Limerick is one of the safest cities in Ireland.
Tips: It's a great university. One thing I would want to let students know is that it has many clubs/societies for students, like the International Society, the Consulting club, Enactus, Economics society, so do actively participate in these as it would hone your soft skills.
Likes (Safety): Limerick is one of the safest cities in Ireland though it is in the countryside. Apart from campus security, the locals here are too kind and would always hold the door for you and smile, greet you while walking, totally opposite of what is being shown on Instagram.
Dislikes (Part time work): I am personally actively looking for on campus part time work, which I can showcase on my resume, such as an RA, Educational tutor, etc. Whose opportunities I found minimal; However, if you are looking for work at retail outlets, there are many.

Student friendly college.
Tips: Accommodation and transport facilities are good when you are staying off campus. People are very friendly and the lecturers are very nice and understanding. Very liberal and friendly faculty. Students are also very supportive. College has post graduate students union which organise parties.
Likes (Safety): I think it's safe because no one will attack us. I did not have any experience with such bad conditions. There are houses nearby, streetlight and people on the road are very helping mentality people. They care about us and are not discriminating towards us.
Dislikes (Public transportation): There are not enough buses from our village to the college. Buses are less. We have to wait a lot. If the class is at 10 am, we should take the bus of 8 am bus and just simply sit in college for 1.30 hours and also after 6 pm, then the last bus is 9.00 pm so this is the issue with transportation.

Positive student life but uncertain future.
Tips: Thoroughly enquire about the courses and their outcome before blindly choosing the programme. Not all programs are great up to the expectations. Visa policies and part time opportunities often pose a problem for students when they arrive here. Utilise the time to do research on these fundamentals of existence here. Education and earning are both important, do not compromise on either.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Professors are highly competent and knowledgeable and friendly to approach. They have a high value of respect for humility and gratitude. Some professors are helping students to understand the concepts very clearly despite teaching hours and class schedules.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Lack of opportunities in relevant field makes it vulnerable to sustaining a permanent settlement option. Prt time opportunities are there but its not student friendly at times forcing students to not focus on academic obligations including exams and assignments. These part time work opportunities doesn't guarantee a long term settlement option providing a visa status or permanency in the field of study.

Great student life and a diverse environment.
Tips: Research your course and make sure your education and work experience prepare you to make the most out of the platform you have as a master's level student in a different country. The faculty and facility are world class. It really comes down to how you capitalise on the opportunities. Don't expect anyone to spoon-feed you.
Likes (Student Life): There's always a lot of extra curricular activities, social events and overall a very welcoming environment for international students. I personally made the most of this as a student ambassador. I attended socio-cultural events, made a video, took photos, and did volunteer work. This has been a valuable life experience, and I also won a gold medal with the student ambassador programme.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): You are pretty much left to your own for networking and connections to find a job. There's no formal job placement. There is however internship placement, which can be limited in options. There are some amazing lecturers who can help you get better leads for jobs through their contacts but there's no formal process for placement.

Good campus and friendly people. Try not to get in trouble with others.
Tips: Make sure you are related to sports in any way and always check mail. Make sure to know how to read and analyse journals and articles. Know how to use SPSS software and have a minimum computer knowledge. Try to use every opportunity you have and you will also get several free services in different areas.
Likes (Safety): There are some isolated events, other than that, all good. It is safe but don't go and make a show in front of other Irish people and don't seek unnecessary trouble. Mind our own business and live. Don't go and help people whom you don't know and make sure not to make noise about others' problems.
Dislikes (Internships): We have to find the internship ourselves and the faculty will not give us that much help. The faculty members in internship programs always prefer people with a sports background or people who play sports in Ireland.

A good learning platform with support and opportunities.
Tips: There is a cultural shift after coming here. The lifestyle food and the way people interact are completely different compared to back in our country so it took some time to adjust. But gradually I got used to it. I did receive a scholarship when I started my course. It was for my annual fee and I got about 2,000 euros. I received it when I applied for the course itself so the process was quite simple.
Likes (Safety): Apart from campus security the safety here is very high and students are generally well protected. Even though there may be a few areas in the country where trouble can occur, it is still much safer compared to many other countries. Outside the university I also feel safe in my apartments because of the strong security system provided there. One of the best experiences I've had is being able to travel anywhere at night without feeling scared, which gives me a real sense of comfort and freedom.
Dislikes (Indian Food): In this locality, most of the restaurants are connected to the country's own food culture, with plenty of Irish and Western-style options available. Indian restaurants are quite rare here, and since I am from Kerala, it's difficult to find the kind of food and spices I'm used to. The taste is usually very different from what we get back home. Because of this, I prefer cooking for myself rather than eating outside.

A good place, a wonderful campus and some friendly staffs.
Tips: I have learned to expect the worst. The teachers are friendly, but not entirely genuine. I didn't receive any scholarships. I am satisfied with the university, but not with the curriculum. They don't provide a proper introduction to the course instead, we are expected to learn everything from scratch on our own, without the necessary guidance or structured support.
Likes (Public transportation): You get transportation every now and then. Every half an hour there are buses to most routes. The only problem is the rain. If there is rain, then there are chances of buses getting cancelled. But you have good buses here compared to Dublin and also the rates for students are also less in Limerick.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): If given a chance, I would love to. But in the city where I stay, the people are not that friendly and supportive to indians. Also the options of even getting a part time job itself are hard to find. People wish to hire only if they need us that urgently, or else they just collect our CVs and don't even contact back.

Good university and good country.
Tips: There is a huge weather shift that students will face. University is good but very less part time so if you are coming considering that part time will help you with your monthly expenses, please have a backup amount, as so many people from my batch did not get the part times. Make sure that you don't bring so much spices or food items, you will get everything here in the Indian store so better to save your space.
Likes (Public transportation): Good transportation. Bus frequency to city from university is very good. Few areas have less frequent buses but if you are fine living off campus you can take e-scooters. It's always better to stay on campus. It is very safe, a little expensive but very safe.
Dislikes (Internships): There are no internships provided. There will be emails that the university will send about the jobs, but nothing helps. Mostly jobs will be available on Indeed. Maximum jobs will come out during the Christmas season, but that too seasonal based. Once the season is off, you will be off duty.

Highly reputed college with very qualified faculty. Gives importance to practical implementations.
Tips: I received a 20% scholarship on tuition fees based on my Bachelor's academic results. I felt the university was far better than expected, and it was satisfying to begin my course here. The faculty members are understanding and do not put unnecessary pressure on students. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Safety): Limerick felt peaceful and safe as it has a smaller population compared to some big cities like Dublin. Students can work part-time, explore Ireland and have a good experience while studying all without any extra stress. Students can socialise with different students who come from all around the world.
Dislikes (Internships): There are many internship opportunities available for undergrad students compared to postgrad students. We can apply, and it depends on the role or field for which the students are applying for internships. But you won't get enough time for internships, as it's a one-year programme for a Master's in which we have our dissertation as well.

Bachelor of Business Studies - Batch of 2026

On-campus part-time jobs are highly competitive.
Tips: I believe the Irish culture can be a bit surprising at first, especially regarding how people behave and communicate. However, it's very easy to adapt, as Irish people are generally friendly. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship for three consecutive years. The first year was awarded for scoring over 85% in my CBSE exams in the 12th grade, and for the following two years, I had to maintain my scholarship by keeping my QCA above 3 out of 4. The scholarship was worth 8,000 euros annually. The university is very welcoming, but it can feel overwhelming due to its size. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved through clubs and societies. The course emphasises self-study, which is a great way to learn and understand the lectures.
Likes (Internships): If you are pursuing a Bachelor's degree here, you are required to complete an 8-month co-op internship during your 2nd or 3rd year, which is part of the curriculum. The university will distribute your CV, and you'll be interviewed until you're successful. These internships are usually relevant to your degree, the working conditions are excellent, and most are paid.
Dislikes (Part time work): Here, on-campus part-time jobs are highly competitive; however, there are many volunteering opportunities that provide vouchers for various stores. Off-campus jobs are relatively easier to find, but the work hours can be challenging for full-time students.

It is really a beautiful college with greenery, rivers, and many sports grounds and stadiums.
Tips: I feel it's really worth coming here as an international student; it's been a nice experience meeting students from different countries. I received a 2000 euros scholarship as a discount on my total tuition fee when I received the offer letter. The welcoming nature and high quality of life are also great.
Likes (Post study jobs): Many companies here offer sponsorship visas, and based on my conversations with working professionals, there are thriving job opportunities, especially in sectors such as pharmaceuticals and finance. The presence of numerous multinational companies and startups creates a dynamic employment landscape.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I believe the country offers a clear and structured pathway for skilled professionals to transition from temporary to permanent residence. The Ireland critical skills visas, particularly the Stamp 4 visa options, are attractive to international graduates with in-demand qualifications.

Tips: Students need to be well prepared. I received a scholarship. Fun loving, high-potential university.
Tips: The campus is great, the university is amazing, and there are a lot of extra-curricular activities. Professors are very open to helping students find part-time work. Off-campus living isn't bad. You save some money, but on-campus living is safer and more comfortable. However, you should have at least two years of experience to attend any Irish college. Ireland is still a bit of a mystery, or at least an unclear picture for me, because if I compare it with other countries, sometimes I pay double or triple for the cost of food and rent, etc. Also, taxes are very high. The good news is you can get a visa in 5 years if you have critical skills. Mostly, IT and healthcare fall under this category.

A blend of learning and community.
Tips: There are a number of scholarship options available. Make sure to apply while making an application. The course M.Sc. in Business Analytics provides a great blend of academic professional guidance and self-learning. Be prepared to do a lot of research and most primarily if you are not very comfortable with English start to develop a basic understanding of accent. Rest assured, Ireland is a beautiful country and you will be amazed by the breathtaking landscape.
Likes (Safety): Limerick is quite good in terms of safety. Most people are well-behaved and ready to offer help in moments of need. University of Limerick is a huge campus and is situated at a well connected location through public transport. The campus provides a "First 7 weeks" programme to ensure quick access for the new students in the event of issues related to accommodation, etc.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Limerick has only a handful of options for Indian cuisine, and for vegetarians, the choices are even more limited. However, the good news is that the scene is gradually improving. Since I moved here in 2022, two new Indian restaurants have opened, offering more varieties and flavors to explore.

University of Limerick : The heart of Ireland's academic scene.
Tips: It took some time for me to adjust according to the weather as it's cold and dry most of the time. I observed many friends complaining about less vegetarian options available, but it didn't bother me as I mostly consume non-veg. People here are polite and would help if asked for. I got approved for a scholarship offered by the university, it was around 1500 euros. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course, university and country as it offers security, quality and options to excel forward.
Likes (Safety): The campus is the safest place because it has UL security and emergency points located throughout. The city area is safe and I have not faced any security concerns to date. Just be careful if you are new to that particular area before travelling late at night.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a number of Indian restaurants, including Aura, Swaad, and Bamboo, in the area, but you'll probably end up doing a fair bit of cooking on your own if you're on a budget. Eating out every day can get pretty expensive. I found a nice balance between the two, though. There are some good options for stocking up on groceries, too. Aldi, Tesco, and Lidl are all good options that should take care of most of your needs.

Good university experience if you are financially stable.
Tips: This is my first time experiencing solitude in my whole life. It helps me learn a lot of things in life, like how to live alone. Ireland's culture is so calm and peaceful. Campus will have restricted access to important places, and meeting rooms will need your student ID card to access. Security is available to protect you at all times, and it's fully monitored 24/7. I have not faced any security issues in Limerick, and I've had many late nights out. I got a standard scholarship for 1,500 euros when I was admitted. Overall, I'm satisfied with the course, university and the country.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are opportunities for on-campus part-time jobs, such as working as a teaching assistant or a guide during events. However, opportunities are limited to short-term positions. Off-campus options are also limited. Depending on the students' academic schedule, some may only have time for a couple of days of work per week. All legal jobs require payment according to government regulations, so if you do have a registered job, you can expect to earn at least 12 euros per hour. The University is in Limerick County, which has a smaller population than most other countries, so there are limited options to pick from when it comes to off-campus part-time employment opportunities.

Beautiful country with lots of attractive and peaceful places.
Tips: I have met people of diverse cultures and it is always fun having to interact with them. The college has career fairs, but they are very few in number. It provides some jobs, but you’ll need to apply for them online through Indeed. The job demand for computer science is low, but there’s high demand for finance, law, nursing, and civil engineering, with especially many opportunities for nurses in Ireland. I got a 2500-euro scholarship, but tuition is still quite high. And I don't suggest this course, since it's too popular. That said, I'm happy with the university and the country.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation here is public and there are buses from different companies available. The buses are very safe and they provide good amenities, like seating, charging ports, and cameras focused on safety. The fare is affordable, which is a nice bonus.

A friendly knowledge gaining university.
Tips: Before you enter the college, be aware of the courses, the available job opportunities for those courses, the available scholarships, and the part-time job possibilities. You’ll also need to check your accommodation availability before you enter. Once you’re here, make sure you mingle with the local people and be aware that religious culture may be different here. Post-study job searching takes quite a bit of work, and your chances are heavily dependent on your skillset. I know that most of the available jobs are for undergrad roles, and salaries start at 30,000 Euros/year with potential for raises. The jobs are mostly for software, but from what I've learned, there's a good job market for civil engineering as well. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at this university are very good and very friendly. The teaching process is very effective, like practicing in class. We can access the library both offline and online, and can avail the course materials from an app. The university provides useful equipment free of charge. Overall, the experience has been good.

Purdue has an amazing alumni network and is academically oriented.
Tips: It is initially difficult to move to a different country, and that takes time. However, with time, the university grows in you. Purdue has an amazing alumni network, so it's easy to find someone in most settings to turn to for help. It's extremely academically oriented and that's great.
Likes (Public transportation): The buses on campus are free. It is available every 30 minutes or less, mostly. The transportation between 8 AM to 10 PM is easily taken care of by the city bus system. Post that, students tend to resort to cabs. However, most establishments close at that time so it doesn’t really affect us too much.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I personally would like to learn here and come back to India to work at some point in the future. But this depends less on the university and more on the job market and the current situation in the country. However, Purdue does have a good alumni network in most companies.

Purdue has very good ranking and esteem, especially there Ms-Cs program.
Tips: One thing is to get a TA/RA/GA opportunity, as those are very few for new joiners. Start emailing professors and all departments, especially life sciences, for an RA, as soon as you confirm your admission, for the potential availability of positions. One good thing about CS students is that they can work at any department as software requirements are everywhere. These opportunities (TA/RA/GA) come with a fee-waiver and give a good salary every month! Purdue gets good funding. Also, if you see that you are not getting any assistantships, then you can apply for other hourly-paying on campus jobs on Purdue's career page, but these don't have a fee waiver. Purdue's MS-CS course can be very stressful if you don't select the courses wisely. At least in the 1st semester, do not go for difficult courses as we are mostly setting down. Don't just take a difficult course to try things. We want to get internships in the 1st year and a job in the 2nd year. That is why, don't overload yourself, as you might spend time doing on-campus jobs, home chores, etc. Buy second-hand stuff such as a table/chair/ other furniture from Purdue Surplus or join housing groups. People moving out give their stuff for free many times.
Likes (Safety): The area around Purdue (West Lafayette) is very safe. I have come home at 10-11 pm with public transport. The city buses are quite reliable and run after hours, at which the one I take (4B). There are emergency poles around the campus, where there seems to be a button to press in case of emergencies. Also, I see police vans standing around the campus as well.
Dislikes (Student Life): There are some good things that go on at campus, but graduate students are given too many loads that they cannot really enjoy the other things happening around. At least I can say that about MS-CS students. There are Indian communities on campus, who arrange good events and we enjoy those twice or thrice a year.

It is a great Engineering University with lots of resources and opportunities.
Tips: It is a top Engineering school with a lot of resources available for everything. It has fast flexibility in coursework and a good policy for internships, so look out for internship opportunities. There are funding opportunities, but they might be restricted in some departments. It is a good college town where everything is built for and around Purdue.

Purdue Masters - Worth the money and your time
Tips: It’s going to be very competitive. Students should be prepared for that. Not much cultural shift as there are a lot of Indians here. The syllabus is advanced, we can learn a lot here. A lot of companies hire exclusively from Purdue, but currently, the job market is down for everybody.

Really good public university, you get to learn a lot!
Tips: Purdue provides fee waiver for research assistant and teaching assistant position in MSCS. This is a really good opportunity for graduate and Ph.D. students. All the seems that we work as a TA/RA fee would be waived. I feel being a TA by teaching and assisting undergrad students during labs and office hours was a great experience.

A place to grow in your career.
Tips: If you are here, make sure you enjoy as much as you can. You will need funding for this course so start applying for loans etc as soon as possible, because by the time you come to campus, it might be too late. You can also find some on campus jobs as part-time work so do not restrict yourself, there is nothing wrong in doing part-time job.

A great place to study and propel your career
Tips: Though best known for its engineering programs, Purdue University offers a wide range of other courses to choose from which are equally good. The faculty here is world class. People in Indiana are nice and overall it's a homely vibe. Winters do get really cold though.
Likes (Public transportation): Fairly well connected by the city's public bus transportation system. Their app is also nice which gives real-time update on the location and schedule of the buses. Purdue students can ride free by showing their university ID card. Uber and Lyft are also available.
Dislikes (Student Life): Purdue University is in West Lafayette which is a small student town in Northern Indiana. Being a small town, the options for students to hang out becomes limited to only a few good places. Being said that though the places which are here are not at all bad just that more options would have been nicer.

Purdue university offers great faculty for engineering.
Tips: The college and the town West Lafayette is quite student-friendly. You will have the time of your life here. Transportation is free completely for students and you keep getting freebies in college. The quality of education is unmatched. Professors are quite approachable. Surely value for money.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Student life is amazing here because of the tight-knit cohort. It is a small cohort, that is why everybody is connected and shares a good bond. There are several activities to do and sports to play. There are several events in college going on all the time.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Faculty are very knowledgeable. They teach very well and quality education is received. They have a good grip on courses and are experts in their field. There are many Indian professors in Business school, Krannert school of management. They are approachable.

Very fulfilling experience.
Tips: I've come to really enjoy college life more than I anticipated. The professors are excellent but busy, so attend their office hours if you're struggling, or you'll fall behind. People are polite but also private, so respect that, and you'll be fine. Pack some essentials from home, like spices or specific cravings that you might not find here. My multi-purpose kettle has been very useful. The coursework is demanding from day one.
Dislikes (Value for money): Purdue is a relatively expensive school for the average student, but it's worthwhile with financial aid and scholarships. Considering the quality of education and professors, tuition is decent, but living costs can add up.

Interesting and an insightful experience
Tips: Be flexible in your approach before you commit to studying full time. You will have to be self reliant and equipped in terms of taking care and ensuring that you spend adequate time on campus as well. This will be helpful in being a part of the community.
