Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering - Batch of 2028
3.3
Quality meets affordability.
Tips: Making a weekly course schedule that works for you is pretty easy. For example, I've been taking all my classes in the morning since I work part-time in the afternoons and sometimes evenings. It's not always easy balancing work and school, but you get the hang of it over time. The transition to university should be fairly smooth. There are a lot of international students, so you'll easily find people from your community. Plus, there are events like the Holi party or DJ events that can help you meet people and have fun. But when you come to a new country, you do have to adjust to their culture as well. Finding the balance between sharing your own culture and embracing a new one is important. I'm personally really happy with the University of Manitoba. I had the option of going to much bigger universities like UBC or UofT, but when you compare the tuition and accommodation cost here to those places, it's much more affordable while still offering great academic and career opportunities.
Likes (Indian Food): There are multiple Indian restaurants here offering a variety of Indian dishes that would keep your belly happy. I was also surprised by the amount of Indian snacks and other products being offered in the grocery stores and general stores. Parle G, Navratan Oil, Soan Papdi, Kurkure, etc. except for Haldiram's Gup Shup.
Dislikes (Safety): There is a huge issue with theft and aggressive homeless folks in the city, especially downtown. Now, I do empathize with the homeless, and I understand the situation they are in, but they sometimes cause a ruckus in buses, bus stops, grocery stores, etc., making people uncomfortable. I am not saying they will hurt you, but it is better to stay in your lane. That being said, it is a nice gesture to give them a free drink, snacks, or change; they always appreciate that.

Bachelor of Computer Science Honours - Batch of 2025

Average school in terms of studies and overall experience.
Tips: Before coming here buy the winter gear from here instead of your home country. Some of the winter gear from other countries is not suitable for the winter here. There are a few scholarships here but require you to maintain a good academic performance to obtain them. Overall, it's a pretty average school.

Value for money,it gives memories, experience, and opportunities to the students.
Tips: This university will give you a lifetime of memories and skills that will help you in life, beyond your chosen career. You will find innumerable opportunities to explore your capabilities and use them in life. There are several clubs and design teams that you can join, which will really add to your resume. There is also a good advantage of developing your network here since there are always new guest lecturers, workshops, seminars, etc. happening on campus. Students joining this college should know that it has a high fee structure. The vibrant campus community and abundance of opportunities to grow. It is always rainy here but it gives a lot of exposure. High research output and supportive faculty. There is a huge campus. Good food options are there with high living costs. It is one of the best engineering and business programs in Canada.

An experience to be watched out.
Tips: I experienced a cultural shift but it doesn't affect me because one should expect that when you are going away from your home city. I did not avail of any scholarships but there are some where international students can get it. Very good university and the courses are excellent as well as the city and country.
Likes (Value for money): The faculty and facilities that the campus provided are absolutely worth your money. There is an ETIC lab in our college which provides all the resources that a student need to build prototypes for their projects and also if they want to do any project the school will sponsor the project if they like it.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The chances of getting permanent immigration is 1 out of 10. Given a chance I will not immigrate to this country because I just need a different country exposure and rather living there I would like to go to different cities, and countries and like to know much better about how the other countries work.

Combined and accelerated degrees. Accreditation, Industry partnerships
Tips: Students must remember that fees are a little high in comparison to other universities which I believe is because of the location (New york central location). Living on campus will be high ($15-18k/year). Most students prefer to live in Jersey city because it's quite cheaper and very easy to commute daily.
Expenses include: Tuition fees + Insurance/semester ($1000-1100) +books are not forced to buy if you can manage from another student or library or if you can find it online for free (Professors use their own presentation slides to teach students) +living expenses (average $1500-1700/Month)+ personal expenses
Approximately: 52-53 Lakhs total tuition fees+1.5-2 Lakhs/year Insurance+1.2-1.5 Lakhs/month Living, food, internet, and commute+other personal expenses
Likes (Post study jobs): I rated 5 on student life because, first and foremost, there are multiple class/session options available for all the courses including day classes as well as late evening classes in person. Students can choose to study from zoom and online classes as well depending on the courses. Free access to Bloomberg certifications, LinkedIn learnings, the New York Times, and many other activities. Students get an opportunity to participate in number of activities to develop entrepreneurial skills and show their talents to industry leaders.
It's quite flexible here and the campus environment is also pleasant. You will find many Indian students to help you with your course and other activities. The campus is in the central location of New York, so no doubt filled with many career opportunities. Job placement is more than 94 percent.
Dislikes (Safety): I rated 5 on the quality of faculty because, at NYIT, all the professors , admissions registrars, and course advisors including dean are very cooperative and helpful.
They are always there to provide all the possible support and information to the students whether it is fess payment, class registration, or any other course-related support required.
Moreover, the quality of education is good and all the professors are highly qualified from world-known universities. Students often and easily get a chance to meet students from other areas (EX: business analytics, marketing, finance, accounting or any other).
