MSc Digital Media and Communication - Batch of 2023

Pretty average, would recommend only for finance.
Tips: Before joining the University of Stirling, I suggest knowing your course and checking for numerous scholarships. The location and amenities of the school are amazing, and the campus is large enough that it has plenty of various activities. I have met people who have turned into family. Unfortunately, there are some issues, such as racism that some staff members have, and they cancel classes for their protests, so I had to self-teach most of the course.
Likes (Student Life): The people and culture here are amazing. I met some absolutely crazy people who are now like family. There's always something happening on the weekends, and the library is great for late-night studying. The South Asian club organises tons of events, which is a great way to meet people from your own country.
Dislikes (Internships): This university is good in terms of its amenities, but it has no placements, gives little training for jobs and CV guidance, has mostly useless courses, and markets these courses to international students to make money. They also don't provide internships for my area of study.

Excellent faculty but fewer part-time jobs.
Tips: The transition after coming here was quite difficult as I was not familiar with the climate. The people were quite good and polite. As of now, everything is going well. Finally, the University is good for sports and the gym at the university is an advantage for us.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at this University are quite good at teaching and are experts in their field of subjects. Moreover, their experiences and knowledge of the subjects make it easy for students to understand the topic. The majority of faculty at this University are Scottish people. More than 95% of staff are from Scotland.
Dislikes (Part time work): The part-time jobs are fewer or I can say difficult to get one as it is a small city. The city doesn't even have the size of Mysore. The population in this city is also very low. Managing a part-time job and university education is quite challenging as we have classes four days a week. The tight timetable is also an issue to the part time job.

An experience of lifetime at the University of Stirling
Tips: The university provides around 4000 pounds scholarship to Indian students to support with the application. It was a wonderful experience being a part of the University and travelling to Scotland. Different culture, yet very accepting and welcoming apart from the sightseeing you can do a lot in Scotland.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty members are approachable and very well learned. You get to learn a lot from them if you keep yourself active. Teaching was a mix of theoretical and practical learning with real-life examples and workshops. Professors are from across the globe thus showing that University of Stirling is a diverse employer.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent settlement depends on individuals and if you get a job of choice. There are many students who prefer to come back to their home country after graduation. And those who prefer to stay either go for sponsorship from the companies or sponsor themselves for at least couple of years (Graduate Route Visa). I preferred to return back to India to be around my people.

Best study destination for international students
Tips: There is a bit problem with part time jobs in Stirling but with time you can find one. Otherwise, it's the best study destination for international students. Faculties are always ready to help. Personal tutors are assigned to each and every student so that one can have a buddy available every time for help.
Likes (Student Life): The atmosphere here at the university of Stirling is amazing. And all the relevant facilities are available around the campus. Personal tutors are assigned to each and every student so that one can have a buddy available to solve all the problems. The most important sports facilities are amazing here at Stirling.
Dislikes (Value for money): Until you don't have a job in the UK it's expensive to spend Indian money in pounds. Finding part-time jobs is quite difficult in starting but if you keep pushing it and have a clear vision you will get a job for sure. Don't hesitate in doing any work rather accept it as a challenge and overcome it.

Reputed college with good reviews
Tips: College is quite good but students who are really studious and keen to learn should opt for this university. As assignments provided are really of master's level and you will learn a lot if you are serious about your career.
Please book your hostel accommodation in advance.
Commutation from Stirling to Glasgow,
Stirling to Edinburgh is affordable and less time consuming.
Overall good college.

University of Stirling has a beautiful campus with all the facilities for sports and fitness.
Tips: The cultural shifts are quite ok and not a big deal. But the issue is managing the expenses and finding a part time job is really harder.
Moreover, the timetable at this university is little stressful. So, it will become harder again to get a part time job and lastly the attendance are important to successfully complete the masters.
Likes (Quality of faculty): All the faculties at the university are well qualified and have experience. Good learning experience as the teachers are good at teaching. Faculties at this university is really helpful in preparation of assignments and they guide you to prepare the assignments and conduct seminars.
Dislikes (Part time work): Getting a part time job opportunity in Stirling is difficult and also an on campus opportunity will be extremely difficult. It's a small city or you can say it's a village and the city depends on the university. Managing the part time job and student life is stressful. Even getting a part time job is a luck. It's not a big city to find more part time job opportunities. Working far away and traveling to the workplace is an another hurdle as it's expensive. Can't manage the expenses.

Great university to find your potential.
Tips: I have found the transition to university life much easier as I live with my parents. I was not eligible for any scholarships, but I am pretty satisfied with the course as most lecturers are always there to guide you. Also, some lecturers might not be good, but you have the academic mentors to clarify any academic doubts. The campus is close to central London and it is very well connected. You have multiple tube lines that are nearby, and you can also use the buses. It is pretty affordable, but it depends upon where you live as prices might differ based on zones, but you can avail discounts by using a student oyster card.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): It is harder for those on student visas to find a job, as companies are less willing to sponsor work visas because it is costly to do so. I am not sure about the job roles and salaries offered as I haven't graduated from university yet, but I will be graduating in 2025.

London Metropolitan University is an outstanding institute with knowledge deliverable.
Tips: It was not much difficult to adapt to the culture but there are some situations to accept. Especially culture, language, accent, and climate change which we have not experienced in our own country. Moreover, expense management, time management, part-time work, education and life balance gave me new experiences.
Likes (Student Life): In here, student life is much more convenient due to the diversity of students. Always there are more new things to learn and to be impressed with in the UK. As an international student, I reckon we should have those experiences within our university and outside of the university.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is not easy to search part time job in UK. As I experienced, it takes time to catch up with the job and adapt to it. Mainly with time management. Also, it is difficult to observe some options within relevant fields and mostly there are more barriers to having a job in the desired sector.

Exquisite, friendly and multi-cultural university.
Tips: Before commencement, all the students are required to attend a welcome. These are compulsory and will help you with campus and faculty introduction. Would also suggest incoming students be actively involved with student societies and events which help break barriers and meet and connect with new people.
Likes (Student Life): London Met's campus are located in the heart of the city and it's the world's most diverse and enigmatic city. Also once you are admitted you become a part of the student union which enriches your life here. Living here as a student is an incredible experience with so many fantastic attractions like world-renowned museums, galleries and libraries.
Dislikes (Value for money): It offers an international study experience study at the heart of London. Also, the acceptance rate is close to 80% so the chances of getting into the college are high. The feels is somewhere close to 12K pounds but with the help of financial aid and scholarships students can get financial help.
