Sheffield, a city of hope.
Tips: I have lived by myself before so chores were not a challenge to me. I didn't grow up in a traditional and conservative home so not much of a cultural shift. I received a 2000 scholarship that was approved in my acceptance letter. Overall, I'm glad I'm here.
Likes (Indian Food): A typical day at the university is just attending classes, lunch and then back home. There are a few events on campus organised by the Hallam Students' Union (HSU). The first 2 weeks of joining, we had welcome week events lined up for us to get acquaint to the university and union activities, clubs and societies.
Dislikes (Safety): The teaching faculty is very approachable and helps us with everything through the course and modules. The weekly schedule is set and they adhere to it and assist us with any help that we need. The faculty is quite diverse even in terms of nationality.

Try to embrace the cultural differences.
Tips: There is always a cultural difference when travelling to a different country. I would say embrace that difference and make this time to blend into the system. There are multiple scholarships, I would say they were difficult to get but it's always worth the try.
Likes (Public transportation): University is located at the heart of the city. So the public transportation is very reliable. There are city buses, trains and trams throughout the city which makes transportation easy and from this, you can actually save a lot of money. Bus offers a discount price for students which is 13 per ride.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I would say there is recession going on throughout the world. There are many companies that are willing to sponsor jobs but for freshers it's quite competitive. It is better to come with the job experience in hand for easy access to the job market. However, if the right skill and confidence is there you are a winner wherever you go.

Affordable and the best college!
Tips: Students should do research about the modules of their courses. They should check ranking of the university according to their chosen course. Do they want to live in a bigger city or a cosmopolitan city because Sheffield doesn't have so much to offer as compared to London and other big cities?
Likes (Value for money): Sheffield city is the 4th biggest city of United Kingdom and it is very cheap compared to others like Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Essex, Reeding and London. Quality of life is also very good with less population and less traffic. No crime is there. Everything is so cheap.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food isn't available so easily including the Indian groceries. When I came to this college, the whole country was under national lockdown and because of that, the options for food and groceries were so limited that I had to suffer a lot but now, the things have changed. Lockdown restrictions have been removed and now lots of options are available to go out and get whatever we want.

The college is good with dedicated faculty members.
Tips: You will most definitely transforms, in terms of your behaviour and personality, you will be much more cautious in spending money and time. You will become a calmer version of yourself than before. I am quite satisfied with the outcome; whatever I had expected out of me, I have achieved it. And yes I'm very much satisfied with my college.
Likes (Safety): The city is safe, the campus is mostly safe and guarded. There is a shuttle bus from City campus to university campus and vice versa on designed times, so if you plan your day around it, you don't really have to depend on public transportation and can save quite a good amount of your money.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I have attended so many job fair but haven't gotten in yet. And most of the companies that offer jobs are non-relevant to sports. I have only worked in part-time jobs while studying in this university, full time jobs are really hard to get and it's not just about my university it's very to find a job in whole of UK and sponsorship too is hard to get.

I loved my time at Hallam
Tips: Do avail yourself of any scholarship if you can; there's a fun & serious environment too; you'll love it there. Its location is 10/10; every other facility is available close by, so it's SAFE. Students are very helpful; we literally had a pickup service from the airport to the university, and they helped us book a cab for our stays.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Supportive, polite, friendly & easy to understand. I had failed one whole module in the first semester, but the staff was very supportive during remedial classes and pushed me to pass in the re-exam. They also made sure I actually understood the research methods modules.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): There was no placement for my course, and the job offers were tough to get into despite applying to 100s. I had applied by the end time of my course, but there was no revert from the employer for a very long time despite following up for 2 weeks. No single reverts from any job applied there.

Diverse learning environment.
Tips: They should be prepared to work part time and have reliable skill sets. Students need to keep in mind the work culture and the type of studies for which they are pursuing. Great communication and the basics of finance will make your life easy. The most important thing is cooking which is much needed.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport connectivity is good across the city. And one should enjoy travelling through trams and trains. Bus service is also good. Travelling through Ola and Uber will cost you a fortune so better to get a rail pass or travel by bus. Cycling is also a good option.
Dislikes (Internships): There are no internship opportunities. You will need to do part time jobs and make a living out of it. Please prepare yourself to know at least the basics of communication and customer service. People are helpful and connections will help you to get a job.
