1. Accommodation rent: A 1-bedroom apartment inside or outside of the city centre may cost you between €1,500 to €1,800 per month. University accommodation is cheaper but limited and highly sought after. Apply for it the second you get your acceptance letter!
2. Basic utilities (electricity, room heating and cooling, water, etc.) cost around €248.75 a month.
3. A mobile phone with a monthly plan of unlimited calls and 10GB+ data, along with internet, may cost you around €80.

5. Proof of funds for visa: Generally, a minimum of 80% of the current social insertion income, which is currently set at 1,201 euros, is required as the minimum amount of funds to support yourself in the country. This counts to €860.8.

Luxembourg Student Visa Eligibility Criteria

2. Get Your Acceptance Letter: As soon as your chosen university provides you with an offer letter, you can start the visa process.
3. Apply for "Temporary Authorisation to Stay" or Residence Permit: Before you apply for a Luxembourg student visa, you must apply for this authorisation from the Luxembourg Immigration Directorate (Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs). This can take a few months, so do this immediately. 
4. Apply for the Visa: Once your authorisation is approved, you take this approval letter, your university acceptance, and other documents to the VFS Global centre representing the Embassy of Luxembourg in India to get your long-stay student visa.

Working Part-time on a Luxembourg Student Visa

Like other major countries, Luxembourg also allow international students to work part-time while studying. Students studying the master’s or PhD course, or those who have completed at least two semesters of their undergraduate degrees, are allowed to work a maximum of 15 hours a week while studying in Luxembourg. However, this restriction does not affect doctoral students engaged in research at a higher education institution or assistants with contracts at the University of Luxembourg.

The allowed working period may stretch to 40 hours a week during holidays.
