History
The University of Northern British Columbia was established in 1990 with its main campus located in Prince George. The university was officially established after the Provincial Legislature passed Bill 40, the UNBC Act. On August 17, 1994, Queen Elizabeth II visited the main campus of the UNBC to officially inaugurate the university and three weeks later the university had an enrollment of over 1400 students. Over the years the university continued to develop and secure multiple prestigious awards. UNBC won its first award for excellence as a place to work in 2012. The University of Northern British Columbia wants to help students for building and nurturing relationships and offers academic excellence along with exceptional faculty.

Undergraduate Admission
Students must have Class 12 or Standard XII Board Examination results issued by examination boards, such as ISC, GCSE, AISSCE, etc. For general entry, students should have a minimum average grade of 50% or higher in English Class 12, three academic subjects, and an elective. Apart from this, students who have a three-year diploma issued by a state board of education will also be accepted. A minimum average grade of 50% or higher is required for general entry.
