A very diverse university with ample amount of opportunities and great people.
Tips: The transition was quite smooth, you have to make sure to find the right friends because that will either make or break your university experience. I received an entrance scholarship based on my high school marks and there are a few scholarships for continuing students too. I'm pretty satisfied with the university, course and the country so far.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): There is a high chance for me to get a PR if I choose to stay in the same province that I am currently in. But that's not what I plan on doing as the opportunities for jobs and positions are not exactly what I want. I would love to stay in this country but only if I could find the job titles or a business which excites me.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Full- time jobs in the Tech field are not much as it is a smaller city. All of the companies that offer you a full-time job sponsor visas. Even if you don't get a full-time job right after graduation, I've seen people apply for PR while working in a retail position. Job roles and salary packages are subjective and depend on various factors like Experience and Skillset.

Value for money and academically oriented.
Tips: I am very satisfied with the university, the facilities and everything are top-notch, they frequently have internships and coop sessions with employers like Irving, RBC etc. Throughout the year, so in terms of that university is good. It's a bit more academically oriented, so studies and course loads could be a bit stressful, please apply for scholarships, the deadline is April end, they give around 1000 CAD to almost every student, so you can save.
Likes (Part time work): Options for on-campus jobs are really limited and are very competitive, but off-campus jobs are relatively easier to find. You just have to grind your way through, the first week after you land here is the most the toughest for you because you are still learning and getting to know about the city, but you have to keep applying online along with doing walk-ins in the stores for jobs.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Food options are really limited if you are from India, there's only 2-3 indian restaurants in the whole city, and are very expensive. We also have tiffin services in the city but they are expensive too, students just tend to cook on their own, so be prepared, learn cooking before you come here, it's a basic survival skill.

Feels like home. Very calm and peaceful
Tips: Super chill and easygoing. Do not get academic misconduct. Satisfied with the course. Not very technical but it's good. Faculty members are understanding and internship placements are good as well. Post-degree job prospects are good too. Tons of immigration options.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): A lot of immigrantion programs in Atlantic canada. Close to 100% success rates. Does not take a long time to get settled here. Great country, peace of mind and quality lifestyle are witnessed. A bit expensive and harsh on the climate but it is manageable provided you have a decent job and can get acclimatized to the cold weather.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Less Indian restaurants but there are plenty of grocery items available. Lots of Indian snacks, frozen dinners etc. are available and giants like Walmart, Atlantic super store, Sobeys etc. No need to pack up a lot of Indian food while coming here. Learn to cook basic food. May be problematic for vegetarians. Food is expensive so budget according.

it is very peculiar despite being a good university.
Tips: The first year here is a culling game, as it is a sink-or-swim situation. If you pass the first year, you should be alright for the rest, as long as you maintain and keep working on your self-discipline. Attend help sessions and make study groups to avoid burnout and try engaging with different other activities or clubs.

In Germany, there are no tuition fees for public universities.
Tips: There are a lot of Indian students here, so after coming here, I made a lot of new friends. All of them were so kind to me. So, my transition period was very smooth. Some cultural shifts happen on campus. I try to join in if I am free that day. I haven't gotten any scholarships yet. I'm hoping to get an RA position next winter semester. I am fully satisfied with my university. My course of study is Environment and Resource Management, and it is really interesting. Germany is also a beautiful country, and I think you would like it too.
Likes (Value for money): In Germany, there are no tuition fees for public universities, so you don't have to pay anything. At BTU, you may have to pay 340 euros per semester, but you also get a semester ticket that is valid for whole Germany! So, it's truly value for money.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-campus jobs aren’t that available, only if you're an RA. You have to rely on off-campus jobs only, which are very hard to find now. If you don’t know German well, then it will be a huge problem to find a job. If you do a part-time job, then it’s really manageable to perform academic tasks simultaneously. You have to choose your course wisely so that you can balance your job and study. The average payout for part-time jobs is 12.82 euros per hour now, the lowest salary you can get. Though many companies or restaurants pay more than this, this amount is the minimum wage they have to give.

Flexible course, small classes, low living cost and affordable city.
Tips: The M.Sc. in AI at BTU Cottbus is flexible and research-focused. The students have to be self-driven because they are expected to manage their own learning. The course is taught in English, knowing basic German will help in daily life. Small cases, low living costs and an affordable city.
Likes (Safety): The city I live in is totally safe because it's not too big and not too small. You have the police force everywhere for your protection. Best of all, I've never heard of any criminal cases since I've been living here. This city is really safe.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a lot of restaurants in the city, but I don't like the food here. It's made according to German tastes, less spicy and less salty, and that’s why I don't like it, but many students still eat there. But here in Cottbus, there are five or six Indian restaurants where you can eat your favourite food, and the cost is also cheap.

Perfect work-life balance.
Tips: Make sure to find accommodation before arriving at BTU Cottbus, or you might face a long, stressful city registration and housing search. Finding some part-time work won't be too difficult, and since there are no tuition fees, your finances will be much easier to manage. Make sure you focus on academics and don't neglect your German language classes. With a Deutschland ticket, the transportation is free for the entire semester. It costs you around 298€ for the entire semester, and you can avail yourself to travel in any means of transportation all over Germany except ICE trains. City and regional transportation are included.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I need to cook by myself rather than eating outside because of the pricing. If you stay in a group, your monthly food expenses can drop to 150 or maybe even less. There are a few Indian restaurants, but you'll probably find them expensive. I would suggest learning how to cook before you come.

BTU has more research oriented approach in their teaching.
Tips: There is a significant cultural difference between my country and Germany. Language is a barrier here. There is a communication difference. Other than that, everything is good. Most of my professors are all experienced. Not only are they experienced at teaching, but they also have practical experience in my chosen industry.
Dislikes (Indian Food): It’s difficult being a vegetarian in Berlin. I’ve tried some restaurants, but they are quite expensive. Also, the few Indian food stores I found have a limited selection of veggies from India, so it’s not very exciting for me.

Extremely research-oriented and well diverse.
Tips: The education at the Brandenburg University of Technology is superb, so don't worry about that, but I would advise you to have at least a B1 proficiency in German before you move to Germany. The university is very supportive, and they make sure you know how to cook because the food here is not meant for Indian tastes. Besides that, everything else is manageable. The faculty members here are extremely experienced in their field, and they work for big MNCS and do teaching out of passion. They are supportive and make sure you interact with them so that they remember your face. This will be really helpful when you are looking for internships because they have great connections. In Germany, the food is expensive and doesn’t usually have much flavour. So I’d suggest getting a grocery delivery service and cooking your own food if you’re from India. It’s hard to get spices here, and no one knows what Indian food is.

BTU Cottbus is international, affordable, and student-friendly.
Tips: BTU Cottbus is international, affordable, and student-friendly. The city is calm and safe, with low living costs and a supportive campus environment. Basic German helps with daily life and jobs. Plus, Berlin is just a short train ride away for big-city fun. BTU Cottbus has great food options - German, Mediterranean, sushi, and more. Bellessa serves bold South American flavor, Sebastian's is tasty & cheap, and the Mensa is super budget-friendly.

Satisfied, happy and content with the quality of academics.
Tips: I did not get any scholarships, but it’s good to be here. I’m doing AI, which is great. My university is primarily research-based, so internships are hard to come by, but the professors are good. Their teaching methods are strange and funny, but the course is a good experience.

Fulfilling academics and mixed culture.
Tips: Before joining, students should know the course structure, living cost, and language requirements. The cultural shift is noticeable but manageable. I also wasn't given a scholarship.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): The country offers a strong pathway for skilled professionals to settled permanent, with good quality of life and career opportunities. Given the chance, I would definitely like to immigrate permanent as I believe my qualifications and experience align well with the country's needs.
Dislikes (Part time work): While part-time work is available both on-campus, like library or research assistant and off-campus, like retail or warehouse jobs, German language skills greatly improve opportunities. Balancing work and studies is manageable with good time management, and the average pay ranges from 12–15 euros/hour.
