Student life in DCU and Ireland is amazing.
Tips: Do check the course modules beforehand to see if they align with your career or academic goals. The university automatically offers a scholarship with the admission letter to merit students (deciding factors are not known, hence no comments on the same). For some courses, there are no internship options available for the particular subject.
Likes (Value for money): The fees of the course is relatively lower than other universities within Ireland as well as other major study destinations like USA and UK. No concrete data is available but as per observation of the post-study salaries earned, the ROI is quite good.

Worth it for the money that we pay
Tips: Students coming here should make sure that their course is relevant to this country to get the visa sorted. Also, always make sure you don't get into trouble with the professors because they decide everything here and you do not have a chance to review things once it's done. Take care of that.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus part-time jobs are tough to get whereas off-campus ones are easier to get. Getting an off-campus job is pretty much in our hands and depends on how we try everything. We have online platforms and there are no walk-in interviews.
Dislikes (Internships): There is no guidance for internships except where to find it. Only help they did was to get into Linkedin which we are all familiar with and help to get our CVs sorted. Also, they do give us a chance to attend different career fairs and career talks.

Academically involved university
Tips: Students feel a lot of cultural shifts when they study abroad. They experience various culture, diverse students, teaching, everything is different here in Ireland. I got a DCU Merit scholarship of 2,000 euros from the university. All is good, the weather here is a bit unpredictable.
Likes (Part time work): There are various part-time work available. All you have to do is create a resume and apply on Indeed or Hoba portals. You can also give your resume to the local store and ask for an update regarding it. Sometimes it is hard to manage the course and part-time. Average is pay 10-12 euros per hour.
Dislikes (Internships): College provides full assistance in resume and cover letter building along with mock interview sessions and guidance. There are various internships available but you have to work very hard to grab one because of the hard competition in the Irish market.

Best for graduates with zero or less than two years work experience
Tips: If you an experienced person with a sole purpose of getting a job in Dublin then I feel you should not invest in this degree. This course is apt for graduates with zero or less than two years work experience. The university provides a lot of workshops and the programme is quite insightful. The professors are always there to talk and guide you. The career service at DCU is good and the career consultant has helped me with a job market and career advancement insights.
Likes (Student Life): The student life at DCU is great. As my course was intense, I did not get much opportunity to engage in activities organised by Student Union. However, during my course, I noticed a lot of activities on campus. We would get email notifications for the upcoming events.
Dislikes (Internships): To be honest, I have not paid attention to any internship ads. But the career service portal shares information on available jobs or internships. I have seen a lot of graduate programme job posts. I believe there should be opportunities for internships as well. If not, one can get in touch with Career Service or your professor who can connect one with their network.

Get accommodation sorted before coming to Dublin.
Tips: Accommodation is difficult to get. Please book from college to get the best experience and in advance. As you will have to make many compromises. It is important to make friends during the first month as most events happen in October and November. Many student discounts are available, vegetarians always have food options and sustainability thrift shops are present, thrift shops are great!
Likes (Internships): Got placed at an amazing internship at Intra placemat DCU. A wonderful and hard-working department. The internships are relevant to my field and the intra placement me with a CV review and reformatting, counselling and also matched my CV perfectly with my current placement. They are also available readily by email.
Dislikes (Public transportation): It is affordable but the bus schedules are never constant and you do have to wait in the rain as not all bus stops are covered. You can order your Student Leap card prior to your arrival and the same with cars ( student deals can go under 8 euros/month. Lyca is the most reliable though.
