Applicant must hold a BS degree in Biology or related discipline from an accredited U.S. institution recognized by UCF or its equivalent from a foreign institution with 3 GPA on a scale of 4 GPA.

GPA of 3.0 or more (on a 4.0 maximum) in all work attempted while registered as an undergraduate student OR while registered as an upper-division undergraduate student (normally based on the last sixty attempted semester hours)

OR, a graduate degree, professional degree or equivalent from an accredited U.S. institution recognized by UCF or its equivalent from a foreign institution in a field related to the discipline of the program to which the student is applying

Applicants do not need to have an undergraduate degree in a biological science, but are expected to have 18 hours of biological sciences, including ecology and genetics. Courses in organic chemistry, calculus, and statistics are also recommended. After acceptance, minor deficiencies must be remedied by enrollment in the appropriate course at the first opportunity.

An academic haven with vibrant student life at UCF.

Tips: UCF is a fast-paced, research-oriented university with a diverse and welcoming community. Coming from a different country, I experienced a significant cultural shift, especially in terms of teaching style and social interactions. I was awarded a merit-based scholarship for my academic achievements. Student life at UCF is vibrant and engaging. I spend my days attending lectures, working on group projects, and participating in various clubs and events. What I enjoy the most is the collaborative environment and the opportunity to network with students from diverse backgrounds. UCF organizes regular cultural festivals, career fairs, and teach events. There are numerous student clubs which help foster a sense of community. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my choice to study at UCF. USA is a great place for both academic and personal development.

Dislikes (Safety): The faculty at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is highly knowledgeable and passionate about their fields. They are approachable and always available for discussions, whether during office hours or through email. The teaching methodology is very hands-on, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications. The faculty is diverse, with many professors coming from different countries, offering a wide range of perspectives in the classroom.
