History
RUB was founded in 1962. Then, in 1991, the technology centre was launched. In 2000, the first Bachelor's / Master's degree was launched. Then, in 2007, the foundation of the University Alliance Metropole Ruhr by the universities of Bochum, Dortmund and Duisburg-Essen was laid. Then, in 2012, new Sports Sciences building on the Health Campus was inaugrated. RUB celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015.
