Texas State Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

International students can apply for Texas State University admissions 2026 in Fall, Summer, and Spring Intakes. The next application deadline are now open for Freshmen Fall intake 2026. The students are advised to align the Texas State University application with the application deadlines.

Texas State University requires English language proficiency for International applicants. While the Texas State University mainly accepts the International English language testing system (IELTS), they also accepts other English language proficiency tests. In addition to IELTS, the University accepts other English proficiency tests such as TOEFL, DUOLINGO and PTE. The following table gives more details with the minimum score required from the tests for UG and PG minimum English requirements;

• 2 SOP: An SOP is essential for the application process for Texas State University. It helps the applicant to convey their talents, Academic excellence accomplishments and personal background of applicant's. However applicants should write SOP to specific essay questions (two essays are required):

1. Why have you chosen to pursue a graduate business degree at Texas State University? What do you hope to accomplish during your time in the program?

2. Tell us about your three most significant accomplishments. Why do you view them as such? What lessons did you learn from them?

3. Optional personal statement: In cover-letter format, you may address the admissions committee about anything related to your background, application, and/or desire to attend graduate school at Texas State University.

• 3 LORs:  Applicants are suggested to submit 3 LORs with particular recommendations from their previous degrees. 

• The Computer Science program requires an official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score to be submitted prior to admission consideration with a preferred score of 286 with no less than 140 on the verbal section (effective Fall 2015) and 148 on the quantitative section.However GRE can be waived off if you hold a master’s degree from an accredited US institution

• Applicants are asked for a background requirements as mentioned below:

• Foundations of Computer Science I (CS 1428)

• Foundations of Computer Science II (CS 2308)

• Assembly Language (CS 2318)

• Computer Architecture (CS 3339)

• Data Structures and Algorithms (CS 3358)

• Program Translators (CS 4318) or Operating Systems (CS 4328)

• 6 hours of advanced computer science electives.

No grade below a C in:

• Discrete Mathematics (MATH 5358 or equivalent)

• Calculus I (MATH 2471)

• Calculus II (MATH 2472)
