Students praise the college for its robust academic programs. Many reviews mention that the college offers great political relations, journalism, theater, or anything along the visual media arts programs and students appreciate the variety of extracurricular activities organized by the college.

Students can find on-campus employment easily while studying at Emerson College. Students can find part-time employment via the federal work-study programme or the college's general employment program. During the academic year, you are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week on campus as an F-1 student, and during breaks, students are allowed to work more than 20 hours per week. Office assistant, food services, and library assistant are a few examples of jobs that can be found on campus. Students are paid weekly cheques directly. 

Student Employment will not post off-campus positions unless they are a Service Work Study partner. For off-campus employment students need to reach out to the Office of Career Development.

The college runs a number of historic theaters such as the Paramount Center and the Cutler Majestic Theatre which are used for both professional and student performances and it also has a strong alumni network.
