Avoid Empty and Dark Streets 

Although Germany has established itself as a peaceful country., however international students are advised to avoid deserted streets or empty parks during the night. These are locations that can attract criminal activities.

Candidates are advised to take care of their personal belongings in crowded places and on public transport. While crimes are rare in Germany, pickpocketing is a common occurrence in Germany just like everywhere else.

Be Cautious with Money

Candidates should be cautious while using the ATMs. Candidates are advised to be attentive and observant when handling money. You would not want your limited money to get stolen in a foreign land. As this would spell trouble for you. It is also advisable to not keep your belongings in one place. This is especially important when handling money and credit cards. Place them in different places, since you don’t want to lose your wallet and have nothing left on you.

Avoid Crowded Places

Germany is famous for its nightclubs and festivals such as Oktober Fest is a major crowd-puller. However, students should ideally refrain from getting intoxicated by themselves. It is always advisable to have company as there are drunk people who tend to pick fights. Being accompanied by friends will not only double the fun but also make your outings safe. Candidates are advised to be alert in crowded places like sporting events. While Germany experiences cases of street protests, however, these are localised and don't involve international students.
