Life in The Netherlands and Utrecht University
Tips: Coming to the Netherlands from India was an absolute shock in terms of culture and habits. I had to change daily things such as punctuality, communication habits, etc. I do not regret coming here at all. It's been an extremely rewarding experience with the friends I have made here and the community around me. The course I'm following at the university is a research-intensive course (like most of the Master's programs at the university), this requires a lot of time and energy to be put into both assignments and exams. There will be a lot of reading to do outside the class materials provided and a lot of justifications to be made for the answers. The professors are very knowledgeable and will help you if you ask for help (which is important that you do). Although it is very rigorous and time-consuming, you do get a deep understanding of the subject. There are some challenges I faced during my time here: The biggest one being housing. The Netherlands is facing a housing shortage, and prices are high while availability is low, so you need to start looking as soon as you decide to join a university in the Netherlands. Although most people in the Netherlands speak English, you will need to learn the language (Dutch) if you want to stay here. Making friends outside your u201ccommunityu201d could be challenging if you do not put in the effort and interact with people. This leads to people (especially students) feeling lonely here. To end on a more positive note, the Netherlands is a beautiful country and has quite a bit to offer. As long as you're ready to put in the time and effort and work towards whatever goal you have in mind, you will enjoy life here.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transport system in Utrecht is probably one of the best systems in the Netherlands. You can catch a bus to almost everywhere, and a general rule of thumb here is that a bus stop should be a maximum of a 15-minute walk away from someone's place, which gives many options to travel.
Dislikes (Indian Food): The taste buds here are completely different, although you do get decent Indian food here, the best places in Utrecht for Indian food are South Indian food and the North Indian options tend to be less appealing. It is also expensive and it's not something I would unnecessarily go for when going out to eat.

The cost of living and tuition fees are quite high in the Netherlands
Tips: It's a huge transformation coming abroad, because you first step out of your comfort zone, learn to do things by yourself, manage finances, learn to cook and manage the household better. You tend to explore things and gain experiences along the way, both personally and professionally. There are cultural differences, and you learned to adapt to the new environment and compared to the Indian system, I personally feel, it has made me more punctual, made me share my own opinion, and more professional overall. I am very satisfied with the university, its method of teaching, and the faculty. It's different and a better way of learning compared to India. The Netherlands, overall is a very beautiful and peaceful country to live in, with a lot of opportunities and the best public transport system.
Likes (Indian Food): The Netherlands has a wide variety of food options; there are multiple Indian restaurants and food delivery apps that make life easier, however the only downfall could be the pricing. I prefer to cook for myself, as it makes it cheaper. There are cheap supermarket like Jumbo, Lidl, and Dirk that makes it manageable.
Dislikes (Value for money): In my opinion, the cost of living and tuition fees are quite high in the Netherlands, compared to other EU countries. However, if the right efforts are put in and opportunities are used well, the tuition fee and living costs can be paid back with great post graduation opportunities.

Master's experience at Utrecht University was memorable.
Tips: Utrecht is a very small city, but it is one of the busiest ones in the country; as such, it is very tough to find housing, which means that rent can be quite high. The university itself has multiple campuses scattered across the city, and depending on your major, you may have most of your classes in one or more campuses. The Dutch education system can be tough at first, given the study load it entails, so it may take some time and a lot of effort to adjust if you are unfamiliar with it.

Diverse, progressive and academic oriented.
Tips: I did not get scholarship but a lot of people did get a scholarship. If you have really good extracurricular activities on the really supporting SOP then there is a high chance of getting a scholarship and Nijmegen is a rural area. We have a lot of cultural activity happening and it's a very progressive city.
Likes (Student Life): Master's in Radboud is really good. We can meet a lot of people from different countries and diverse cultures and I was also able to take a lot of electives. I have one in law, one in psychology, one in social science and two from management, while being a part of the community garden and Enactus Nijmegen.
Dislikes (Part time work): Like all countries, we can't do part-time work all around the year. We can either choose full-time in July, June and August or 16 hours per academic year. Also they pay 15 per hour.
