Tips: Before taking admission to the University of Mauritius, you must be aware of the infrastructure, fee criteria, and food and lodging facilities. The university provides an equal opportunity to all deserving students. Therefore, it is recommended to visit the campus prior to admission to decide what you want. Post study job opportunities in Mauritius are abundant but very competitive. Salaries are decent, but job hunters may have to wait a bit to find the right opportunity. And, the people of Mauritius seem to be especially fond of Indians, which is very nice. I definitely like the people here. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences here.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There is fast food like pizza and burgers in Mauritius. If you want something nicer or if you are Indian, you need to cook your own food. The university is located in a city, so finding an Indian restaurant and hanging out with your friends there on the weekends is no problem at all.

- The successful completion of a 6 year full-time medical undergraduate programme, in English medium, undertaken in two parts: 3 years full-time for the Bachelor of Medicine followed by 3 years full-time for the Master of Medicine programme will lead to the award of the Doctor of Medicine (Medicinae Doctor or MD) degree.
- The aim of the MD programme is to train medical professionals who combine clinical competence, medical knowledge, proficiency in inter-personal and communication skills, ability to respond to the psychosocial aspects in health-care and to keep abreast of new developments in the medical field.
- Curricular contents are derived from the similar undergraduate programme offered by UNIGE. Students need to successfully complete the Bachelor of Medicine part in order to register for Master of Medicine part of the undergraduate medical programme. Students who succeed in the final year examination held at the end of the 6th year will be awarded a MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree by UOM.
