Supportive environment with strong academic focus and affordable.
Tips: Students should be aware of the strong academic support, experienced faculty, and diverse opportunities available. However, they should also prepare for a rigorous workload, actively utilise campus resources, and engage in networking to fully benefit from their time here.
Likes (Public transportation): It is reliable, free, well-connected, and efficient, offering easy access to major areas, reducing the need for a personal vehicle, and supporting sustainable urban mobility. Buses run frequently until midnight and start early in the morning.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Limited opportunities exist in my field, along with visa restrictions and unclear pathways to long-term employment after graduation, making it less favourable compared to other countries. As a current student, I lack clarity on this matter.

Tips: The most important thing is to make sure to grasp the academic setting in a foreign country. Get ready for a change in culture too. Reach out to the student support services early on, they can really help ease this transition. I'm in a program with high demand in the industry, so it's crucial to pick a course wisely. Also, try connecting with fellow students it makes learning more enjoyable and helps you understand things better. Strict academically but with a fun and happy campus life.
Tips: This is a very academically strict university with good campus life. I have learned how to manage my day and balance work and study together. Living away from family, I'm learning to do things on my own. You can also try for scholarship based on your academic performance. We have a safety shuttle that runs from 8 pm to 2 am. There are also stampede buses that run from 6 am to 2 am, and they come every 10-20 minutes. Every Saturday, there's a shopping shuttle that takes us to all the retail and food stores so we can buy all the basic necessities. Last, there's also the subway, which takes us downtown in a few minutes. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Post study jobs are based on individual persons' performance. You should attend classes and perform well so you can try to land positions as a teaching assistant or grader, which looks good on your resume. These positions might help you get an internship that you can later convert into a full-time position.

Great university for international students especially for computer science.
Tips: I didn't experience a great cultural shift at this university, and I found like-minded people in my class. The professors are very nice and approachable, and they teach the course material very well. The course structure is good, and the teaching staff is diverse in nationality. Most of the teaching and course structure is very practical, which I really appreciate. However, I didn't get any scholarship because my CGPA was not very good. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the university.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): SUNY Buffalo State has a good reputation, which makes it easier to get a job after graduation. This makes it easier to get permanent immigration options. However, I'm not planning to immigrate to this country. If I get a chance, I might consider moving here.
