Fantastic college that outshines most of the popular private universities.
Tips: There is a cultural difference. People coming from India will need time to adjust to Austin and the US. UT offers a scholarship along with your admission letter. You can still mail and apply, but the success rate is very low. I earned a scholarship of 5000 with my admission letter. The best way to get a scholarship is to apply in the first round. I am very satisfied with the university, still adjusting to the country. I would say the course is good, but it's very important to know that it is more analytical than described on the website.
Likes (Public transportation): UT students can use all the public transportation in Austin for free. The bus services are great and are mostly on time. The bus services cover all the major areas of Austin that students would like to visit. Even if you have a guest coming over, the bus pass is also very affordable.
Dislikes (Part time work): This is a 10-month course, and due to this, there is no option for TA/RA/Internship. There are many part-time opportunities, but due to a very tight schedule, student of this course cannot do most of them. The ones we can do are for PTS (Parking and Transportation Services) and Dining. The average pay is $14.

People are friendly and welcoming.
Tips: Initially, studying here can seem intimidating, but the people are warm and helpful. It took me a semester to adjust to my classes and establish a routine. While play is emphasised as much as work, you are expected to do your best in assignments and projects to be taken seriously. I chose this program to gain a better understanding of policy-making and history, and it has not disappointed.

Interesting and diverse.
Tips: Texas is a very unique city offering all aspects of the American life in one place. The cost of living is reasonable compared to other states, but securing on-campus housing is a task. You can skip the orientation; it's not that useful anyway, but make sure your housing is sorted and that you have a functioning account. The international students mixer is where I found my friends.

The university campus is good with very helpful faculty.
Tips: Students should know that they might get a temporary culture shock but that will not unnecessarily be a bad thing as people here might come off as more blunt or transparent but they are also equally kind and helpful. Talk to your supervisors and interact in classrooms. Campus life is also very educative and you are bound to learn a lot. Public transportation is affordable and accessible throughout the day, Overall, I am satisfied with the course, college and the country.

The university provides a good sense of community.
Tips: Studying at the University of Texas has been an incredible journey with lots of ups and downs so far. The student body is diverse, and accommodation so you will meet good people. Focus on network building and making friends while you're here. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience.

UT Austin
Highlights

  • The International Business (IB) major is ideal for students who are seeking to focus their business studies on the global dimensions of business
  • The IB major provides students with a solid business education with a specific understanding of the international dimensions of business, and integrated knowledge of one major world region acquired through language study and direct overseas experience
  • The IB major prepares students for positions in business, government, and international agencies in the fields of industrial development, international trade, and global business operations and planning
  • In addition, the IB major is an excellent choice for students who plan to pursue graduate studies in fields where a knowledge of international business is beneficial such as law, international relations, and public policy
  • IB graduates will often start their careers in the domestic operations of an organization
  • Overseas assignments usually come after a few years with a company, although they may come faster if the student possesses specialized skills (e.g., language) needed by the company in its foreign operations. Alternatively, many opportunities exist domestically to advance to positions of coordinating global activities
