- To register for an IED master’s Course, applicants must hold a Three-Year Degree or equivalent Diploma, or have at least two years’ experience in the field of the Master course applied for
- The Master's Degree in Design - Innovation, Strategy and Product at IED Milano is for students with an undergraduate degree in Design, Architecture or Engineering, either completed in Italy or abroad. Currently, candidates with degrees in other disciplines, such as Economics and Humanities, are also considered

- Admission test is required which consists of:
- Valuation of school record and/or work experience
- Language test (for candidates applying for a course taught in a language other than their mother tongue and who do not have a language certificate)
- Presentation, if appropriate, of digital portfolio (for specifications, consult the brochure of the course chosen)
- Admission interview
- IED invites the applicants to submit a portfolio including drawings/ illustrations, computer graphics projects, photos, research projects/dissertation projects on relevant topics, with a maximum size of 8MB
- The works should provide indications of the applicant’s creative potential and, if possible, give some insight into the chosen area of study
- The level of language proficiency of students who do not provide a valid language certificate upon application will be tested through IED Language Assessment. This language assessment aims to evaluate the language skills of the applicants and their capacity to reach the minimum level required. The online assessment is carried out via a Skype conference with one of IED’s language professors. The language assessment lasts about 20 minutes
