Monbukagakusho MEXT Scholarships in Japan are offered to applicants who are applying for admission to Japanese universities across various fields of study. MEXT Japan Scholarship Amount & Benefits

Apart from the above-given scholarship amounts, there are MEXT scholarship benefits which are offered to applicants includes ¥2,000 - ¥3,000 is added to the monthly allowances for conducting research in specially designated Japanese regions. The amounts are subject to change each year.
Percentage required for MEXT scholarships in Japan are as follows:
- Minimum 80% in X, XI and XII for undergraduate admissions.
- Minimum 70% in undergraduate courses for postgraduate or doctoral courses admissions.
- Minimum percentage will vary with Japanese and Technology College students.
Merely qualifying with the minimum percentagescore does not ensure the MEXT scholarship. Applicans have to also fulfil the age criteria.
The MEXT scholarship application process can happen in two ways. One based on the recommendation by Embassy. These applicants undergo initial screening tests, and interviews before submitting their MEXT application and documentation for admissions. Alternatively, the next way to apply for MEXT schoalrship is through university recommendations.
