Great Learning Experience at Northumbria University
Tips: Students should know the college offers good academic and career opportunities but requires strong time management and self-discipline. I adjusted well after a brief cultural shift in communication and lifestyle. I'm satisfied with the university, courses, and overall experience.
Likes (Student Life): I gave student life a 5 because campus is honestly always buzzing. Most days, I'm just rushing to classes and then immediately catching up on group projects. If there's time, I'll drop by whatever club events are going on. Honestly, with all the random cultural festivals and networking mixers happening around campus, you don't even have to try hard to get involved. Honestly being around such a diverse crowd has really helped me come out of my shell, make some great friends and just pick up solid experience along the way.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The country definitely has actual routes to staying long-term, but honestly, trying to settle down here is a grind. It’s super competitive, takes forever, and you're completely at the mercy of the job market and whatever visa rules they feel like changing. That said, if you've got the right skills and a degree, the opportunities are absolutely out there.

Challenging yet fulfilling.
Tips: Before joining student should research the academic structure, teaching style and assessment methods. Campus facilities like labs, the library, and student support. Scholarship will be applied during the time of the admission process. Some universities focus on independent learning, class participation and research. I'm satisfied with the experience.

It's not gonna be easy but it's not impossible if you try your best.
Tips: Learn to cook as outside food is so costly over here. Don't expect anyone to teach you step by step. You should learn everything by yourself. Everyone will say that it's impossible to find a job in the UK but if you work hard, do some networking and also build a great resume, then you can find a job soon.
Likes (Internships): The university helps you to find internships here through the graduate program. They help you to prepare for the interview and also help you to build a resume which will be helpful while searching for an internship and they also provide paid internships.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Many faculty are doing a PhD, so it's totally different from Indian universities. Here, no one's gonna spoon feed you. You should learn on your own. They give you a lot of assignments and projects and presentations, so self prepration is widely popular here. Don't expect anyone to teach you step by step.

The campus was culturally diverse. The lecturers were knowledgeable and encouraging.
Tips: Researching the university and its cultural heritage helped me a lot. I also made sure I checked the accreditation and global ranking system to ensure that I can still work elsewhere in the future with this valid degree. Make sure the course aligns with your goals and objectives. Plan your cost and budget living expenses might be a big factor. Trying to look for scholarships or part-time work might give you some financial ease. Also be prepared for cultural differences and adjustments get yourself a health insurance sorted and have a good knowledge of your visa documentation beforehand.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The lecturers were knowledgeable and encouraging. Independent learning and research are encouraged rather than spoon feeding like the Indian curriculum. It helps you grow and develop many skills such as critical thinking and self-awareness. I was exposed to various departments and activities which enriched my academic journey. The campus was culturally diverse, offering a chance to learn from people from different backgrounds and build a global perspective in an inclusive environment.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK has a immigration and settlement system. To obtain a permanent residency one must live there for an extended period of time with a valid visa to even be considered. The UK offers excellent education and exposure it is also expensive and highly competitive. If given an opportunity to settle in the UK I would likely not choose it as securing a stable job is very challenging.

Dull country, good education
Tips: My life has not experienced any huge transition in cultural experience because I tend to stay at home all the time. This might be because I am introverted but whoever goes outside can have the enjoyment whatever. I got a 3000 pound scholarship from my university and it is a general scholarship anyone can get. I am satisfied with the studies they provide but the country seems to be a bit dull.
Likes (Indian Food): I actually prefer cooking myself because I like home food, I tried eating out but they are all bland options. So, I started cooking for myself. As I am living in a flat with other Indians, we share the cooking responsibilities and most of the Indian cooking items are available here.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are not many on-campus part-time jobs available, I tried applying for off-campus as well but no luck. It's been a year since I came here but I still have not secured one. But few of my friends are working and they get paid a minimum of 10.42 if you are more than 21.

The best college I have seen in my life.
Tips: Students should know that you should have some certificates if you are joining through sports. You should have around £20000 in your bank account. They should’ve at least 80% in their 10 and 12 classes examination for admission. They have to speak good English .
Likes (Post study jobs): The student life is good because there is an area for us to chill where we can play games like sneaker, Table tennis, Fusball and eat or watch television. We can hang out with our friends in university. No ragging in university and all the students work together.
Dislikes (Value for money): All the professors are quite good they all help us to do our work. If we are stuck somewhere they help us to do that thing. They give us 1:1 ratio also. They don't yell at the students instead they teach students in good manner and we all understand everything that they teach.

Lively and energetic campus.
Tips: Focus on industry math. Transitioning meant mastering Geordie slang and self-study. I got a 2,500 Global Scholarship via grades. Very satisfied with Northumbria; the course is practical, and the UK’s Newcastle is an affordable, vibrant student hub.
Likes (Indian Food): 5/5 for life in the city. Days blend 24/7 library study with city fun. I love the "Toon" energy most. The SU hosts weekly gigs and cultural fairs. With 100+ clubs, from Math to Surf, there is always a community to join. It’s the ultimate student experience.
Dislikes (Internships): Faculty are 5/5; they are approachable mentors with open-door policies. I love the unique focus on computational modelling using MATLAB. The staff is truly global, hailing from Europe to Asia, ensuring a diverse and world - class learning experience.

Best when students who are really interested in leaning new things seriously
Tips: Honestly, if you're looking at Northumbria, the biggest thing is just being ready for the pace of it all. The campus is right in the heart of Newcastle, which is honestly amazing for the nightlife or just grabbing a coffee, but it’s definitely a bit of a whirlwind at first. I’d say you really have to stay on top of your own work—the tutors are great and super easy to talk to, but they definitely expect you to take the lead on things.
Also, don’t just stick to your own department. There’s a massive 'family' vibe here, especially if you get stuck into the clubs or the union, and it makes settling in way easier. It’s a really diverse place, too, so you’ll meet people from all over. Just be ready for the cold—the North is no joke! But yeah, it’s a solid choice if you want a balance between a serious course and a really lively social scene.

There are many cultural events on-campus. The faculty are highly approachable.
Tips: The university has advanced learning equipment and a world class faculty system, making it the best university for all international students who are coming to study abroad. The university also has top-class infrastructure facilities and a help desk that provides instant solutions to any problems related to studies, etc. I availed the scholarship which was helpful to me for studies. The faculty are really welcoming and they help us out with our assignments. There are on-campus events, activities, seminars, held for the students to socialise among each other. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.

Mini Asian college occupied with Asian peoples
Tips: My best advice would be please don't select third-tier universities for management programs unless you have some known professionals in the industry because getting a job is a nightmare in management. The professors won't even help you to get an unpaid internship or volunteering opportunities, and again, it is my experience and my perspective.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Apart from someone from the health sector, the jobs are highly competitive unless you are getting some role through graduate programs. The government is tightening the immigration rules, and most of the employees are not willing to provide sponsorship for the employees.

In short, it is very international student friendly university.
Tips: In India we used to have exams; here we need to submit a lot of assignments. I would suggest not making assignments from outside since you can get caught and the tutor can fail you. It's better to make the assignment by yourself. I took a scholarship; I got it through my academic excellence. I applied through the university's official website and contacted the team. I am very much satisfied they are very helpful towards international students.
Likes (Public transportation): From university to home, the public transport is very convenient. Even the university provides free shuttle bus services to travel from one campus to another. The TFL is very good and very convenient. It is a little expensive but very convenient. There are buses and tubes.
Dislikes (Internships): The university has a separate team helping the students in getting internships, but I feel the team isn’t that reliable. The student has to help themselves to get the internship since they have a bunch of students who don't even get the part-time job.

Good university. I enjoyed alot during my LLM.
Tips: Actually, it's a good university. It's worth the money, and opportunities are good. You can work in the university itself. Just try to involve yourself decently; don't force too much. Also, you can get help from the student hub, but don't call them; they can't help that way much. Rather, visit them. They help you financially as well if you can't get a job in the UK.
Likes (Public transportation): Transportation is good. I was living off campus near Whitechapel for some time, and then I changed it to Kennington. But even if you are on campus, they have free shuttle service. You don't have to hustle a lot. You have tram, DLR, Tube, and bus options.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Nowadays, as a rule the situation in the UK is changing. It is difficult to land a job where you can get sponsorship and then settlement. Although if you work hard, you can get the right option. It's difficult but not impossible. So give it a try. It will be good.

Be prepared before you come to the UK.
Tips: If you are coming to UEL for any of the MBA or Cyber courses, please expect most of the students to look and talk like you. Indian students are going to make up 80-90% of the class attendance, so culturally, there wasn’t much of a difference, really. Sort out your accommodation beforehand and make sure you keep everything in writing. House scams are way too common; try to make your payments through credit cards. It’s easier to get refunds on them if you ever get scammed. I was a Football and cricket national-level player, so I did get 30% scholarship on my fees. Overall, I was a little disappointed by my course. The faculty was good, but not permanent, so we didn’t always know who was going to teach us. I’d have also liked some more classes and group activities.
Likes (Public transportation): London has one of the best transportation systems in the world. Not just the tubes, but the buses are a big part of your daily life. It’s best if you can come prepared about the different types of tube lines there are, but even if you study for the tubes and buses around the area you’re going to be living, it will do the job.
Dislikes (Part time work): Since the limit for students is only 20hr/week, it was quite manageable for me given I had classes only on the weekends. On campus jobs are tough to find, so unless you have a reference, my advice would be to find a job off campus. Most jobs pay minimum wage; if someone offers less than that, please don’t work for them. You can find yourself in trouble.

Difficult to get employed post-study.
Tips: If you want to study here to get a taste of the multicultural environment, this university isn’t for you. You will find 95% familiar and friendly Indians with whom you can make friends and hang out. If you do not have a preference in that, carry on. Academically, there isn't anything great about this university; lecturers do their job, and they are not nosy. Not a lot of stress attending classes or in submissions.
Likes (Indian Food): There’s a lot of abundance for Indian restaurants and chains in this country. Some are really good, some are not up to the mark. Indian grocery stores are available everywhere if you want to shop and cook at home to get a feel of home. But you wouldn’t really miss home in terms of food.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Students who come to the UK are struggling to find a job, as we all know. More than 20,000 students travel back to their home country after paying for PSW to stay here, and eventually give up. It has been very tough out here in this country as there is a lot of competition. Business analysts, finance roles, and Hospitality Management are where you can now find roles, but they also expect a minimum of 2 years of experience. Freshers would struggle here post study unless you know someone internally in a company to get recommended.

Resourceful and industry-oriented university.
Tips: UEL is a very conducive and career-oriented university. Multiple avenues are available for a variety of support, including mental health, financial help, and career advice. Although I did not avail any resources, I can attest that professors are very helpful and amiable. I would recommend doing in-depth research about career options and the job market after the course you are interested in, so you are not struggling to find employment post completion of studies.
Likes (Indian Food): London is one of the world's most multicultural cities, and authentic food from almost every country and culture can be found in the right areas. Eating out regularly can become expensive, especially for students, budget options and deals are always available.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Completing an eligible course gives you the option to apply for the Graduate Route visa being changed to 18 months from 24 months, which allows you to work full-time in any job. However, the Graduate Route visa cannot be extended, and if one wants to remain in the UK, eligibility must be assessed for other visas, such as Global Talent or Skilled Worker.

The climate is so wonderful here.
Tips: I haven't experienced much cultural shift because of my university. Most of the students are from India, I just found new cultural things which mainly get celebrated here in London such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas. I get scholarship on the basis of my marks in my Bachelors and 12th class, because in my 12th class I scored more than 80 marks out of 100 and my board was CBSE. The allowance was in full concession. I'm completely satisfied with it.
Likes (Safety): Every place is captured with CCTV 24x7. Easy to access train and bus at midnight, which also have cctv. While travelling on the bus, I lost my bus card. I was not able to get on the bus because of that but the driver was kind, he allowed me to just by seeing my university card.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Rules get changed if you want to get a permanent settlement in the country. You have to live in the country for at least 10 years. And getting a sponsorship job its all bit difficult. But if you get the job and it also sponsors you, then it's best to survive in the country as you have to prove your value to the company. I would like to permanently immigrate to this country.

My university is very friendly and welcoming.
Tips: You should know your university, academic programs, key deadline, campus resources, student supports, student services, be aware of facilities like the swimming pool, career central, club, understand tuition scholarship and housing options. Knowing this helps your native campus life be effective and take full advantage of your university experience.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time work opportunities on or around campus are generally good but can vary based on the campus location filled with students and individuals. My universe is very friendly when it comes to help students.
Tips: I think they should just know the basic knowledge about what a university offers to their international students such as academic programs, key deadlines, campus resources, student support, student services, rules, be aware of facilities like the library, career, Central and clubs scholarship, and even get some knowledge about accommodation, housing accommodation and etc.
Likes (Indian Food): I gave 5 stars rating to food option in my country of origin because of the incredible diversity, culture, richness and availability of both traditional and modern cuisine. One of the main reason for this high rate is the variety of regional food available is nice.
Dislikes (Public transportation): In London, public transport is really good. The only problem is that sometimes you can get very crowded and you might have to wait for half an hour for your bus or train. That's the only reason I don't like but rest, I think it's very good.

Good university for pursuing BSc in CS.
Tips: I couldn't believe that everyone at this university was super friendly and easily approachable. I was surprised to receive a 3,000 scholarship while applying to the programme for my first year, so that's a nice plus. I'm happy here, although I can't say it's one of the top choices out there. This is a really good university if you are looking for a college that is in an area with city life. You will not find it here if you're looking for something with more greenery and a rural setting. If you want to attend a university where you will be helped as much as possible, this is the place for you. Every member of the staff, faculty, and administration is extremely dedicated to helping students thrive in their studies. The level of support you get from your tutor is something else. They are there for you at any time of day, any day of the week, no matter where you are. You can contact them for any questions or concerns you have about your modules. I'm sure I won't ever regret coming to this university.
Likes (Internships): They do help us or guide us 100% for our internship. When I was trying to get my internship, it was hard for me because, as a student who doesn't have any idea about the system going around in this country, it was hard. But the tutor really helped me to get one and guided me through it.
Dislikes (Value for money): The fees are a bit higher for international students, and local students pay only half as much for the same courses. I paid 12,700 GBP for my first year before scholarship, but it's increasing every year, which makes it a bit harder for me. Then one of my mates in the programme was paying way lessu20149,000 GBP per year. That disappoint me a lot.

You get a lot of free resources as a UEL student.
Tips: You get a lot of free resources as a UEL student, which you must utilise. The university spans across 3 major campuses in East London, and the accommodation within the University is at the Docklands campus. If you are planning to enrol on a course at this university, then it will be ideal to either live on campus or live nearby so that you can best experience the student life. There are various opportunities to participate in cultural, sports, fun, creative, tech and informative activities all across the University campuses for all the students all year round. The atmosphere is amazing and all the festivals are celebrated throughout the year. The faculty is from all over the world, with different accents and teaching styles. This might create some barriers for students from the Indian subcontinent. They do try to help the students in any way they can, and the faculty has a wealth of knowledge, but there are still some communication problems, especially for students with less experience with the English language.

Strong academics, amazing student life and a diverse learning environment.
Tips: I came here after Covid, and I can see a difference between the Indian and London education systems. There was a cultural shift in my experience here, but it did positively influence my awareness, celebrations, and the impact I’m having here. Unfortunately, I didn't get any scholarships. The rejections I’ve encountered were definitely a part of the learning curve. Overall, my experience in London has been quite rewarding. I am satisfied with the course, coursework, knowledge, faculty, networking opportunities, and social events, including all the parties and gatherings.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty for my course were very accessible and approachable. The most unique and very interesting methodology that I find quite helpful was implementing whatever you study into real life scenarios right after you study with help of role play, group discussion. Diversity was very much so in play I had teachers from Belgium, France, USA and UAE.
Dislikes (Part time work): Considering the job market, you do have to hunt for the part-time and go to every extent and try every option available. You need to organize your day and work, and most of the time it works out quite well for people. The pay range is from minimum wage to 1-2 pounds or more.

The university is okay not that good, but it's in London, that's the best part. The crowd is almost all Indian, so you won't get much exposure to foreign students. But that's good and bad at the same time. The courses are really well structured but don't take the placement year. It's useless and will not help you. What matters is you come here and get a job in a good country with a quality crowd.
Likes (Student Life): The student life is absolutely amazing, but it is subjective. If you are an outgoing person who is friendly with everyone, you will enjoy it here. The campus organizes events that keep students engaged, and they also have a common house where we can play games, do arts and crafts, and use the PS. There are many communities, such as the Indian, Bangladesh, and other regional communities, that organize events on special occasions.
Dislikes (Indian Food): For someone coming here from India, the restaurants here are a big disappointment. Both, the taste and the money are not worth it. I rather prefer cooking by myself. I'm not a professional but it is what I grew up eating and those taste hold a special place in our heart.

Money is not well spent.
Tips: No matter how much the University provides academics students have to look for employability skills. Only those who are in the eyes of the staff will be able to take up roles. This will fall on the level of enthusiastic participation. Scholarship and laptop allowance are there for free. UK is best but UEL is not even in average in the performance. I got lot of opportunities but I am afraid not everyone would be getting not even 5%.
Likes (Student Life): There are many things that go to keep the students active in campus. Though sometimes everyone goes for various part times and are not able to participate but is worth. Every now and then you will get goodies and good enjoyment. The campus is very impressive.
Dislikes (Internships): Mostly the department is trying to enhance the options, but unfortunately, there is nothing to learn or the quality of the learning or encouragement is not fruitful. It is better to take any analytics course than IBM. Doesn't fill the late for opportunities or employability. Internships are not much to go for practical exposure. They say they have a lot of plans but are uncertain.

Good country to live in. Satisfied with the University.
Tips: After coming to this college students can easily take up a job here and get settled. There are many opportunities. I did not experience much transition after coming here as I have lived like this in India. England is a good country to live in and be more modern. In my university the professors are good and they are very helpful and so is the infrastructure but the fee is a little bit much as compared to the facilities but it is okay I am satisfied with it.

Cheerful and intellectual experience
Tips: Scholarships are only offered to students who have been consistent in their academics and have a GPA of 3 and above. Also speaking good English and being an active participant will get you a lot of opportunities and you will be able to connect with people across the city and campus.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is very well connected and many options are available to commute like buses, rental cycles, trams, etc. Some students even get bus passes issues through the local depot. You can even get assistance from the University office. The tickets are also very cheap and helpful to international students who do not have their own conveyance.
Dislikes (Value for money): It gets very difficult for international students to settle down here due to very high living costs and rents. Also, food options are not adequate and it would be advised to cook your own food and buy your own groceries. Part-time jobs are also very less here and if you are able to secure then pay would not be that high.
