Suggestions for Improvement in practical Education & Classroom Diversity

Tips: Before joining, students should know that English-taught programs often have a large South Asian student community. I also think students should carefully consider the tuition fees. For a private university, I found the tuition fees reasonable, but if you have the opportunity to study at a good public university in Germany, it may be worth considering because tuition fees are generally much lower or even absent. I would rate my university experience around 3 out of 5. I think there is room for improvement in the quality of education and practical learning. At the same time, having students from different cultural backgrounds is also an important part of education because you learn different perspectives from each other. I have changed a lot since I first came to Germany. In the beginning, the culture, education system, working environment, and everyday life were all new to me. Over time, I became more independent, confident, and adaptable. One important thing I learned is that university can provide theoretical knowledge, but personal and professional development also depends on your own effort. You have to take responsibility for your growth and continuously improve yourself. I did not receive any scholarship. I also did not actively look into scholarship opportunities at that time, so I cannot comment on the allowance or application process. Overall, I would rate my university experience 3 out of 5. The course gave me a good theoretical foundation, but I believe there is room for improvement in practical education. One thing I will always remember positively is advice from a faculty member on my first day. I was worried about how I would manage in Germany and build my career. He told me, u201cYou will achieve everything, but it is step by step. You have to climb the steps before reaching your destination. u201d I still remember and follow this advice. Germany has helped me become much more independent and confident. Looking back, I can SEE how much I have grown si

Likes (Safety): Honestly, compared to other cities, I feel Berlin is much safer, and it's actually very good to get different types of cuisine, and definitely there are a lot of food options for Indian food lovers. And the transport is also good, it has great connections you can travel all over Berlin with your student ticket. And for the food options, your university also provides you with the Mensa student food card, where you can get very cheap and amazing food options.

Dislikes (Value for money): I would say the tuition feels are justified. However, the tuition feels is lesser than any other private university, there aren't many, and it can be better if they focused a little to provide practical knowledge. The most important part of this university is that you will mostly find south Asian community.

Inexpensive university with public university benefits.

Tips: There is an early bird discount, not sure whether it's still available or not. Cultural shift was of course there but with STW and other student organisation, it gets easier to settle down. For scholarships, one can apply to DAAD, which provides a lot of scholarships, even Erasmus.

Likes (Public transportation): Even though trains are cancelled or delayed most of the times, but it is very convenient to travel across Berlin, especially as a student, you get discounted tickets with which you can travel all over Germany. Discounted tickets are 29 euros but students will get them only if they belong to a public university, and the university itself provides the ticket.

Dislikes (Post study jobs): Currently in Germany, it is very difficult to find a job. There are openings but there is a big mismatch between supply and demand. It's mostly because of the language barrier. They expect immigrants to speak native level German even for jobs where English can work perfectly. Universities abroad don't provide placements like in India, there are job fairs where you can connect with companies and people. To find a job, it's all about networking.

Intellectual and friendly campus.

Tips: You will learn to be very self-reliant and independent at this university. The university is welcoming, and the location is its biggest asset. You should learn the local language, even just a few phrases, so you can get around. You're allowed to work part-time for 20 hours a week.

Visa situation after the university

Tips: Most of the things they have to do on their own, and the university does not confirm the visa situation for the future because many students have experienced visa refusal even after completing the degree at this university. The situation was quite depressing when students had to leave Germany mid-degree.

Likes (Public transportation): Berlin has quite good transportation facilities. Trams and the U-Bahn rarely go on strike there. And the S-Bahn used to run regularly; it is quite easy to get to the university. Initially can be a bit confusing, but later you get familiar with where u have to get transfers and transport.

Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Initially, the staff was extremely experienced, but later they reduced the qualite, some of them were from Pakistan and India and were not able to pronounce some basic accounting terminology. And they used up a lot of the students' time.

Worst experience in international university of applied sciences Berlin.

Tips: Don't join! Not worth it. Maybe they changed their location and full course structure, so it will be different, but my experience was really bad. First of all, we didn't have a campus, no clubs, no community, no celebration. Firstly, it was non-mandatory classes later, after a university Court case, mid-course they changed everything exams, compulsory attendance- to resolve a visa issue. They extended the semester (for free). But not worth it waste of time and money. Also, employers' reputation is not good. I feel discriminated against because for German students they arrange events, and even their student office is different on campus from the one for indian students. They have a different student office with little to no activity. Once my friend went to a professional event arranged by them on campus that we wanted to join, the staff said it was not for indian students. So it was disappointing.

Likes (Public transportation): Berlin's connectivity is very good. The U-Bahn and S-Bahn are very convenient, and there are also buses. The public transportation fees are paid by the university it's included in feels so no problem. I currently live in Frankfurt. I moved there for an internship, but regional travel is also very convenient nowadays. ICE is more expensive that's why I rely on FlixTrain. If we book FlixTrain a month or so in advance, it's very cheap.

Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Our tutors are fine, but we don't learn from real professors who set exams professors work remotely with little to no help. 1) We have Outlook, so we can text them, and their replies are usually very vague. 2)I have absolutely no clue about my teaching faculty, but yes, our one tutor was so good, but unfortunately, he left the university.
