History
The University of Potsdam was established in 1991. It was formed by amalgamation of the Karl Liebknecht College of Education and the Brandenburg State College and various other smaller institutions. A few part of this university are in the historical buildings which have been named as the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The oldest buildings on the Campus Golm were built in the 1930s. The Faculty of Law is in Griebnitzsee. Other buildings and lecture halls were built in the 1950s.
