are warm and welcoming. The quality of education is pretty good although the cost of tuition is on the higher side. Balancing presentations and group projects with coursework can be quite tiring but you will learn a lot in the process.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time work has been one of the trickiest aspects for me here so far. There are limited spots hiring on campus and they are occupied super quickly. Payout is fairly decent but the time constraints and availability can cause hindrance for finding part time work.

Friendly faculty and diverse campus.
Tips: Students should understand the university academic reputation curriculum structure and total cost including tuition and living expenses. It's also important to explore campus facilities and student life to see if it's a good fit. Try to research the average job rates and internship opportunities available. The strength of the alumni network can also help in making an informed decision.

I feel that this college is such a nice place to explore things and travel to reach our aspirations.
Tips: I've become more determined in my work since coming here. I've experienced a bit of a cultural shift, but I was looking forward to that. Unfortunately, I did not receive any scholarships. My day at UC starts with an on-campus part-time job and ends with classes. The class schedule is flexible, so students can arrange their timetable around their part-time hours. There are many types of events on campus, including regional events, blood drives, and awareness programs. There is also a wide range of student clubs and organizations that are very helpful in the growth of students. I'm really happy with the college, the course, and the country.
Dislikes (Safety): The faculty in my department are highly accessible and approachable. The teaching methodologies are unique in that the LMS has all the course modules, which allows us to preview the concepts before class. The teaching faculty is diverse in terms of nationality. I have professors from India, Japan, China, the USA, and Africa.

University of Cincinnati is great. I had wonderful experiences.
Tips: The University of Cincinnati is a great school. The people are good, the faculty is good, and the system is good. Scholarships are very possible, but you have to be smart when asking for them. I would highly suggest diversifying your friend group to really get the culture and the way of life of the American people. I had a great experience at the University of Cincinnati.

BS in Business Analytics - Batch of 2026
Offered by University of Cincinnati
3.8
Amazing University but could use some help in being diverse and inclusive.
Tips: The experience was full of ups and downs. I applied to the university during the application process and was accepted. I was very satisfied with the University of Cincinnati. There are a lot of opportunities, especially for the parents and family ambassador job. The hours are very flexible. The Digital Philanthropy Associate job has fixed hours and must be followed accordingly. If you manage your time well, both jobs are pretty manageable. The starting pay rate for both jobs is 10 Dollars per hour.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are multiple companies, but not enough jobs that align with a Business Analytics major. Data analyst, tax accountant, data entry, financial modelling, risk management, insurance management, and wealth management are all positions that start at 75,000 Dollars.

University offers quality education and enriching experience.
Tips: University offers diverse programs and a vibrant campus life, with ample resources and support services for students. The inclusive environment helps ease any cultural shift. Scholarships are available based on merit. The application process is pretty straightforward.
Likes (Indian Food): There are numerous Indian restaurants in Cincinnati, and quite a few around the university campus. There's plenty of options catering to both south and north Indians. If you enjoy cooking, you can find all the ingredients at the nearest Indian grocery store.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The current market situation is not very favorable and lot of companies are looking for candidates that do not require any visa sponsorship. Quite a few of my peers from the programme are working as data/ business analyst, develops and project managers.

MS in Business Administration Information Systems - Batch of 2024

Student life is great here. Affordable transportation.
Tips: You won't see any cultural shift cause you try to live mostly with your community people. I received a scholarship of 4,000 $ along with admission. Our course strength is 70 so the effectiveness of teaching is more. My advice is to aim for college and courses that have less strength. In mass numbers like 600-700, it's absolutely waste of time cause maximum cases learning curve will be very low and there will be a lot of scrap around you.
Likes (Student Life): Cincinnati is affordable, and there are lot of openings for data roles in the city. Campus shuttles save you money and energy, college transportation facilities are really good. Coming to cultural activities there Indian associations led my undergrad students so they will cover the most celebrated festivities.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are lot of incoming students so it's becoming difficult to find on-campus part-time, off-campus you need to be prepared to travel for long distances. Time management depends on the course, our course had 10 subjects per semester and you can imagine how many assignments we will be dealing with on a daily basis. Average pay for part-time is 10$.

Expense-wise it is quite reasonable and with a good Co-op program.
Tips: There are scholarship chances. Apply as early as possible. In case, you don't get a scholarship apply for TA and RA positions. MS Information Systems is a fast-paced programme. You will not get to learn courses in-depth but you will get exposure to different IT domains.
Likes (Internships): The University of Cincinnati has a good Co-op programme. MS Information Systems programme has a separate career counsellor and the programme Director conducts seminars every Friday. In these seminars, he brings representatives of the companies and students get to interact with them. Also, there are Career Fair. The programme requires you to complete 24 weeks of internship to graduate so along with academics, students start looking for internships from a very early stage.

Value for Money University.
Tips: UC may not be an ambitious university but value for money. I received a scholarship that covered 75% of my tuition fees. Many MS students get this type of scholarship. Also if you prove your worth to the professors you may get good-funded positions. Overall, satisfied with the course and university.

Safety is an issue. But value for money overall.
Tips: Get ready to work. Things will not be easy. There is a good possibility for you to not get a part-time. Life is not going to be easy and it will be a big shift financially. Don't forget that you came here to study, which a lot of students forget down the track. This is generally with any university.
Likes (Value for money): The cost of living is rather cheap and you get scholarships based on merit as well. Your amount of expenditure vs income opportunities and risk of a job is better weighed when compared with other universities in the same level/cadre. Scholarship opportunities are big as well.
Dislikes (Safety): The safety in Cincinnati is less. I personally experienced a lot of shooting news and situations. Recently a fellow Indian student was shot too. So always be safe. The campus is close to downtown and has a lot of drug addicts on the road which can be an issue.

Amazing campus life but tough to find part-time jobs.
Tips: The University of Cincinnati has an amazing campus, life is never mundane here. There is always something to do in this city. The main campus has scenic views. All the campuses offer several classes. There are certain requirements and expectations from each and every student. I highly enjoyed my classes here, as they were challenging yet interesting. The majority of the professors are UC graduates. They start from the basics no matter how much previous experience you have. The university is affordable and offers several scholarships. Students should apply for scholarships around the fall of their senior year, as it increases their chances of getting aid. The transportation service is not a problem here as the university has a shuttle running all over the campus on weekdays. At last, I would say that it's a pretty decent university. After graduation, there are many opportunities knocking on your door.
Likes (Indian Food): Cincinnati has many top Indian food restaurants that serve good and tasty food. However, the level of spices used is a bit less when compared to my home country, but still, it is better than any other place. The restaurants offer various Indian dishes and a great ambience. Many students try to cook food on their own even if they don't know how to cook food properly. Well, that's what I have come across while being a student. It's always better to prepare food the way you want. Also, if I put the taste preference aside, the food served in restaurants is not very healthy and is costly at the same time.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is a bit tough to find a part-time job in Ohio, but sooner or later you will land with an opportunity. Most of the students receive around $ 8 as their minimum wage after tax deductions. We can work here for up to 20 hours a week if you are an international student. Both on-campus and off-campus part-time job opportunities are available, but it is a bit difficult to get an on-campus part-time job, as many students, including the local students, digging out for the same opportunity.

Good balance between life and academics
Tips: There are a lot of opportunities to explore various clubs/activities that happen around the year. A great place to express your passion/interest and pursue hobbies other than academics. Scholarships are available by default for most of the Master's programmes. Tuition fees are friendly on the pocket. A nice city to live in beyond academic tenure.
Likes (Indian Food): Lot of Indian restaurants and other cuisine options around the university area. One will never miss Indian food if one lives nearby to the university. Pricing is reasonable as well. Food delivery options are available as well. Most of the Indian restaurants offer a buffet for lunch.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Students can apply for free metro bus pass to take rides anywhere in the city. However, connectivity to all locations might not be there, and if it does, the frequency is less. Largely, one has to rely on Uber/Lyft if you do not wish to take public transportation or own a vehicle.
