Master of Business in Finance and Business Analytics - Batch of 2025
3.7
The infrastructure is not so good but the professors are very helpful and friendly.
Tips: I've felt like I've known the college since I joined SETU. There wasn't any cultural difference on campus, but I did notice some cultural difference outside the campus. That's common, though. I received a scholarship from the college that significantly reduced the amount I had to pay for tuition. When it comes to safety, I am very much satisfied with it. Apart from campus security, when you come out of campus to explore places without any safety concern, we have Gaurda (police) who facts quickly when the situation turn bad. Mostly the people are cool, so there is no need to worry about safety. When I had to work, I worked until 3 a. m. , and after work I had to walk for an hour to get home. I enjoy walking home and it's easy to walk home at that time without any fear. Overall, I am moderate satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Value for money): I don't think the modules which we are studying are that in-depth. They are just very easy to learn, and I could also learn them without a professor. I think I paid more tuition feels for this kind of modules, and it is far below the standards.

The curriculum is tough and you have to submit your assignments on time.
Tips: Students should be aware of the college life, academic programs, campus culture, extra-curricular activities, support services, the location, time management expectations, and required resources for success and failure. You should also research the college thoroughly before applying, which includes looking at how you will pay for your education and whether the university offers scholarships. The faculty here are good, warm, welcoming, and the classes are highly interactive and enjoyable. The people here are good too. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

It is a good university, and they provide the educational resources that are industry relevant.
Tips: There is no culture change here, but you can apply for a scholarship of up to 4,000 euros. I am pleased with the university and its professors. In the coming days, getting a part-time job will be much more difficult because too many students are coming to Ireland. This is the main reason for the part-time shortage in Ireland currently. Many new students are struggling to find part-time work. It will take up to 3 months to find a part-time job. If you have skills and a little bit of English-speaking skills, you can easily get a job here. I've seen more Indians in the IT field than Irish because skill is important in every job and opportunity. Learn a skill before applying for a job. It's not the best in Ireland, but overall, it is a good school with plenty of educational resources.

SETU is a good university with structured courses.
Tips: Students coming from different backgrounds might experience a bit of a cultural shift. SETU offers a range of scholarships through an application process that assesses academics. Most students find SETU's courses well structured. The faculty is always there to help students do their best, and students should not hesitate to ask for help. However, there are very few opportunities to get a part-time job. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the course.

For easy going students who only want to pass
Tips: Students coming here must apply for online 2000 Euro scholarship. Easy going college with no issue with attendance. You can do part-time and make a lot of money during the course. Cheap and the best, however, Dublin has opportunities in terms of professional jobs as compared to Waterford if you can spend some extra money go to Dublin.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation in Waterford is quite good. Being a small city a lot of buses run from the city centre however, you need to get a student leap card online that will cost you very cheap public transport so get a leap student card as soon as you land.
Dislikes (Indian Food): For food, if you know how to cook it will be best for you and would be really cheap however if you order or go out it will be expensive. Please learn cooking else you will save nothing here. Especially for vegetarians, life is difficult if you don't know how to cook.

A place to shape your career
Tips: We might face a little cultural difference at first but we get used to it. The people around are quite friendly. I have learned to be independent and manage my expenses. We have a very good work-life balance here. The course I opted for didn’t have any scholarship. The university is good. You will get to learn a lot. Although the weather in Ireland is a bit gloomy. Be ready to experience all the seasons in a single day.
Likes (Quality of faculty): You can reach to faculty any time over calls or mails. They try to rectify students' doubts. The study is mostly practical based so the understanding of the concepts is clear. The faculty are majority Irish, and their accent is a little difficult to catch at first but you will get used to it.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Ireland doesn’t have many India restaurants and the ones that are present are comparatively very high. A biryani would be more than 20 euros. Baguettes are one of the cheapest options you can find here (€5). I would prefer to cook at home and eat mostly at home.

Waterford Institute of Technology has a diverse campus life.
Tips: After moving you will find yourself living independently and learning to speak fluently without any hesitation. Also, would suggest meeting new people and joining cultural clubs which would help out a lot. You can also participate in sports events which are held here semi-annually.
Likes (Safety): Many international students from different parts of the world and diversities study here at Carlow campus. Locals are very friendly and racism or hate crime is a very rare phenomenon here. Campus authorities and local people help out a lot which makes it easier.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Common industries in Waterford include healthcare, education, manufacturing, and technology but preferential treatment is given to candidates. Also, lots of scope is there after engineering and IT but you will have to work out and search a lot to get the best company offering you PSW visa.

Best at Public transportation.
Tips: It's a good decision if you have opted to come here, it's a good opportunity and the college is really nice. The campus is really beautiful. There are well-connected bus routes to the college so travelling is not a hassle. There are a lot of sports and club activities which will keep you indulged throughout the semester.
Likes (Public transportation): Its very well connected. There are cycles for public everywhere around the city where you can rent them around the campus as well. So that's a good option and apart from that the bus routes are well connected and the timings are also good so you can make use of them.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The food is not similar to what we get in India, you will have to sacrifice here. The food here is expensive. From a student's perspective, it's very difficult to buy food from Indian shops because it's expensive. The canteen food is also not priced at a level where you can have a meal there regularly.

Strong academics, supportive faculty and good career opportunities
Tips: The main thing to prepare for before starting the MSc CS at Glasgow is the academic style—it's very independent, so you'll be spending a lot of time doing self-study and research projects outside of lectures. The Scottish weather takes some adjusting to, but the campus vibe more than makes up for it. Receiving the £10k scholarship made studying abroad way more manageable. The course content covers all the key areas like ML, data science, AI, and cybersecurity with really practical, project-based learning. Plus, faculty support is solid and the university brings in a lot of tech employers for career fairs throughout the year.

New experience for growth
Tips: Moving to Glasgow is definitely a culture shock—mostly down to the gray weather and the thick Scandi-adjacent Scottish accent—but if you’re used to shifting environments, you’ll fit right in. The people here are insanely welcoming, so settling into the West End is a breeze. Course-wise, I’ve got zero complaints about the uni setup. Just make sure you sort your money out before you pack. Scholarships are totally dependent on your exact course, so skip the generic advice and dig into the university’s specific funding pages the second you apply.

Excellent exposure with welcoming atmosphere
Tips: Scholarships are possible for international students, especially from India. The usual scholarship amount is £5,000; the maximum is £10,000. The university is good for exposure. Cultural shifts exist because there are not a lot of Indian communities in Glasgow as compared to England, especially London. Overall, the course and university are good for international students. They are welcoming.
Likes (Indian Food): Glasgow, as a city, offers a lot of choices across restaurants, across every cuisine. There are plenty of Indian restaurants to order from. Also, there are Indian shops as well for groceries where you can buy a lot of ready-to-eat food items from Haldiram and other brands, which makes cooking easier as well. These Indian grocery shops basically provide you everything essential for cooking as well.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Not a lot of options are available for international students; no direct university placements are happening as well. Based on the government guidelines, it’s very difficult for the forms for our intern students; even if they are doing that, they have to pay a minimum of £35,000 annually, and they are only allowed to work for one and a half years post-education, which makes it challenging to find a job.

UofG - The university that helped me discover myself
Tips: There was a big cultural shift. A lot of diversity is something that stood out to me. It was a wonderful experience interacting with people across the world and learning about their culture. I did not find any scholarship. I am extremely satisfied with the university. The course curriculum was also incredible detailed. The professors were extremely helpful in aiding my transition from engineering to physics research.
Likes (Indian Food): Food options were great, honestly. Lots of Indian restaurants all around. Lots of places to try a lot of cuisines. You can source prices and a lot of Indian spices as well. I did pack some spices myself from home, but there are also spices available to buy at local stores.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Chances of permanent settlement in the country are a bit of a problem right now due to stricter anti-migration laws. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful place to settle. Personally, I wouldn't settle in the UK. But that's just me XD. Although I can definitely see why it's a very attractive option. A prestigious university with a vibrant, diverse community and endless opportunities to connect.
Tips: The campus is humongous and the city is very vibrant. I personally felt welcome and it's not like you will feel alone. There are so many societies in the University that you can join and meet people. I applied through a consultancy before coming here, you can do it alone as well but it makes the process easier. I received the India Merit Award which was based on my Undergrad marks. Check the University and the coursework you are applying to thoroughly. Check the job opportunities and be prepared.
Likes (Safety): The city is very safe, you can walk in the area at night, especially Glasgow West End and you won't feel anything. Students always have an app provided by the university that they can use whenever they run into any kind of problem that requires immediate attention. It's like a 24x7 service available over the call, irrespective of you being on campus or not. Luckily, I hadn't had any such experience. Glasgow is a very vibrant city full of diversity and amazing people.
Dislikes (Internships): You will have plenty of opportunities for an internship but the competition is fierce; you need to keep an eye out for internships as there are only a few spots. You might not get an internship if you are in your Master's as most of them are looking for undergrad students and if you are able to find some, it might not be in your relevant field of study. The university does offer a lot of internships for which you can apply. They are both paid and unpaid.

Tips: Students should know the university is academically strong, cultural diverse and offers many opportunities. Getting involved in campus life early really enhances the experience. Dislikes (Part time work): Because the professors are highly knowledgeable, supportive and genuinely invested in student learning. Faculty are very approachable and easy to reach through office hours and quick discussions after class. The faculty is diversified in nationality and background bringing valuable global perspectives to the learning experience.

Tips: Students should know that the university offers a supportive learning environment but also expects them to be active and independent. The transition was smooth though there was definitely a cultural shift in terms of academic style and student independence, which took a little time to adjust to. The allowance really helped ease my financial planning. I am satisfied with my university, my course as the experience has been enriching both academically and personally.
Dislikes (Student Life): The faculty genuinely care about student learning and explain concepts well with real applications. They are very approachable whether in class or over email, and you can't easily reach out for support. University of Glasgow, the well oriented and fun loving academic institution.
Tips: There was no significant cultural shock. The people in Glasgow are very friendly and do not discriminate. The weather might be an initial challenge, but learning to cook can help. I didn't receive any scholarships. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Student Life): My day at college typically involves lectures, library visits, and exploring the beautiful campus. I appreciate the low-stress environment, the helpful staff, and the numerous student support platforms, along with the campus's overall beauty. The college organises many events, such as Holi parties, Garba nights, Halloween events, summer barbecues, and industrial visits, and I participate in around 1-5 of them. There are also various communities for different religions and nationalities, such as Indian student clubs, student welfare groups, and mental well-being initiatives.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer cooking for myself. Local restaurants mostly serve non-vegetarian food, and as a vegetarian, I've noticed many use beef oil. Don't romanticize the struggles but prepare for a stressful but rewarding experience.
Tips: The university is very liberal, so sometimes viewing things from another perspective can be seen in a negative way. There was a sentence from my tutor, at the very first meeting of the year, that summarises the entire course: 'You get what you put into it'. If you work hard and put your effort into getting as much as possible out of the course, it will be a great experience. The subways and buses get you anywhere. All public transportation is easy to use and get familiar with. There is also the option to get a complete transportation pass, which you can travel on most public transportation with for free, if you're under 25.
Dislikes (Internships): There is not much guidance regarding internships. They are only mentioned occasionally, and the career service does not do a great job. It's not a target school for all subjects, so that might depend on your course. The study trip to Brussels is a good opportunity to network, but it might not be relevant for non-European students.

Tips: Glasgow is very diverse and inclusive, and so friendly that I felt at home quickly. The University was also very helpful in my transition. I was looking for scholarships and unfortunately missed the deadline to apply for one. However, there are many people who got scholarships earlier. I'm still very satisfied with the university, and it's given me a lot of good opportunities to build skills and meet people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Likes (Public transportation): The campus is in the heart of the city. There are subways nearby, a train station is 20 minutes away, and there are bus stops in multiple locations. There are student discounts available and, most importantly, there are student pass facilities. The transportation is very convenient and decently affordable.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee is too much if there is no scholarship provided. The expenses on student accommodation, yearly living expenses, and extra-curricular activities all come to a lot of investment when it comes to the return of job opportunities. There is a major housing crisis in Glasgow.
Tips: Public transportation through buses is free when you are under 22 years old, and they provide you apply for the YoungScot card. While the university is great, there is also a major housing crisis in Glasgow and therefore, the cost of living will be high. Provided that your personal statement displays individuality and your grades are good, you should be able to avail a scholarship of 7000 pounds with ease. My only concern is the massively problematic cost of living crisis.
Likes (Student Life): There's a wide range of student societies at UofG. Makes for excellent avenues for networking and socialising. Moreover, most spaces are safe and inclusive. The nightlife is quite great as well. The student campus is quite diverse and liberal. It's a very inclusive space.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Most practicing psychologists require a master's at the least. However, job prospects beyond this are excellent. But my course has still bestowed me with excellent research skills, which are highly sought after by employers.

My journey with ups and downs that I am proud of.
Tips: 1- Before coming here it is advisable to know the culture of the country. 2- Do your research on job market within your domain. 3- Become extrovert, make friends and build your community. 3- Get connected with the alumni. 4- Try to understand the university teaching method. 5- Come equipped with technical skills.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Current market conditions are not strong where my personal experience lies. Companies are bit hesitant towards sponsoring visa to international students to save cost and due to continuous changes in immigration laws. My plan is to work here in the UK for the next 3-4 years and understand the working culture and implement it in India.

People Make Glasgow. The university is the heart of the city.
Tips: Being an international student I expected to take time and settle in Scotland. To my surprise, everything looked easier as soon as I landed there. People were friendly, college services made my living expenses and budgeting cut down and professors were approachable.
Likes (Public transportation): The university is the heart of the city. As the banners in Glasgow quote - "People make Glasgow", it means the same too. There are a lot of buses connecting students to the university. Students have heavy discounts throughout their valid student cards.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): As we all know, the visa rules changed in the UK over the span of 3 years due to political change in the economy which is why permanent settlement and acquiring a VISA has become a little difficult for students. I would definitely love to stay in the country.

My University experience was lively and super fun
Tips: I am quite satisfied with my university and my course. I did not receive any scholarships. I would have liked the course to be a bit longer because one year for a Master's feels a bit short. By the time you get used to your life in Glasgow, the year ends. I had received the university experience that I wanted to.
Likes (Student Life): I had 3-4 classes per week, each of 2 hours. There were multiple social events from my department and the university as a whole throughout the year. There were many different societies and clubs which organized events throughout the year and I attended most of them and they were great for socialising.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are on campus and off campus jobs available but it is also quite competitive to get and is not very easy to get hired. Part-time work *for me* was manageable as my contact was flexible. And I got paid minimum wage for part time which changed every April and was decent enough for me, personally to sustain (this might vary according to everyone's financial situation).

Good place to do Master's
Tips: Students coming from India will have a major cultural shift in respect to both academic and personal life. I didn't get any scholarships. I love this University because of its good teaching system, 24/7 library access, liberal, fantastic faculties.

100% would recommend studying here!
Tips: With the number of international students here, it's a very easy transition just the weather is a little cold so be prepared for that. Other than that, feel right at home! Scholarships are available if you apply for them early on in the process. Overall, quite happy with my choice of course and University of Glasgow is a beautiful place to live, would definitely consider studying here.
Likes (Public transportation): Easy bus and subway access - bus around is 5 pounds return and subways 3 pounds per day. Bus passes and subway passes are available (free bus for students under 21). Bus pass would make the bus around 2 pounds a day and subways around 1.5 (depending on the duration of the pass you would take). Personally prefer the subways, but the connectivity of it is not very good.
Dislikes (Internships): Not too many opportunities, but have to be actively looking for them. Computer Science jobs are quite easy to get at the graduate level. Internships itself though are not as easy, but possible regardless. Placements as available in India are not a thing here so be vary of that.

Beautiful Architecture, Knowledgeable tutors and culture to be adapted
Tips: I faced a cultural shift starting from the accent even if my IELTS score was quite well, it was so difficult for others to understand my accent and so was it for me but gradually I learned and adapted. The scottish culture is good. I like everything about it from people to their bagpipes I love it here! There is an international student scholarship given to students but it isn't much. Teachers are good and they teach in a research oriented way. Placements is okay-okay but when post study visa is there it does help to secure a job. The infrastructure is very good as I said I like being here this is one reason architecture is very old and sometimes this place or Edinburgh seems like you are straight out of Harry Potter book!
