MSc in Environmental Engineering - Batch of 2028

There's a balance for academics and fun at TUHH.
Tips: You should be prepared for both highs and lows. But I am sure you will learn a lot. Germany as a country is cool. You can travel a lot too. Alongside studies, you can be involved in co curricular activities as well. This is what I like about the education here.
Likes (Student Life): There's a balance for academics and fun at TUHH. There are many events you can be a part of, and you can get to know people from different cultures. You can learn a lot of things other than academics. I feel this is a place where you find yourself. I found myself.
Dislikes (Part time work): The financial year of 2025 was difficult. The trend was low. Students found it hard to land a part time job. I had friends who could not find a job and were struggling. You need to learn the language to an extent to survive here. But other than that, it's a beautiful place to stay.

Master of Science in Microelectronics and Microsystems - Batch of 2027

Strong academics and supportive faculty.
Tips: The most problematic thing after coming here was finding an accommodation. As in Germany, everyone has to do 'Anmeldung' which means everyone has to register their home with the local residential office. However, finding such type of accommodation (affordable) is hard to find. However, it becomes easier when you know good German. Knowing German helps everywhere from finding accommodation to small hustle in daily life. It is the key to surviving in Germany. With regard to the university, it is the best in terms of support, guidance and learning of course.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Professors are always there to guide or help whenever required. We have regular lectures which focus on current trends in technology as well as each course has PBL- Project Based Learning in which students work on practical problems related to the subject.

Master of Science in Microelectronics and Microsystems - Batch of 2027

Set your goals and do thorough research of what you are getting into.
Tips: The university is completely research-based. Which means you will get all the training for research, but you will not get more exposure to jobs. The university will not give you more hands-on experience with tools that the industries are currently using. If you want more hands-on and industry-ready, you should select applied science universities.
Likes (Public transportation): The fee payment for my university will include a public transport ticket. Germany has a Deutschland ticket, but for students, it will be called a semester ticket, and the fee for this will be taken from the semester fees that we pay. With this ticket, we can use all regional and citywide trains except for high-speed ICE trains.

Growth and learning at TUHH.
Tips: Students should be prepared for a rigorous academic environment with high level of self directed learning at TUHH. The transition was smooth overall, though there was a cultural shift towards punctuality, independence, and structured systems. I am highly satisfied with university, the MEMS course and Germany as a study destination.
Likes (Safety): TUHH provides a vibrant and supportive campus environment. My days include classes, group projects and self study with student clubs international communities and cultural or technical events making college life engaging and enjoyable.

MSc in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering - Batch of 2027

Lots of opportunities to explore.
Tips: Study well from the beginning as the course requires proper time for understanding concepts, and if you score good grades, several scholarship opportunities are unlocked. Learn to adapt to the surrounding environment and blend in with the German culture.
Likes (Value for money): As the university is a public university there is no tuition fee for the studies. Only expenses that are there are for the expenditures like house rent and health insurance and food cost. This can be managed by part time jobs at university and outside university by doing odd jobs.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Depending on the field of study, several chemical industries are present in Germany and Germany is considered the technological hub for process engineering. For designing jobs and production, you need German language skills to work in a German company.
