The University Of Queensland Ranks 4th Nationally In Reputation Ranking 2025
Study in Australia: In the recently released THE World Reputation Rankings 2025, The University Of Queensland has been ranked at 4th position in Australia.
The University Of Queensland has improved its ranking in the World Reputation Rankings 2025. The university has been placed at the 4th position in Australia in the latest ranking and it is at the 78th place globally.
"UQ’s position increased one place nationally since the last World Reputation Ranking in 2023, with its global ranking jumping 21 places. The rankings provide a list of the most prestigious universities, using data collected from the world’s largest invitation-only academic opinion survey. For 2025, THE updated its methodology to evaluate institutions across three areas — vote counts, pairwise comparison, and voter diversity," said the university statement.
UQ To Lead Clinical Trial Of Ovarian Cancer Screening Test
The university will participate in and lead a clinical trial of the Ovarian Cancer Screening Test. The clinical trial of the simple blood test will be held to detect early-stage ovarian cancer.
Professor Carlos Salomon Gallo, Director of the UQ Centre for Extracellular Vesicle Nanomedicine, said, "Around 1,500 women from across Queensland will be recruited to take part in this ground-breaking study to determine its suitability for population-based screening for ovarian cancer."
“Rapid and accurate identification of asymptomatic ovarian cancer will dramatically improve survival rates. Ovarian cancer ranks as the 8th most prevalent cause of death for women, with the elevated mortality rate primarily because diagnosis usually occurs when the disease is at an advanced stage. In this study, we will confirm the performance of the test under real-world conditions which will involve the collection of blood samples from multiple sites throughout Queensland and their shipment to a central laboratory for analysis,” Professor Salomon Gallo said.
The study is a five year program and it has received grants from Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation and the Lions Medical Research Foundation, National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Mater Research and Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer Research, and Lions Medical Research Foundation in collaboration.
