• If applicants are in their final year of undergraduate study at the time of application, they must submit at least one academic recommendation from a faculty member at their undergraduate institution. The second recommendation may be either academic or professional

• If applicants received a bachelor’s degree within 2 years of the date of the application, they are strongly encouraged, but not required, to submit an academic recommendation

• If applicants received a bachelor’s degree more than 2 years before the date of the application, they are not required to submit an academic recommendation

• A faculty member with whom applicants have studied at their undergraduate degree-conferring institution who can assess their academic work, intellectual ability, and academic potential for graduate work. The recommender should have instructed applicants directly; academic advisors are not appropriate.  AND/OR
• A current or former supervisor (preferred) or work associate/project leader who can attest to the applicant's professional abilities. If applicants manage their own business and are their own supervisor, they may select a client as their recommender. Personal references are not appropriate

Applicants will be required to submit a one-minute video essay answering a randomized prompt before submitting their application
