University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) offers the #YouAreWelcome scholarship which was developed as a result of US higher education institutions committed towards providing a safe and diverse environment for international students. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship is given as follows:
- Must be a first-year, undergraduate international applicant (F1 Visa) to the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Transfer students are not eligible.
- The student must demonstrate interest and personal initiative in activities involving intercultural learning and exchange.
- Students are required to complete the scholarship application with a 500 to 1000-word essay describing their aspirations to conduct projects, research, employment and other experiences that will advance intercultural learning
