MSc in Artificial Intelligence - Batch of 2024

Good experience and opportunity. Best to prepare early on.
Tips: Please do research on job and settlement if you intend to come and study in hope of doing so. It's best to be prepared early on, or you can figure out if this works for you or not. Best to ask an alumnus for their insights and advice. Also look up the modules' basics and prerequisite knowledge, as they did not teach from the basics.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The whole UK immigration setup right now is just a total mess. I’ve been out here hunting for a permanent job for over a year and it’s exhausting. Honestly, if you're planning to come study here, try to get some proper work experience back home first. It makes a huge difference. When you land, you basically have to obsess over networking, spam every single job board, and literally take unpaid work just for a foot in the door. It gets incredibly draining, but I'm trying to stay positive. I have been super close to landing a couple of actual offers lately which is the only thing keeping me going. Still want to settle down here long-term so I’m just going to keep at it and see what happens.

Personality development, Better lifestyle, Practical knowledge
Tips: It's better to be in a university in any countryside for better university life rather than staying in London. Post graduation, you can settle in London. You will enjoy it a lot if you are an extrovert and want to enjoy things; then it's fun. Otherwise, people who don't talk, who don't want to go out, and who don't explore—then it's a waste of money.
Likes (Student Life): The University of Kent was a fun university with a very big campus. Good people, good atmosphere. I was a student ambassador in my university and did participate in lots of events. I was also a member of the dance team, so it was definitely fun. At night also you will find people in the library.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Getting a sponsored job in the UK nowadays is very tough due to new visa rules. To get a PR or ILR is very difficult, not like before. If you are very experienced, then there is probability. If I had a chance, I would love to stay there for a long time but not settle.

4.3
University of Kent - The experience of a lifetime.
Tips: There are small cultural things that you learn as time goes but students and the staff at the university are very accommodating. I did not avail any scholarships but there are scholarships available and you can get more information about them on the website.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fee is justified. Also, the cost of living in the city where the university is located is much less compared to London. There are a lot of accommodation options available in the town which are cheaper than the University accommodation. Good and reasonable food options also available in town and on campus.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time jobs available at bars and restaurants on campus and in town but not many part time opportunities in the finance side. Managing your jobs and academics depends on the course you have chosen. It is usually manageable with the academics for Bachelor's courses.

Good course, supportive faculty, and helpful scholarship.
Tips: Students should know that the study style here is very independent, so managing their own time is important. I did feel a cultural shift at first but I adapted to the interactive way of learning. I also got a scholarship, which helps with my tuition fees. I'm satisfied with my university, course and life in the UK though the living costs and weather can be challenging.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The professors are really approachable and helpful. You can easily reach out by email or after class and they genuinely take time to guide you. The teaching style is not just theory; there is a good mix of case studies, group projects and real-world examples, which makes the subject more practical and interesting. They push you to think critically instead of just memorising. The faculty is also very diverse in terms of nationality, so you get to hear perspectives from different countries and industries, which adds a lot of value to the course.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK has pathways they are not very straightforward. The process is long expensive and immigration rules often change, which makes it harder to plan. Compared to countries like Canada or Australia. The settlement route here feels less predictable and less student-friendly. If I had to rate my own chances I would say they are moderate. It truly depends on securing a scale job with visa sponsorship after graduation. If that works out, then staying long-term and eventually applying for settlement as soon as possible but it's not guaranteed. A lot comes down to the kind of role you get the employer's willingness to sponsor and meeting the continuous stay requirements. Given the chance I would consider permanently immigrating to the UK if I could build a successful career and life here. The quality of life healthcare and international exposure are definitely attractive at the same time. I also stay open to opportunities in other countries where the immigration and settlement process is clearer and more attractive.

Insider's Perspective: A comprehensive course work with best professors.
Tips: The university is based in a small town, which is relatively quiet and slow, especially during the winter. Ideally, you join activity-oriented or cultural societies or clubs from the very beginning to have a decent social circle. Overall, I was satisfied with my course, adequate challenges to upskill my knowledge and mentored by some of the best professors.
Likes (Part time work): Part-time work is easier to find off campus than on campus. The hourly pay ranges from GBP 8-11/ hour. Managing part-time work with academics can be exhausting, however, if planned well, it can be managed. I would recommend familiarizing yourself with the academic expectations of your course before seeking part-time opportunities, to realistically evaluate how much time you can dedicate outside of your studies.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fee for this course is relatively lower at the University of Kent compared to many other universities. The course is holistic and provides significant industry exposure which justifies the tuition fee. The most interesting parts of my degree include interacting with actual companies and understanding their people-function roles, also contributing to them through projects assigned as a part of training in the modules.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Batch of 2024

Triple crown accredited. Worth choosing! Hectic MBA program.
Tips: The staff and people in the university are very welcoming and kind! So far, it's been a great experience. The programme is very hectic and involves 9-5 classes every alternative week. The off week will be intense with assignments and other work. Working part-time with this programme is very challenging so better to avoid depending on part-time income. The course is very theoretical, it's up to you to learn new skills relevant to current market trends. I have received an MBA women in leadership scholarship from the university worth 25% of the tuition fee waiver. The university has many other scholarships for postgrads. It's a decent university to study in.
Likes (Safety): So far it's been the safest place. I live on campus and we go for a walk even at night anytime for instance at 3 AM and it is still safe. The campus has their own safe zone app for emergencies. It's pretty handy and easy to reach out for help. We go to the city at night, it's not crowded and calm most of the time yet I feel safe here. People are sweet and greet each other.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are very few options in vegetarian. Usually in any cafes, it's the same veg sandwich, mashed potato or wrap. No varieties on campus for Indian dishes in cafes or restaurants. Most restaurants serve British food with salad, sandwiches, burgers and plain food.

Look out for scholarships.
Tips: I'm very satisfied with my experience at the University of Kent. It was one of the best times I ever had. Brilliant food, transportation, classes, faculty and university help. It was great, I would do it again.
There are beautiful beaches nearby, such as Whitstable, Botany Bay, etc.
As for scholarships, there are a few that the University gives away to students. One can reach out to the university to know more about it.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation was smooth as the campus to city route had buses coming in every 5 minutes. Or if you're feeling very spontaneous or active, a walk would take merely 20 minutes downhill. You can see the beautiful Cathedral from the campus top. The buses were quite affordable as they cost half for students. So, it was great.
Dislikes (Internships): In terms of guidance it is great but the availability of internships relevant to my field of study was less to none. So, it was very difficult for me to get one.
I would have given it a total of 5 stars if the university had options in terms of internships relevant to my degree.

Easy going college for masters students but the tuition fees are way too much.
Tips: There was a cultural shift. Students here don't like outsiders much. They tend to pick on people of another ethnicity. I don't have any scholarships as such, but I did apply for them. I am satisfied with Ireland's culture, but the university is a bit unsatisfying for me since the master's course doesn't really provide much of a classroom experience. It is just assignments and stuff that were paying so much for it.
Likes (Safety): The campus is really good and has excellent safety options. There are lots of options for undergraduate students, but not much for Master's non-EU students planning their futures. The university’s services are also good. However, some courses need more classes and teaching.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees are way too much, and they don't include enough content for the price. Also, the additional expenses we carry are expensive. The tuition fees should not include tax for international students because it would be much more affordable for them if it did not. It is also hard to find part-time work, which makes managing expenses difficult.

The faculty are highly qualified and we have an amazing student life.
Tips: Everything is easy when you're working on it. You should be ready to face any challenges. Should adopt the mindset of working hard. If you have any work experience, you will get a job more quickly than a fresher. I'm satisfied with my study life and working life. I'm doing great at both. We have good opportunities in my course if you have previous experience, and this country and its people are very warm and respectful.
Likes (Part time work): We can enjoy our student life. In our class, there are also cultural fests where you can have fun. You can also balance your study life and your work life. One more important thing is you need to work more on your assignments for a good score. When you start planning to study abroad, make sure you are ready for any challenges.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Well, my classes are in the evenings and they are two hours long. My faculty are very talented and have in-depth knowledge of the subjects. They guide us with our assignments and suggest techniques to help us complete them and get good grades. The faculty guides are qualified people who have worked at great universities in different regions.
