South Australia’s Premier in New Delhi Discusses Career Opportunities For Indian Students Studying In Adelaide
Study in Australia: The South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas in Delhi led a high-profile delegation and discussed the various growth sectors and related career opportunities for Indian students who study in Adelaide.
Study Abroad: To further strengthen the education ties between India and Australia, South Australian Premier Peter Malinauska is in Delhi where he is leading a high-profile education delegation. The delegation highlighted the opportunities for Indian students due to continued collaboration between his state with India across education and business.
The delegation, along with the Premier, included StudyAdelaide officials and three university Vice-Chancellors.
Premier Malinauskas said, “I am pleased to be here in New Delhi, for my first visit as Premier of South Australia. It is a significant time to be visiting India, to continue to strengthen the relationship between our two countries. South Australia’s economy is gaining momentum in industries including health, renewable energy, space, agriculture and critical technologies. Indian students can benefit from the growth in these globally relevant and future-facing industries through employment while studying or after graduation and the collaborations our education sector has with industry. They will be set up for careers anywhere in the world. Our close collaboration between education and industry ensures that graduates are ready for the jobs of the future.”

The delegation's visit underlined the state’s strong commitment to boost ties with India, and it also marks a notable step in advancing cultural, educational, and economic connections between India and South Australia.
The StudyAdelaide event was a platform to connect Indian students with career opportunities in Adelaide. The delegation visit aimed at boosting collaborations between Indian key industry leaders and South Australian institutions.
“India continues to be largest source country for international students in South Australia since the year 2022. The state currently has 16,162 Indian student enrolments – a 4% increase on the previous year. Indian students are choosing Adelaide as their preferred education destination, making up 28% of international student enrolments in South Australia. (Data to 30 November 2024 year to date),” reads the official statement.
