LSEF UMass Scholarship 2024
Launched in 2019, the LSEF-UMass Scholarship is awarded to driven, passionate and meritorious students to pursue postgraduate programmes from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (Umass). Scholarships up to 50% of academic tuition worth Rs 20,00,000 each are awarded to chosen candidates.
The programmes offered under LSEF-UMass Scholarship, include pursuing an MS in Data Analytics and Computational Social Science, an M.S. in Resource Economics and a Master of Public Policy. The programmes selected for the grant will provide significant global impact opportunities in combating challenges and meeting the dire needs of the changing world.

Students wanting to apply to the LSEF-UMass Scholarship grant must undertake two years of post-graduate studies, with the first year at the host institution in India - JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur and the second year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst leading to dual degrees as well as up to 3 years of OPT (employment authorisation) in the United States after successful completion of the programme.

What are the Eligibility Criteria for Applying to the LSEF-UMass Scholarship?
Candidates looking to apply to the LSEF-UMass Scholarship are required to keep the following in mind.
- Applicants need to be Indian citizens.
- Candidates who have completed (or will complete before July 2024) a minimum of three years of undergraduate (bachelor) degree in any discipline from an accredited institution or University in India are eligible to apply.
- Applicants should have studied Mathematics as a subject up to a minimum of 12th grade or equivalent.
- Applicants should have secured a minimum of 75% marks in their Undergraduate degree, 12th and 10th grades (or equivalent).
- GRE and TOEFL/IELTS examination scores are not mandatory for admission.

Candidates need to keep the following factors in mind before applying for the LSEF-UMass Scholarship.
- Candidates would be required to submit an Expression of Interest
- Candidates would receive an invitation to complete and submit an online application form (free) along with all relevant documents
- Shortlisted candidates would be invited for an aptitude assessment and personal interview with the selection committee
- Selections will be made on a rolling basis in each round and candidates are advised to apply early as there are only a limited number of scholarships
