Study Abroad: UK-Australia Joint University Campus Launches In Bandung

Opening new possibilities for Indonesian students and transnational education, the first UK-Australia joint international university campus opened at Bandung.
The first UK-Australia joint university has been launched at Bandung, West Java. The Deakin University Lancaster University Indonesia (DLI) campus is all set to open new possibilities for Indonesian students and transnational education.
The launch event was attended by diplomatic and senior government representatives, education agents, university partners and education sector leaders.
Professor Iain Martin, Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University, said, “Deakin Lancaster Indonesia campus will see us continue to build on our long history of meaningful connections and partnerships with Indonesia. Deakin’s reputation for balanced excellence in education and research, together with Lancaster’s strengths in research and transnational education delivery, will see students empowered by a truly world class academic experience.”
Professor Andy Schofield, Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University, said, “Today is a truly international celebration of what can be achieved when leading global universities combine their research excellence and teaching strengths to provide fresh new opportunities for growth. I look forward to following our DLI students as they progress and prepare for exciting future careers.”
British Ambassador to Indonesia Dominic Jermey said, “As the UK is a global leader in transnational education, the UK Government is proud to support the Deakin University Lancaster University Indonesia project since its initiation in 2022. It is a great example of how the UK and Indonesia are strengthening collaboration on higher education, innovation and research.”

Deakin University’s joint initiative with the UK’s Lancaster University will widen Indonesian students’ access to the international education experience, in line with the Indonesian government’s priority of advancing human capital development through education.”

The courses will start in September and initially, the programs will be offered in Business and Information Technology. The new campus is under an innovative trilateral education partnership. From Jakarta, it takes an hour to reach the new campus by high-speed rail. It offers Indonesian students an opportunity to earn dual undergraduate degrees from two renowned universities.
