Study In US: NYU Sends Out Offers of Admission To Class Of 2029

Study Abroad: The offers of admission to NYU's New York City campus were given to only 7.7% of the over 120,000 undergraduate applicants.
NYU has announced sending the offers of admission to its future Class of 2029, which becomes one of the most selective classes in the university's history, as only 7.7% of the over 120,000 undergraduate applicants have received the offer.
Three of the university's undergraduate colleges have offered admission to fewer than 5% of applicants. These colleges include the Rory Meyers College of Nursing, the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, and the College of Arts and Science.
"For the class entering in fall 2025, NYU set a new record for the largest early decision applicant pool in history, with more than 25,000 applications, a 10% increase in early decision applications from last year," reads the university statement.
Carol Kim, vice president for global recruitment, admissions and financial aid at NYU said, “Year after year, we are in awe of the talent and ambition of the many students who aspire to join the NYU community and are thrilled to offer admission to this group of students."
"The perspectives of these remarkable individuals will enrich our classrooms, their curiosity will fuel groundbreaking research, and most importantly, their commitment to collaboration reflects the very essence of our mission—building bridges of understanding and cooperation. They inspire us, and we cannot wait to see the impact they will have at NYU and beyond. Through them, we see the promise of a brighter future," added Kim.
NYU Class of 2029: More Details
This year, around 1,000 students are from New York City public schools. The cohort has students from 50 states and 128 countries. The university anticipated that nearly 20% will be first-generation students and 20% of the Class of 2029 would be Pell Grant recipients.
Similar to the earlier batch, in this class, students with financial requirements are eligible for the 'The NYU Promise', where families with income less than $100,000 will not have to pay tuition, the scholarships will be adjusted each year to meet tuition increases, and the university will meet 100% of the demonstrated need.
