Applicants who lack this background cannot be accepted to pursue year 1 at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. They are adviced to apply to Instituto Superior Tecnico (IST) as year 1 institution, where they can follow harmonization courses to fulfill the gap in this knowledge area. This will allow them to proceed to year 2 at any of the other partner universities
