Master in Quantitative Finance (QF) - Batch of 2027
4.8
Excellent college , amazing professors and great environment.
Tips: Honestly, if you're proactive, you can pretty much pull off whatever you want here. Just keep hunting for opportunities because there is so much happening you will constantly feel like you are missing out on stuff—but looking back you realize how much ground you actually covered. Money-wise, I got 8k in the first year. Then for year two, depending on grades and merit, I'm looking at anywhere from 8 to 16k. The crazy part? Even though the degree is only 2 years, they literally give you another 4k for a third year on top of the full tuition waiver. 100% recommend this to anyone. Italy is amazing, and Bologna is honestly one of the best moves you could make.
Likes (Value for money): Almost everyone gets a scholarship, and if not, they get some financial aid, which waives fees or reduces them to 1200 euros and so on. The pros help you out with thesis and alumni network spending, giving you enough internships and job opportunities. If you have the skills, just with the help of alumni, you can get a job.
Dislikes (Part time work): No need to work; there are scholarships for everyone. Also, finding part-time jobs is pretty easy; enough options are available if looked in the right places. The university has several options, from working in the admin office to tutoring and library. The schedule is very elite, so you can pretty much have enough free time to live your life on top of doing jobs, coursework, and enjoying it, yes. 8-10 Euros per hour.

A welcoming environment and great, understanding faculty.
Tips: I did not really know what to expect initially but I was pleasantly surprised as I found my university to be accommodating, especially in my field of study. It is located close to the city centre which is known as the centre- the square where all the happening spots are. The internships available are very limited and in my case, my programme is very niche hence there are limited opportunities in general. The college doesn't offer internship opportunities so you are on your own on this one and language becomes another barrier. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the experience here.

Master in International Cooperation on Human Rights and Intercultural Heritage - Batch of 2023
4.1
The university is decent but limited internship opportunities.
Tips: I think I have been quite satisfied with everything I learned and all the people I got to know during my time at the university. My only advice would be to keep an open mind and be flexible with whatever opportunity that comes your way. Learn Italian to communicate with the locals and it will also enhance your ability to get a job if you speak fluent Italian. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Internships): There are hardly any available opportunities for internships as Bologna is not very well connected as compared to other cities. There is more priority given to locals and the linguistic barrier becomes an added challenge, especially as an international student.

Tips: I got to meet and interact with people from all over the world and that contributed to broadening my horizons and personality as well. Moreover, exploring Italy has been truly marvellous. If you decide to come here then make sure you realise that it is fundamentally different from cities like Milan and you'll need to understand basic Italian. The overall acceptance rate at University of Bologna stands around 70-73%. This means it is moderately selective. For non-EU applicants, admission can be tough because of extensive admission requirements. So, yes, it is hard for Indian students to get into UniBO.
