Study In Canada: University of Toronto Shines In Reputation Rankings 2025; Ranks 21 Globally
The University of Toronto has ranked high in THE World Reputation Rankings 2025. It is placed at 21th position in the world.
Study Abroad: The University of Toronto has proved its brand value by managing to be in the top 25 of THE World Reputation Rankings 2025. Across 300 institutes from 38 countries and territories, U of T has been placed at the 21st position globally.
This ranking was based on a survey of global scholars. The university has been ranked 12th overall and in North America at the fourth position among public universities.
While commenting on its ranking, Trevor Young, U of T’s vice-president and provost said, “This ranking once again underscores how highly the University of Toronto’s teaching and research is regarded by academics around the world. “It also demonstrates why we’ve been able to consistently attract the world’s best minds to our three campuses.”
The scholars' survey was held between November 2023 and January 2024 and it received over 55,000 responses from 193 countries.
"U of T continues to be the highest-ranked Canadian university and one of the top-ranked public universities in the five most closely watched international rankings: Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy’s Academic Ranking of World Universities, U.S. News & World Report’s Best Global Universities and National Taiwan University World University Rankings," says the university statement.
U of T Economist Appointed At Bank Of Canada
University of Toronto economist Michelle Alexopoulos has grabbed the limelight in the media for being appointed to the Bank of Canada as the second external deputy governor.
While commenting on her appointment, she said, “It is an honour being selected to serve the Bank of Canada and all Canadians in this role. I look forward to working collectively with the other members of the governing council to promote Canada’s economic and financial well-being and demonstrating the benefits of combining insights from academic research, industry consultation and public outreach to achieve the best outcomes.”
