The faculty are helpful and the campus is diverse and vibrant.
Tips: Students should be prepared for the weather, it can rain anytime and it's cold and damp. Staying away from home can be depressing in this weather but there is a strong presence of the Indian community on both campus and the city so participating in social events helps a lot. You will be able to manage the academics, there is no pressure. Managing part-time, accommodation and personal life can be challenging. The accommodation crisis in Ireland is real so be prepared for challenges. It's easier to get a job sooner than decent accommodation at a reasonable price. The campus is huge and beautiful. You can enjoy the world-class facilities and architecture. My academic experience was very good and I am happy with it. I was busy with part-time work and other personal commitments. I would have liked to enjoy the facilities and campus more often. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Safety): Safety is a major concern for students and Cork City is committed to the well-being and safety of foreign nationals, especially students. I have never felt unsafe at any time of the day or night during my course. Public transportation, connectivity and street are well-lit for the public.
Dislikes (Value for money): It's an expensive course which costs around 17000 euros for a year. For a European student, the cost is less than half. The salary of a graduate role or an experienced professional has decreased drastically in the last few years and when compared to the cost of education for a year which is somewhere near 25000+ euros is not exactly glamorous. Students need to be very strategic in their decisions to make this a profitable investment.

University College Cork has very limited internship opportunities.
Tips: Life is struggling in Ireland. The transportation system isn't very good, and the cost of tuition for non-EU students is high. However, I did receive a scholarship that lowered my tuition by 5,000 euros, so the university is good. In Ireland, college rankings don't matter but your skills will help you get a job.
Likes (Safety): Ireland is generally very safe with low crime rates. However, there is always room for improvement. The city and university provide various safety facilities, such as well-lit streets. During my time in Ireland, I never encountered any serious safety concerns.
Dislikes (Internships): The one-year master's program left little room for pursuing such opportunities. Given the time constraints and scheduling conflicts, the available internships were not tailored to fit into our academic calendar.

Dislikes (Internships): Internships are rarely available and challenging to secure without strong referrals, often proving difficult even with them. Unfortunately, the college does not provide much assistance in this process, leaving students to rely heavily on personal networks and persistence.

Tips: The university offers various courses. Find the ones that are actually in demand in the country that align with your ambitions in your career and enrol. The consultant often tells you a particular course is high in demand, so do your research and get in. The country is very safe for women on public transport and the university campus was very welcoming. The city and people are friendly and welcoming. The Garda or police are helpful to foreigners as well. It is a nice country but competitive too. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experience here.

Tips: The culture shift is huge in terms of work culture, but it's quite easygoing with a lot of self-development time. The university provides scholarships based on individual academic performance, and I received one based on my class 10 and 12 performance, as well as my bachelor's degree.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent settlement in Ireland is an easy option, as it takes just 5-6 years to get permanent residency. Although I haven't given any thought to permanent immigration, it wouldn't be a bad idea to stay here for 5-10 years and then consider other options.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are not many proper Indian restaurants to choose from. The pricing depends on the restaurant's location. The pricing is on a bit higher side with one main dish costing around 17-18 Euros. The restaurant isn't up to the mark as per Indian taste. Cooking yourself can be a better option.

There is a large Indian community in Cork, and there are many Indian restaurants and stores that serve a wide variety of Indian cuisines. If you prepare beforehand, food should not be a concern.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Post-study jobs depend entirely on the skill set the candidate possesses and networking done in the due course of time. Students should talk to the university staff and people pursuing other advanced courses in the college. Participate in career fairs and meet new people every day to learn more.

University and course review.
Tips: First of all, I don't know how to do cooking. I have managed to do it somehow and yes, we have to manage a lot of things on our own.
We can get a normal University scholarship here. I am satisfied with the learnings from people belong to different backgrounds. Course's syllabus is industry relevant. There are so many things which we learn when we move abroad. I personally got to learn so many things about food and culture in Ireland.
Likes (Student Life): It depends on the which day of the week and when does the class begins. I typically start my day going to college library and then to classes. There are lots of cultural events being organised in the college, as well as in the city. In the month of September, there is a cultural night and also every year in Cork city, there is a Jazz festival wherein all the music artists come. If we talk about clubs and communities, lots of clubs and students from different nationalities are a part of them including sports and consulting. And of course there is an Indian society as well.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There any many Indian food outlets in the city. I prefer cooking instead of going out as it is cheaper and convenient. I prefer going to grocery store and do grocery shopping for a week and then cook which can be a time-consuming thing, but it saves a lot of expenses.

Cork is a Welcoming City and UCC is the heart of Cork.
Tips: I would highly recommend gaining work experience before coming to this country. There was a cultural shift when I landed here but now, we are getting used to it. I got a scholarship of 1000 Euros because of the grades and Work Experience that I had. I'm very satisfied with the overall experience.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The process is simple if we have landed in a Job and if we work for 4-6 years. It then becomes sure that we will be getting the PR easily in Ireland. I would like to be the president of this country, given that I land up a Job and stay employed for 4-6 years.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I live in Cork and the Indian food options are very limited as we have one restaurant in the city and one more in the outskirts of Cork. So, it's quite difficult to have Indian food. A Biryani would be costing 15-20 Euros (approximately 1400-2000 INR). I prefer cooking myself as I cook lots of dishes.

UCC: A transformative experience.
Tips: Before joining, students should know that the college offers a supportive learning environment but requires time management due to the academic workload. I experienced a cultural shift, especially adjusting to diverse perspectives and independent living but the transition was smooth. Student life is great as it offers a great balance of academics and fun. My day is filled with classes, group work, and time spent with friends. I enjoy the sense of community the most. The campus hosts various events like cultural fests, guest lectures, and sports activities, and there are many student clubs as well. Overall I am very satisfied with the university, course and experience in this country enriching both academically and personally.
Dislikes (Value for money): The faculty are very knowledgeable, supportive, and accessible. The teaching method is practical, with an emphasis on real-world applications through case studies and group projects. The faculty is diverse, with members from different nationalities, which contributes a variety of perspectives to the learning experience.

The academics is stressful with more assignments and exams.
Tips: There were many Indians in my course, so I didn't feel much of a cultural shift. I received a basic scholarship from my college of around 2000 Euros which every student will get but didn't get the full scholarship that I expected. Additionally, the college doesn't provide placements, so I had to look for one off-campus. Overall, I'm not completely satisfied with my experience at UCC.
Likes (Indian Food): I prefer to cook for myself, and there was an Asian shop near my home where I could buy lentils and other ingredients. The price of ingredients varied depending on the product. For example, a 10kg bag of rice costs 28 Euros, and 500 grams of toor dal costs about 3 Euros. Vegetables were quite expensive compared to India, 300 grams of ladies' fingers cost about 3 Euros.
Dislikes (Internships): I didn't participate in an internship during my course of study because my course didn't have an internship program. Additionally, our professors advised us not to seek internships or part-time employment during our studies. As a result, I didn't receive any guidance from the college about internships. I'm not sure if there are any internships available that are relevant to my field of study.

The university has a wonderful, warm and excellent college atmosphere.
Tips: It was a cultural shock for me when I came here but as it's being said slowly and gradually you start loving it. Becoming independent and decision-making is the best thing that happened to me after coming here. I am very much satisfied with the work culture. I got a scholarship of 2000 Euros.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): You can avail the citizenship in 5 years after being a regular taxpayer and it depends if I want to avail that opportunity as I am here for 3 years and 2 years doing the job. It also depends on the company if they want to sponsor you otherwise you can sponsor yourself as well once your job is in the critical list of occupations and general as well. If you wish to stay here for a long tenure you will be getting ample opportunities. Last but not least patience is the key, always remember that.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): It depends on the company-to-company basis, but if you have some work experience before coming for a Master's definitely you will be getting an edge over freshers and you can get a job easily, being technical never goes out of fashion. If you have more than 3 years' experience then the country is for you, they need technical professionals.

Thorough evaluation and thought must be given before you commit to the course.
Tips: The course was quite stressful and didn't have a lot of options including some hidden conditions such as only qualifying for your full master's degree on scoring a 60 above on average. The course isn't designed for fresh graduates. You are in a much better position if you approach this after at least 5 years of experience.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty were pretty approachable but there are a few who weren't. Overall staff were pretty accessible. But most of them do not entertain or support questions / provide support post examinations. Make sure you have a clear path after graduation to ensure a stress-free transition from student life to graduate life.
Dislikes (Indian Food): A lot of options are available but they do end up being quite pricey for a meal. Indian food is quite hard to find in Cork but it is available but slightly pricey so it is better to buy groceries and have homemade meals. Also, avail of student discounts wherever possible and claim free memberships from larger stores to help save some extra cash.

A friendly university with good and helpful people.
Tips: Please arrange for accommodation before arriving. If you cannot, please book student accommodation or a hostel for your initial few days so that you don't struggle for shelter. People in Ireland and at UCC in particular are very friendly and I would recommend interacting with locals. As in every other country, locals will respect you more if you do not impose your culture on them but rather share and learn the local culture too.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I prefer trying new cuisines and the Indian food quality in Cork is average although you would find Indian restaurants. The local pubs have nice food and the English market has quality meat and seafood. Cork City has some great restaurants and bakeries that serve local and European cuisine.

Wonderful and filled with opportunities.
Tips: There is always a cultural shift and students coming here should keep that in mind. Networking is important, and talking to people helps through the transition. Students can get scholarships based on their Bachelors grade. Overall I am very satisfied with the university, the course structure, teaching and opportunities.
Likes (Safety): There are no concerns for safety in Cork City, but it is always better to be careful and sensible. People can travel late night. My advice would be not to be careless when it comes to safety. There maybe drunk people or junkies roaming late night so if you are walking late make sure you are in a group and not alone.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The job opportunities are not many at the moment. There are lots of immigrants and the market is relatively small so chances of getting permanent residence is difficult. My advice would be if someone is a fresher or with less than 3 years of experience then they should delay their travel to Ireland and get some proper experience first atleast 5 years. Ireland has a good market for experienced professionals and companies generally sponsor visa if the candidate has good experience.

Tips: Significant cultural shifts, methods of studying and assignments vary a lot from the Indian system. Internships and Job opportunities and even part-time work are challenging to obtain especially for non-European nationals. The course is redundant and repetitive.
Likes (Safety): The city and campus are safe both during the day and night, with no major incidents taking place. The general population is accepting with no serious discrimination taking place. Streets are safe to walk in at night, and the Garda (Police) are helpful and responsible.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Buses are not on time and frequency varies. The system is unnecessarily complicated. No metro lies and cab systems like Uber are expensive as well. Other methods include walking which you'll be doing a lot of, or purchasing a bicycle or electric scooter.

Average University - Don't expect much
Tips: The university is average, facilities are good. The course is generic, won't help with job preparation. Life is not that fast-paced here, job opportunities are fewer, housing crisis is true in Dublin and Cork. The job market is not fresher-friendly.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): It's easy to get PR here compared to the US / Canada. You just need to work for 2 years on a Critical skills permit job to get Stamp 4 (PR) here. Citizenship is the next step, it's achievable. But it is a choice of do you really want to settle here as the economy is not booming.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is strictly average, not many experienced teachers. We had only one good professor who left in the middle of the year. The existing teachers don't teach properly, just read from ppt slides. Some of the curicullum that is taught is not useful for the job market like theory subjects.

Try to avail scholarships. People are nice.
Tips: Avail of scholarships before joining the university, try and email the university about available scholarships. Try and join different clubs and societies and get more exposure from different areas. The culture shock is there but people in Ireland are very accommodating.
Likes (Part time work): There are lots of part time opportunities in and around the university. The minimum wage is quite good so overall the experience of the internships is good. The average payout now is around 13 euros per hour and the part-time work available is manageable.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The quality of faculty is great and we have very professional faculty who are world-renowned. The faculty are all very accessible and approachable and are available at desired times. The teaching methods are very good and classes are done in two ways where classes are engaging.

Dislikes (Internships): For selected Masters Programs, UCC helps students in acquiring internships, but there was nothing like that in my course. We were given some really good interesting job-related projects which helped us with our interviews. Also for courses like Business Analytics and Data Analytics you get to interact with people from a wider spectrum.

Likes (Safety): We will be able to access anything through our college student card, so that's a great opportunity, we can explore many things, and we will have possible ways to improve our networking through interacting with people who come from different regions.

Tips: If you are going to study computing, be prepared to give up part-time work. The course is very practical and requires dedicated study hours. Don't expect easy passing like at other institutions; you need to put in the effort, prepare, and study to succeed.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The course is well-designed with many hands-on portions, sometimes a bit too much even. But it's still good value for money. The teachers are good at what they teach, but each subject has its own unique assessments and assignments that you need to pass individually.
Dislikes (Part time work): My course, M.Sc. in Computing, involved four days of on-campus lectures, numerous projects, and assignments, leaving little time for part-time work. The average hourly pay is around 13, but this varies depending on the workplace and hours worked.

Tips: You might find it difficult to manage part time with studies as they have a tight schedule with assignments and exams. Weekends off can also mean spending time on submissions. Exams are taken seriously hence one would need lot of hard work. You will have study leave and some holidays to enjoy. Faculty members are highly professional and supportive. They prepare you for your career after studying. Overall, I am satisfied with my college.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty were mainly Irish. They were professional and great teachers. They were always happy to help. They were always approachable if you had a question. Most importantly, they taught you how to deal with the professional problems that you might encounter in your career.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time opportunities depends on the vacancy and your willingness to do any work. Currently the vacancies are less hence some people might find it difficult to get one. Also you might not unnecessarily get the full 20 hours to work in a week hence finding it difficult to earn for your living expenses.

It’s also essential to be prepared for cultural diversity, as the college hosts students from all over the world.
The transition to life at Griffith was overall smooth but came with an initial cultural shift. From classroom behaviour and teaching methods to social customs and communication styles, everything required a period of adjustment. However, the supportive faculty and friendly peers made the process easier. Participating in group projects, workshops, and college events helped me integrate and develop both academically and personally.
I was fortunate to receive a partial merit-based scholarship. The scholarship application was submitted during the admission process, and selection was based on academic performance and a personal statement. The allowance helped reduce tuition fees, which made studying abroad more affordable and manageable.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at Griffith College, both in terms of my course and the country. The curriculum is industry-relevant, the lecturers are knowledgeable, and the campus offers modern facilities. Living in Ireland has been a rewarding experience due to its friendly people, beautiful landscapes, and safety. Griffith has not only enhanced my academic knowledge but also contributed to my personal growth and career readiness.
Likes (Indian Food): Dublin, especially around Griffith College, offers a good range of international food choices, though it may not fully match the authenticity or variety available back home. There are numerous Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and African restaurants within a short distance of the college. These places cater well to the student population, and the food is generally flavorful and satisfying.
Typical restaurants include Indian curry houses, halal takeaway spots, Chinese and Thai noodle bars, and kebab joints. Prices are fairly reasonable for students, with meals usually costing between €8 and €15. There are also more premium restaurants if you're looking for a special treat, where prices can range from €20 to €25 per meal. In addition, fast-food chains and local cafés provide convenient options for a quick bite.
Grocery stores and Asian or ethnic supermarkets like Tesco, Lidl, Eurasia, and Asia Market offer ingredients and spices from various countries, making it easier to cook your own meals if you prefer traditional home-style food. This has been especially helpful in maintaining a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Personally, I prefer cooking at home during the week to save money and eat healthier, but I enjoy dining out on weekends or during social gatherings. The availability of ingredients and dining options allows me to maintain a balanced routine and stay connected to my culinary roots while exploring Irish and international cuisine.
Dislikes (Internships): While Griffith College provides some support in this area, there is still room for improvement in terms of guidance, structure, and opportunities. The Careers Office occasionally shares internship openings through emails and job portals, and they do conduct workshops on CV writing, interview preparation, and LinkedIn optimisation. However, the process of finding and securing internships is largely student-driven.
For international students unfamiliar with the Irish job market, this can be challenging. There is limited one-on-one mentorship or a dedicated placement program for many non-technical or niche postgraduate courses. Guidance is often general and not always tailored to individual industries or specific fields of study.
In my case, while the college shared internship resources, I had to do most of the research and networking independently to find opportunities related to my program. There are some relevant internships available, especially in business, IT, and digital marketing sectors, but students in specialised fields like pharmaceutical sciences or clinical research might struggle to find directly aligned roles unless they proactively search beyond the college's network.
That said, Ireland has a growing job market, and with persistence, it’s possible to find meaningful work experience. Griffith does try to support students, but could strengthen its connections with industry partners and offer more structured internship pathways. This would greatly enhance the practical learning experience and better align with the academic programs offered.

Tips: Always be prepared to work hard because student life will be stressful. You will need to manage lots of assignments and exams. I received a scholarship of 1500 euros. You can approach any of your lectures through your app called Moodle and Outlook, which is very helpful. Most of the classes use real-time examples which give exposure to the current market and industry-level experience. You get lectures from different nationalities and countries. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with my college, which offers great opportunities to explore.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As an Indian, I find many options to eat, but I prefer to cook at home, which gives me the exact taste of our food. I prefer to go to Indian restaurants like Hyderabad Kitchen, Indian Tiffin, and many more, but you mostly find Pakistani and Bangladeshi restaurants.

Griffith College has strong academics and highly knowledgeable faculty.
Tips: There's not much of a cultural shift here. You'll find it very similar to your home country. I got 1,000 euros of scholarship money. As a full-time Master's student, I need to pay attention in class and do well academically. I also make sure that I'm meeting the attendance requirements, which are very important. Because of all of this, I'll probably be at college most days of the week. Fortunately, there are a lot of fun events to attend on campus, like movie parties and Halloween celebrations. There is also a student union that will help us to adjust. I'm completely satisfied with the country more than my college, as it feels like home and provides a lot of comfort and support.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation here is truly great. There's a bus every minute, and a train every ten minutes, which allows you to travel anywhere around the city. There's the Luas and the busses. Travel will run you about one Euro per hour, which is affordable and convenient.

Tips: I received a scholarship for 1500 euros, which is very common. Most students receive scholarships of 1000 to 1500 euros. I think it’s completely justified, the amount we are paying is affordable if we compare it to other countries, and the academics and studies are the best. Every lecture is very supportive and the teachers will help with all academic needs. I am very happy with my choice of courses, which offer a plethora of opportunities. Naturally, there will be some culture shock, but for us, it's exciting to try something new.
Dislikes (Student Life): I spend most of my free time with my friends in our weekly classes at Griffith College. Everyone else is busy with part-time jobs or other stuff. So if we get some time off, we all meet up at college. There are always lots of things happening at college, often organized by Griffith's Student Union.

Tips: Before joining, research campus life, course curriculum, and location. I transition smoothly, adapting to diverse cultures. No cultural shock, but I did learn to be independent. I availed a merit-based scholarship, receiving 20% tuition fee waiver. It took time to get used to, but I enjoy it now. My day is usually spent with a combination of classes, self-study, and extracurricular activities. I enjoy campus events, such as cultural fests, as well as seminars. There are a variety of clubs here, such as debate, sports, etc. I only participate occasionally, though, as I have to balance academic activities with my interests. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the university, course, and country.
Likes (Indian Food): I prefer to cook my own meals. However, sometimes eating out is okay, although otherwise it is hard for students from outside. Some restaurants give offers for students. Indian restaurants tend to be located mainly in the city center, and, according to prices, it's a bit difficult for students there.

Griffith College is good for academics and job opportunities
Tips: College is good for academic and job opportunities, but adjusting can be tough. The culture, teaching style, and lifestyle are different, and groceries are expensive, making it tough for international students. There are good opportunities for part-time work, though. Some aspects, such as meeting new friends from diverse backgrounds, have been quite enjoyable. Yet, other aspects, like having to attend classes online and in person in the afternoon, have been stressful and boring. Also, I don't like that some days I have to go to college for just two hours. Nonetheless, my favorite parts of being at this college are the freedom and the fun moments I have with my friends. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): I would love to settle here because there is a work-life balance in this country. They have good job prospects and quality of life compared to other places. For good career growth, a comfortable lifestyle and a better future, this country is good to settle. I would consider settling here if everything aligns well.

Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is really good in Dublin, especially around the city centers. They have good connections to all of the colleges, and each college has its own bus stop and Luas stop. Colleges provide information to help students with public transportation, such as route planning and how to apply for a Leap Card.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): As of now, there's very little scope for settlement options, because the job market isn't good at all. Even if we get a job, the companies don't sponsor the visa. Many jobs are removed from the critical skills list, which makes it really tough to get stamp 1.

Plus, the exams make you a studious, responsible student. The lecturers are very supportive of your academics and are very experienced professionals. You can reach the college's management anytime they are available. Overall, I am completely satisfied with my college and the people of this country are so friendly.
Dislikes (Part time work): After a lot of job hunting, I finally got a part-time job after 6 months. Finding a job can be hard, but if you have references, it's much easier. It's important to start your job search as early as possible, like from the first day. Make sure you give your resume to every college you can.

Tips: In my opinion, before joining any college, students should learn about the school's background, the courses it offers, the course modules and the facilities. They should also check out the campus, the sports activities and events it offers, and any other activities available. Of course, you should also find out how much the courses you're interested in cost. The tuition is valid for this course because my course is Big Data Management and Analytics, so it's a very difficult course, and Griffith College provides this course. Euros will be converted to Indian rupees, which is big money from the India side, but it feels nominal for international students.
Likes (Indian Food): There are so many options for Indian cuisine in Dublin. There are many Indian restaurants, street food vendors, and Indian grocery stores. You can find just about any kind of vegetable, street food, dairy product, and other kitchen ingredients you might want. Best of all, many of these options are affordable. I really love all the food options I have here in Dublin.
