MSc International Business Management - Batch of 2024

It is a nice University to do masters from. Faculties are so good.
Tips: After coming to the UK, I learned lots of things. It's good to study abroad; moreover, I got a £4000 vice chancellor scholarship. It was an academic excellence scholarship. So, I paid £4000 less in tuition fees. I'm not satisfied with the course and university because here in the UK, it doesn't matter from which university. You did your master's. I still haven't got my field job because of lack of experience even though I did my master's at Russell Group University. Employer doesn't care about the university. The only thing they ask for is experience. In short, I would suggest to each and every one of you, please don't spend much on university because if you are not able to secure a high-paying job, then it will be so hard to pay your debts.
Likes (Internships): Universities provide great support to students in finding the internship, but students need to be active. There are a lot of internships available. Universities provide career guidance. Moreover, it helps students to draft a perfect CV. The university has their own job portal named MyCareer.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There are loads of companies that offer visa sponsorship to get those jobs. A student requires experience. It is not possible to get a sponsor role just after graduating. The UK is a skill-based market, not a degree-based market. Graduate roles usually start from £25000 to £30000.

Newcastle University: Learning, having fun and surviving the UK weather
Tips: The student mix at Newcastle is awesome and super diverse, but moving here was still a massive shock to the system at first. I had to get used to the local lingo, figure out the food situation, and deal with that freezing Northeast weather all at once. It took some serious adjusting. Honestly though, looking back I’m so glad I made the move. The course gave me a ton of real-world international exposure and my entire experience in the UK has been completely worth it.
Likes (Value for money): I gave value for money a solid 5 because honestly, Newcastle gives you a massive bang for your buck. You aren't just sitting in lecture halls memorizing theories; the course actually balances the heavy academic stuff with real, hands-on projects you can use on a CV. The campus facilities are top-tier too—whether you're grinding in the libraries or using the specific lab spaces—and the professors actually give a damn and support you when things get intense. Plus, when you factor in how much cheaper it is to live in Newcastle compared to cities down south, the quality of education you're getting for the tuition fees is a massive win. Looking back, the whole experience was completely worth the investment.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I rated 3 case settings in the UK, as an international student can be difficult in the long run. Although there are post-study work opportunities, it heavily depends on sponsorship and meeting visa requirements, which can change over time. So it still feels a bit uncertain sometimes.

Rollercoaster in Newcastle
Tips: That course is very basic if the syllabus can be covered online. There's always a cheaper alternative. Being close to the university helps but is expensive on the pocket. It's always better if you come prepared and try to find as many internships, jobs, and whatever that helps your needs.
Likes (Indian Food): In Newcastle, food is available in abundance all around the city. Newcastle has all sorts of street vendors around the city. Along with some posh restaurants down the quay side. The affordability of food is not very high, and a person can dine out easily for around 20-30 pounds.
Dislikes (Internships): For starters internships are really hard to find, and you hardly get any real support from the university, and all the internships that come in are not ideal for the profile you are studying. You have to often travel a lot of distance for events, which ends up not giving any actual results.

Most companies look for experienced people rather than students.
Tips: It's life-changing. I often neglected my health because of back-to-back classes and a job. It was very could and I got a lot of skin and health issues. You need to be an extraordinary person to avail a scholarship and allowance. The University and the lifestyle were worth it but I wish I did my Bachelor's there instead of a 1 year Masters because most graduate programmes and internships are catered towards Bachelor studies. They also get to other opportunities like exchange programs, etc.
Likes (Indian Food): The city itself was known for it's multicutural aspect and the wide options for Asian cusine. There is a Chinatown right next to the School of Computing campus and there's an South east Asian market 15 minutes away from the campus. The city itself is pretty small and you could find Turkish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, North Indian, South Indian and many more. I usually cook for myself or go to the canteen in our INTO campus.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Most companies look for experienced people from India rather than Indian students studying there. It was hard for me to look for a full time job and I returned to India immediately after my studies. I think engineers have better job options and desk jobs are something treated like anyone can do after training. It's better to niche down an area of interest.

Great faculty and peers.
Tips: Focus on the core of your undergrad rather than choosing easy subs like management, because out of 100 students 80 are management so that creates a problem when it comes to career while they do have a lot of options when it comes to Engineering, medical, IT and data science.
Likes (Internships): I was able to secure an internship even before completing my studies, so many of my friends struggled because they did not apply for jobs/internships early. If you are a September intake, then students should start to apply at least from the end of November, which will help them.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There have been a lot of changes by the UK government for immigrants and the criteria are changing every year. I would settle for sure because the work culture and people here are really sweet and balanced.

Academically strong with real-world challenges.
Tips: Students should know that the academic workload is intensive and requires strong time management and self-discipline. Support services are available but you need to be proactive in using them. There was a noticeable cultural shift in terms of independent learning, classroom discussions and academic expectations. I received the Newcastle-India Leadership and Innovation Scholarship which covered 100 percent of my tuition fees. It significantly reduced my financial burden and helped me focus on academics. I am satisfied with my university, my course and the country. The education quality, exposure to diverse perspectives and professional opportunities make the experience valuable despite a few challenges.
Likes (Safety): The city feels generally secure and student friendly. Apart from campus security and 24/7 CCTV, there are well-lit walkways, emergency helplines, night shuttle services and active student support teams. There are always police officers on the campus and also the civic sense of local people are top notch. Once I lost my ID card but within 15 minutes I got my ID card back due to high CCTV Surveillance.
Dislikes (Part time work): On campus opportunities are quite limited and highly competitive, especially during term time. Most roles (library, acres, student services) get filled quickly. Off campus jobs in retail, hospitality and warehouse exist but competition is high and schedules are often flexible. Managing part time work alongside academics is hard during peak course work period.

All-rounder, good crowd, fun and exciting.
Tips: It's the best place to be in. If you're a party person it's the best city you can beat. We have got several societies if you're into curricular, you name it, we've got it. I love how we have multiple diversities studying on one campus. Love meeting people from new places and I don't see a room for discrimination.
Likes (Student Life): Newcastle is the best city to have a good student life. It has two main universities Newcastle and Northumbria. It makes a lot of students from around the world to come and settle in. The good part about the city is that it is fun when you want it to be fun. Good experiences.
Dislikes (Part time work): I haven't gotten any yet and I don't see the university helping me with part time roles. University doesn't play a major role in helping you find a part time; honestly, you'll have to figure that out on your own. I did a lot of walk-ins to end up getting some response.

Fun, engaging and vibrant social life.
Tips: One of the best universities and it will teach you more about life. Honesty, things here are not that easy but hard work and not giving up will definitely lead you towards sponsored jobs, part time roles and so on. Academically, sports, other societies, everything is good.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is really good here. They won't stress you up. You get enough time to put together your learnings and apply them meaningfully. Also, the city is nice and the university is within a 20 minute walk from the city areas so less travelling. You'll also enjoy the nightlife.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Because it doesn't fully depend on the university and job market but also on the individual. I see students hustling more than others and they secure jobs because of the hard work they do. There are plenty of opportunities here and you will explore more job fields than your field of study.

Great faculty and interactive classes.
Tips: Be punctual and proactive. You should always stay active in the classes and listen to the teaching from the professor, as that will help you in your dissertation. I am very much satisfied with the faculty and the NUBS Team because they are very supportive.
Likes (Value for money): Ambience and education level are excellent, as well as teaching staff is very supportive. Every professor is very much interested in our doubts and queries. If you have any doubt related to studies, then you can directly email the professor and they will shortly answer you don't.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Dakwala restaurant is 20 per person. And this is too expensive for a one time meal for an international student coming from India. There are no such monthly tiffin options here for Indian food but when you come here then you'll automatically learn how to cook.

A supportive and career focused university experience in a student-friendly city.
Tips: The transition was smooth but there were some cultural adjustments. Teaching style is more self-directed and independent study is expected. People are friendly but social interaction and communication style differ from India. Weather can be a surprise with shorter winter days and colder climate.
Likes (Public transportation): Newcastle has one of the most convenient, reliable and affordable transport systems for students. Newcastle University is extremely central. The campus is within walking distance of the city centre. Well connected by metro, buses, trains and even e-scooters.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market in the UK especially for data-related roles, is promising, but securing a sponsored role still requires effort, networking, and strong skills. A good number of mid-size to large companies in the UK Sponsor Skilled worker visas. In the data space, these commonly include: Major consulting firms, Tech Companies, Financial institutions.

Tips: I availed a scholarship of 7000 pounds and it is easy to get for Indian students and the transition was smooth. While starting university, we had a big welcome week to get us accustomed to here. I feel you can quickly get accustomed here. I'm satisfied with my university course and the city is also quite small and easily accessible.
Likes (Value for money): It is justified that you get study, lecture, seminar and computer cluster while also helping in getting jobs, CV and helping in mental health well being. Altogether you get worth of what you pay for. First thing they give you is free things like freebies, fair. You go to different activities and volunteer here.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Immigration and post work visa options are not very good in the UK, while a riot is also going on in this country. I wouldn't stay after my course. My experience in Ucc ,may be different for other students
Tips: The way of teaching in India and abroad is very different; don't expect teachers to give you notes and cover the whole syllabus; we definitely have to study a few topics on our own. So we need to change the way we study and be willing to start your new journey, as you will know what true auditing means.
Likes (Part time work): Landing a part-time gig in cities like Cork or Dublin is honestly pretty easy and the money is enough to cover your monthly expenses. But seriously just do your 20 hours and do not lose sight of the actual goal which is landing a full-time job. A lot of Indian students out here end up overworking themselves in part-time roles and completely lose focus on landing actual full-time careers.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Since we had a lot of assignments, we had to learn a few of the topics ourselves, and we would be given a lot of syllabus to be covered by ourselves. Also, my course was just one year, so the syllabus was huge, but I liked the project we did, as it addressed real-time issues.

A practical learning experience with strong support but competitive opportunities.
Tips: Before joining, students should know that the course is quite intensive and requires consistent effort. Being proactive is very important, especially in networking, attending events and applying early for jobs or internships. For non-EU students, the job market can be competitive, so planning really helps. At the same time, UCC offers good support through the Careers team, student services and various clubs that help you feel settled and supported. My transition was a bit challenging at first, mainly adapting to a new academic style that is more independent and discussion-based. There was also a cultural shift in communication, but over time, it became easier by engaging with different people and getting involved in activities. While applying, you may receive a scholarship based on your previous academic performance, which is usually deducted from the tuition fees. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience. The course is practical and industry focused, and Ireland provides good exposure. However, securing internships or jobs, especially as a non EU student, requires extra effort and persistence.
Likes (Safety): I have generally felt safe both on campus and in the city. Apart from campus security, there are various supports and clubs within the university that make you feel safe and supported in any situation. The university also provides student services and guidance if any issues arise, and the overall environment is friendly and respectful. I haven’t had any negative experiences in the city and day-to-day life has felt comfortable and secure.
Dislikes (Internships): It’s extremely hard for non EU students to get an internship after this course. However, the UCC Careers team provides strong support through workshops, CV reviews and career fairs. The guidance available is helpful but securing an internship still requires a lot of independent effort and early applications. There are relevant opportunities in the field competition is high and many roles have visa or experience-related constraints.

One of the best universities with excellent staff in the country.
Tips: Be open to change. Learning here is fun and completely different from the Indian style. All the staff are the best and will go out of their way to help you with academics. I am very satisfied with my university and I did get the basic scholarship that I was eligible for. Culturally people here are very polite and thankful.

Don't come to Ireland if you're looking for jobs or permanent residency.
Tips: Be open about studies, food, weather and culture. Mixed culture environment. It is different from India. I got a 2,000 scholarship. It depends on grades. At university, you have loads of stuff to do, different societies, and events. The course especially related to placements are very bad. They don't help unless they know you exist. Not worth 15-30 lakhs INR. For cultural experience country is very nice and the people are nice. There's racism in some parts of the country. The weather is very bad.
Likes (Safety): Very safe for women, at least in Cork. You can go out late at night. Wear whatever you want no one's going to judge or harm you in any way. For other cities there's racism sometimes. And some parts of the city are not safe. There's stabbing and loads of things are going on in the name of racism. But Cork is safe.
Dislikes (Internships): There will be no university placements when you apply for the course. 3/10 help from faculties with the jobs. If they know you exist they might refer you somewhere. Specific attention is given to food science and it's easy for them to get a job compared to other courses. Don't apply for finance or data science or data analytics courses, there won't be any international exposure, you'll just find Indians.

Very few companies offer sponsorship.
Tips: Rent is high, you might end up paying more, so you need to have your savings. Getting part time is not easy; it might be more difficult than internships, unless you network properly. Studies are not at all easy; there were many who failed in our batch because they could not handle both part-time work and studies. You need to invest some time in studying.
Likes (Internships): I had to search for internships on my own; the college didn't help me exclusively, other than arranging career fairs that inform you about companies, but don't help you as such. I had to apply almost every day for internships, and I landed one because I had prior work experience. It would have been way harder if I were a fresher.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Very few companies offer sponsorship. All kinds of software jobs are available. Packages offered depend on experience, company, and also the job role. A junior can get anywhere between 30000 euros and 60000 euros, but visa sponsorship is less. The competition is high for each role as there are many talented professionals.

A research driven and enriching academic journey at UCC.
Tips: Students planning to join (UCC) should know that it is a research-intensive university with a strong academic focus especially in life sciences, biotechnology and biomedical research. The Biochemistry and Biosciences programs are rigorous and research-oriented so students should be prepared for independent learning, critical thinking and laboratory work. I did not receive a scholarship but UCC offers several merit-based and international student scholarships. These typically require strong academic records and are awarded automatically or through a separate application process. Some scholarships offer partial tuition fee waivers ranging from 2,000–5,000. I am highly satisfied with my experience at UCC. The university offers strong academic support, modern laboratory facilities and exposure to advanced research methodologies. The Biochemistry and Biosciences program is well-structured and aligns well with current industry and research demands. Ireland as a country is safe, student-friendly and research-driven, particularly in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical sciences. Cork, being a student city, has a welcoming atmosphere and good quality of life.

We have really nice campus.
Tips: You should be really good at English. Please check if you can get any scholarship. Your tuition fees will be reduced. I am very satisfied with my university. Our course is great. As we all know, Cork does not have great weather. You should consider that.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The teachers are really good at their job. Some might show racism. It happens rarely. They are really supportive. Helps you with your doubts. Communicate very openly and friendly. About diversity in terms of nationality is okay. Not that diverse.
Dislikes (Student Life): Our classes are at 9 am and then sometimes around 5-6 pm. Around 12- 2, we have a lunch break. We don't have college every day. It's like 3-4 times every week. We have many clubs. You should join them and learn some new things you are interested in.

Planned risks for your dreams.
Tips: Take a minute to really understand what you want for your future. Does the course you are having on your kind bring you any closer to the career that you have in your mind. Is it giving you a boost for the career path you are on. Don't solely take a course because the masses refer to it. Even a course that is not that popular but aligns with your history would definitely be a game changer. A course that's totally unrelated to what you did for your Bachelors or your professions won't get you a job in that stream without relevant experience. Do a proper and detailed check before learning in. Because financially, this would take some time for you to recover and get back on track.
Likes (Part time work): UCC supports part time. They even provide you with part time tutoring opportunities, with very good pay. Also there are good part time opportunities overall. Will have to struggle initially, but with time things will shape really great. Everyone I know got part time. You will get seasonal opportunities and if you play your cards right, that's a permanent position.
Dislikes (Internships): There won't be any support for internships from the university for the specific Masters course. If you find one, they can recommend you. During our induction, they clearly mentioned that they won't support internships or even part times considering the academic loads we have for this course. But it's not that heavy and we can balance it with part times to a good extent. Prepare early and aim for on time scheduled work for efficiency. It's not going to be easy, but things will work out in the end.

There are plenty of great Indian food places in Cork city.
Tips: The course duration is very short and you can't have every experience during those few months. If you can put your head down for the first two semesters, it's smooth sailing forward. Don't worry about part time job, partying or repaying your loan during the college term. You can do that very easily if you complete your college properly.
Likes (Indian Food): There are plenty of great Indian food places in Cork city. Very authentic South Indian and North Indian region specific restaurants are available. We can also get all the ingredients we want here at very similar prices. So do not carry basics like price and daal from India. Use that luggage space for something else.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships for Master's are not really a thing in Ireland. Most Irish kids do their Internships during their final year in high school and a few during under graduation. What is common is working for the company you do your project with. Those technical facts as an internship for Master's.

The university is really friendly and helpful for students.
Tips: I became more disciplined and able to manage time well. There are cultural shifts but only positive. Got a 2000 scholarship from the university on the basis of work experience and my undergrad score. I am totally satisfied with my university; I got to learn a lot in finance. They teach us the things that we do and need in the real world, not just unnecessary theories as they do in India.
Likes (Student Life): The university campus is really big and beautiful. It is so green and peaceful. We also have sports facilities in the university. Gym, swimming, football, basketball, squash, etc. I have 3-4 days of classes per week. One class is 2 hours each, and I have a total of 6-7 classes in one week, which is quite manageable. There are events at every festival, recruitment event, and social event. I have joined the commerce club and the volleyball club.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Here we have less options for food as compared to India, also eating outside in India was feasible. Here it's too expensive. At least 6-10 a meal. There are some Indian restaurants in the city as well. I cook myself most of the time, because it is more affordable and healthy at the same time. Eating outside is not at all an affordable option but sometimes on weekends, I eat outside.

Tips: 3 years plus experience is must as job market is getting difficult in 2025. 2,000-3,000 euros is enough for the expenditure as you can manage expenses through part time as living costs here are less than dublin. Challenging but rewarding if you are focused.
Tips: It's a hard life, get prepared to work hard and there will be no shortcuts and life here is different, where you need perseverance and time management to plan things and survive the nature of this country. Also discipline is a bit important as every small mistake somehow affects.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is vibrant and fulfilling if you're dedicated. There are plenty of clubs, cultural events and academic seminars throughout the year. I loved the balance of study and social life especially how international students are encouraged to participate.
Dislikes (Safety): There were isolated incidents of racial slurs near the campus, especially during late hours. Campus security is decent but the surroundings can feel unsafe for international students walking alone, especially at night. Also, it is very bad.

Well rounded experience with excellent teaching quality.
Tips: The university and personal life were amazing, making friends felt easy, and exploring the beautiful country. There was not much cultural shift. I availed a scholarship of 2000 euros because of my undergraduate results. If someone had already done economics, the course was not so difficult according to Indian standards.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty under my department and course were really helpful and knowledgeable in their own field. They were easily approachable, friendly and had a great way of teaching, making every student connected through group projects and class meetings. The diversity was not so large, all subject teachers were Irish except one, who was Chinese.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): After completing a Master's degree, generally the job package is offered between 28,000-35,000 euros if you are a fresher or have 1-2 years of experience. The international companies are ready to give a sponsor visa but the competition is really high. The local and small scale companies do not consider giving sponsorship.

Really good experience studying at UCC.
Tips: The course is fast-paced and has a lot of projects so managing time is crucial. After coming here it took time for me to adjust but the people in college, the teaching staff and everyone are really helpful and kind so it gets easier. I am happy with the course and the university. It's been a good experience so far.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation in the area is convenient, reliable and well connected to the campus. The frequency of bus is good and it's easy to commute to and from university. The transportation system makes it accessible for students who don't have personal vehicles and the routes cover most areas where students live.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time job opportunities are extremely competitive and difficult to secure. Each vacancy typically receives 100-200 applications, which means students often face long waiting periods before finding employment. The high competition makes it challenging for students who need to work while studying to support themselves financially.

Always have some research and preparation before coming.
Tips: Please check the course modules on the university official website. It's beneficial if you come with some work experience in Ireland/Europe. The courses mandatory modules are more focused on statistics and core data Science. So choose this university only if you want to go deep into core subject and have some preparation before coming, as the lecturers won't teach everything from scratch since it's Masters.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is great, there are many events happen throughout the year, college has great sports arena, which includes gym, swimming pool and many sports grounds. They also provide training for multiple sports, as well as swimming and gym training. There are many communities which organise a variety of events.
Dislikes (Internships): You have to find the internship yourself for the last semester, otherwise dissertation is the option. Hardly anyone gets an internship in the last semester, also as a non EU member, it becomes more difficult. For post degree completion internships, many companies do offer graduate roles where the first few months are for training.

The faculty are helpful and the campus is diverse and vibrant.
Tips: Students should be prepared for the weather, it can rain anytime and it's cold and damp. Staying away from home can be depressing in this weather but there is a strong presence of the Indian community on both campus and the city so participating in social events helps a lot. You will be able to manage the academics, there is no pressure. Managing part-time, accommodation and personal life can be challenging. The accommodation crisis in Ireland is real so be prepared for challenges. It's easier to get a job sooner than decent accommodation at a reasonable price. The campus is huge and beautiful. You can enjoy the world-class facilities and architecture. My academic experience was very good and I am happy with it. I was busy with part-time work and other personal commitments. I would have liked to enjoy the facilities and campus more often. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Safety): Safety is a major concern for students and Cork City is committed to the well-being and safety of foreign nationals, especially students. I have never felt unsafe at any time of the day or night during my course. Public transportation, connectivity and street are well-lit for the public.
Dislikes (Value for money): It's an expensive course which costs around 17000 euros for a year. For a European student, the cost is less than half. The salary of a graduate role or an experienced professional has decreased drastically in the last few years and when compared to the cost of education for a year which is somewhere near 25000+ euros is not exactly glamorous. Students need to be very strategic in their decisions to make this a profitable investment.

University College Cork has very limited internship opportunities.
Tips: Life is struggling in Ireland. The transportation system isn't very good, and the cost of tuition for non-EU students is high. However, I did receive a scholarship that lowered my tuition by 5,000 euros, so the university is good. In Ireland, college rankings don't matter but your skills will help you get a job.
Likes (Safety): Ireland is generally very safe with low crime rates. However, there is always room for improvement. The city and university provide various safety facilities, such as well-lit streets. During my time in Ireland, I never encountered any serious safety concerns.
Dislikes (Internships): The one-year master's program left little room for pursuing such opportunities. Given the time constraints and scheduling conflicts, the available internships were not tailored to fit into our academic calendar.
