Visa and Immigration
EU citizens are allowed to pursue undergraduate courses in Germany without a visa if they can fulfill the following criteria:
- If they are enrolled at an authorized or accredited educational institution
- The duration of their course is more than three months
- If they show sufficient savings to support themselves during the course of their studies
Non-EU students will need to apply for a student visa if they want to pursue higher studies in Germany. Also, initially they will get a visa for a three month period and it is extended on their arrival. International students are not permitted to study in Germany on a tourist visa.
